ANYONE FROM AA SERVICE CENTRE GOING TO COMMENT?

In May 2020 I had my cam belt, water pump, tensioner and bearings replaced by this workshop. Unbeknown to me they were using after market parts. I am now suffering the consequences of those non genuine parts. In three years my water pump is now leaking and I have a very slow oil leak from (what my mechanic thinks) the bearings put in then. He will know more once all the parts are out. After market parts do not last. These people do not tell you they are using after market parts and charge premium price.

My mechanic states the work done by the AA service was totally 'shoddy'. Where metal gaskets should have been they used paper gaskets. That is why I had a water leak, from the pump, that also was not genuine. The tensioner was not genuine and was not doing it's job, as the cambelt was so lose my mechanic didn't know how it stayed on. He took a video of it which I will also post. Bearings had also failed. That was was the squeaky sound I had when my truck was idling. Finally the cambelt is not genuine and after three years was in pretty bad condition. Something that should last 100,00km has lasted about 20,000km and I am now paying again. If I can stop ONE person from using this firm I have done my job. Workmanship is shoddy and the parts are not genuine. I paid about $1700.00 to have my cambelt done 3 yrs ago. My mechanic said for that price I should have got genuine parts. RIPPED OFF GOOD AND PROPER

The bill to fix this service centres shoddy work is $1392.00.guaranteed for 100,000km. All legitimate parts.

Re their reply. As you are well aware original parts parts come in packs. In, say the waterpump, it comes with a metal gasket and everything you need. 3 years in your water pump leaked because it did not have a metal gasket. The specs for the original cambelt it's self is 160,000km. Your one would have have been lucky to do 30,000kmbif it hadn't fallen off before. You give a 12 month warrantee which is a joke. I asked you receptionist that if your work failed in 12 month 1 day and my car was wrecked she said that would be on me. On one of the most important jobs a car can have and you use after market parts without telling people is a down right digrace and what's more you charge as it you have put in ligitamate parts. Tell me after three years would you have given me the time of day if I bought my car back to you? Hell it was hard enough getting $92.00 refund after you installed a wrong fan belt. My new mechanic picked it up just by looking at it. People have put up these good reviews, if only they knew what parts were going into their cars. PEOPLE DONT USE THIS COMPANY

I have been taking my car here for both WOFs and repairs for over a year now and have always had a good experience! Always very quick to get the work done and they clearly communicate what needs doing and why (which is great for someone not particularly car-savvy). My engine needed some repairs recently and it was towed to the AA late on Thursday afternoon before a long weekend - by Monday midday it was ready to be collected! Would definitely recommend:)

AA Lunn Ave used to be great. But with the new receptionist they're going downhill fast, everything seems to be a pain for her. Secondly they seem to damage stuff around they areas that they work. They recently replaced a part for which they had to remove the aircon. Low and behold the aircon stopped working. I took it to a dealer in Penrose and they fixed it straight away. Some muppet didn't reconnect the aircon up properly. Don't waste your time here. I would recommend Pitstop Glen Innes. Paul will see you right.

Cant fault this place. Called in on a Saturday morning about getting some bulbs replaced, front and back, they were busy and so they offered a time slot later in the day, perfect. Woman at the counter is super friendly and knowledgeable. Bulbs all sorted in no time and was way cheaper than I was expecting. I gonna give them a go for my next WOF and other services they offer.

Great experience servicing the car last year. The place is clean and organized well. I made a mistake this year trying to save on service and ended up paying more money to a dodgy workshop. Next time will be back at your place where I had smooth experience. Play safe - use known quality services.

My reply to the owner's reply-. I did get 1yr warranty for the parts from another garage, and they used quality products, they also explained to me clearly about a few other minor issues and how the computer system and some of the parts in the car works, and this is something I never got told by AA. It's always best to shop around.but thanks for your reply. (Original comment) _ Expensive. More than a year ago I went for servicing and they told me that few parts needed replacing, costing about $1k all up. But other garages were much cheaper (almost half price) with quality products as well. So I never went to this AA branch since then.

Overall good and reasonable experiences so far. Been going to this particular service centre since COVID hit as I've been working from home and this is within walking distance to my home.

Services rendered.
Radiator repair + Water pump repair.
Service + WoF

Mechanics friendly. People manning the reception have been friendly. Staff each time have taken the effort to explain things in lay mans terms.

Nothing reasonable to fault. Only thing may be was the phone system for a period would spontaneously cut out mid conversation, however, looks like this has since been addressed (didn't occur last time)

Pricing appears to be reasonable when compared to other reputable mechanics.

Open on Saturday Mornings.

Plan to continue using this service centre.

Failed a WOF on fog lamp not working. Was told they couldn’t change the bulb due to them not having time and needing to remove components to access and recommend I go and see an auto sparky. 1 trip to repco and 30 seconds later, job done. How is that so difficult?

One chair outside for all customers to sit on due to covid restrictions. Car performing worse after silver service than before. A poor experience overall from a business I expect more from. Time to lift your game.

No BS experience and very courteous and professional. You get texts and calls to tell you when to collect your car. All staff are friendly. They have no issue with my old Euro either. Pre-covid they did a stellar job fitting me in just so I wasn't car-less for school collection time and picked me up from my home around the corner. Price is very reasonable.
