The most delicious skewer hotpot combination in Auckland. We got a lamb and plain flavoured broth which easily complemented all our raw meats and veggies. But the real crowd pleasers have to be the condensed milk crunchy buns and deep fried pork with bbq soy.

We were impressed by the clean and neat dining environment, as well the great variety of the food selection. Loved the apron and hair tie provided, as well as the bin for storing our clothes. 10/10:)

This hot pot place is located at the back of k road. Very spacious and clean inside. Air conditioning and ventilation must be good, didn’t feel hot and humid inside like some other hotpot places. They pay for wilson car park right next door, 1 free ticket per every $80 spent. Spicy soup is actually very spicy although I enjoyed it. If you add some side dishes and meat, you’d pay around 35 to 40 pp for reasonable serving. Overall fun experience and tastes reasonably good.

Not the best photo but has a huge variety of options to choose from if you are a big fan of hot pot.
The side dishes are great too! Highly recommend

Pleasant experience. Food was yummy as always. Very clean place, customer service was great. I visited this place previously was concerned about too much MSG, after my feedback to staff, they really took it onboard, this time didn't feel the need to be drinking lots of water afterwards. Changed from 3 to 5 star thank you.

After years, Xiaojungan hotpot skewers Restaurant is still my favourite hotpot in Auckland. Their best taste, reasonable price, friendly services and convenient free parking, that's why I always dine in at least once per week.

Yeah I'm gonna admit it this place caught me off-guard as I was driving through the backwaters of the dilapidated yet chic section of Auckland that is known as K Road. I mean just look at its name. Driving through Cross Street you see the big neon letters splattered across a pedestrian bridge nestled far and wide across the top of the street, and it almost kind of feels like you've arrived in this uber-small Chinatown. Parked down in the (restaurant-fully subsidised!) Wilson carpark adjacent to the restaurant and while walking over, I can't help but feel like I'm in some secluded underground scene with hugely dilapidated buildings with graffiti and worn out signage enclosing the many buildings. But then you come across this distinct fancily and creatively decorated restaurant sitting in the middle of a run-down grunge street and you can't help but feel like it's a little out of place (for the better). Must be the cheap rent.

The style of service definitely backs up the bright and avant-garde facade as there is a hostess who professionally receives you at the door and leads you to a table. Then you are asked to order a soup broth in which you are supposed to cook the raw food which are stored in self-service fridges lined up against the wall. The food consist of very small bits of marinated and also unseasoned meats such as spicy beef or Chinese sausage, fish balls, among many others.in addition to vegetables such as cabbage and spinach.

Prices are a bit on the dearer side, for example a little bunch of spinach would set you back $6. The soup base broth costs $16 and sauces and seasoning is $4 per person. The skewers are charged by weighing the total weight of all skewers you have consumed on the night, with the addition of a steel pan which is also part of the weigh-in. The cost for this is $69 per half a kg. Our meal for two people cost us $70. Despite the higher price, the last similar establishment I went to cost us $160+ for 3 people, and I'd rate this restaurant as being superior, especially in relation to the effort they make for the decor and service.

I hope this establishment will be able to thrive as it brings some much-needed fresh energy and vibrancy to a tired and crumbling part of town on the edge of the CBD.

We went there on Sunday lunchtime. The soup had not strong enough flavour although we ordered the most spicy and most numbing one. Limited choices for vegetables. No spices powder for dipping neither.
.
Forgot to mention: Xiao su rou (deep fried pork) is really delicious, either eat alone or boiling in the hotpot. The pieces were quite big.
.
It’s good time to go if they have promotions.

Love hot pot and love "chuanchuan", therefore I keep visiting this place in the CBD. Fresh ingredients, good taste of skewers and value for money. This is the place to go for a winter feast! Credit to my colleague for photos.

All the best! The most authentic Sichuan food experience in Auckland. I used to live at CBD, loving this restaurant. Now living at East Auckland, I drive more than 30 minutes to go there.

Pretty good.as good as any hotpot place really. I find the skewer system a little bit inconvenient, rather than just order what you want.

You made me and my brothers night very enjoyable. Your service was amazing, and your food was delicious. You gave us some additional attention, as we obviously needed help. Your 13year old son is an inspiration for my kids, as he was very helpful, respectable and a hard worker. You all should be very proud! Will see you next time

A bit pricey, but quite nice. Love the tomato base soup. Some dishes are too much for two, wish to have half-sized dishes which make it possible to try more food.

The service is soooo terrible, not only the manager, but also all the staffs. We even met staffs who cleaned the table near us and yelled at each other loudly. Never try again. I think they just meet the new standard of terrible service in AKL
