Airport Garden Inn Hotel

Rooms, are clean and comfortable. Great place if all you need is a room to stay the night. Service was pleasant but wouldn't set you a light. The location isn't great and the outside of the facility needs care.

Value for money

Service is bad. Room condition is too bad and rooms are too hot. No extra fans or any other facilities.

The rooms are tacky, not what is represented in the photos. You can hear your neighbour's doors slamming people talking loudly. Thank goodness we only stayed one night I wouldn't recommend it. The only bonus is the free shuttle but other then that it's not worth it.

The photos on Expedia and on Google are very misleading. There was black mold on all of the curtains and on the ceilings in and around the bathroom. There were stains on the curtains and bed sheets and the floors were sticky and dirty. I was very disappointed. However, the worst part was the CREDIT CARD FRAUD! They have you place a card on file for incidentals. They have a paper form that you are to fill out with card information. This seems like a legitimate process. However, after my stay at Airport Garden Inn there were two fraudulent charges. Travel Lodge and Airport Garden Inn charged the card used for $1,126 and $2,635 aud. Thankfully the bank stopped all charges. I never even stayed at Travel Lodge so I have no clue if this is a scheme between the two. I notified Expedia of the issues and have asked that they not advertise this hotel in hopes to stop this from happening to other travelers.

The chain link fence around the property with 3 dumpsters located right at the gate set the tone for what we had to expect. McDonald's nearby because the property was strewn with their trash wrappings. Unkempt landscaping with weeds interlaced in the chain link.
Doors propped open for remodeling and used laundry bags lined the hallway.
Surprisingly, the room seemed clean, so otherwise, probably would have left at this point. Thumbs up for the maid/clean crew. The room was low-end furnished, and the portable heater provided just adequate heat for the winter conditions.

I marked down the rooms as we were very happy with the ease of access to our rooms and the beds we had a beautiful and warm sleep. The price was for both rooms were good. But we ad 3 Adults in each room which it caters for for sleeping but only Two coffee cups Two Glasses which meant two adults had to share a coffee cup. One room didn’t have a microwave so they were unable to heat anything.
Just a bit of lack of maintance ie door handles to bathroom were very loose.
Reception was beautiful on entrance, reception very help and process easy. But the Grounds were nothing like it is on the website. Weeds in all the gardens basicly no grounds were tidy. On entrance thru the gates there were to the side along the fence broken microwave exctra obviously from the rooms.
Restaurant meals were ok but the prices were bit dare, if you were wanting a snack then a snack is what you got.
Was easy to find from the motorway and easy to get to and from airport.
Over all exsperience was ok for one night but I wouldn’t book there again.
Bit of maintance and touch up and I’m sure it would be a great place.

Excellent value for money. Spacious and clean room for an extremely reasonable price. Lovely, helpful staff. Great, free, shuttle. Didn't eat in the restaurant but the meals I saw looked good.

READ OTHER REVIEWS! DO NOT STAY HERE! Checked in and checked out within the hour of being in the room. Disgusting state of a room. Long black hairs on the bed. Yellow stains on the red liner on top of the bed. Tampon string sitting on the toilet seat. Used flannel (still damp) left hanging on showerhead, used soap with hair on it in the shower. Hair and mold inside the shower on the walls. Loose hair on the bathroom floor. Sticky floor in room, horrible urine and damp wood smell, dusty furniture. BEWARE WHEN LOOKING UNDER THE BEAD. Dust, food crumbs and more hair, long time accumulation. Fridge had brown drink spilled down the front, small milk tubs inside of fridge were dusty and sticky (we didn't use this) After a long day at the hospital, visiting a very I'll family member, we had a check in at 11pm with two small children under 5 with us and just wanted somewhere to recoup. It took us a long time to get all of our things into the room, organise the takeaways meals for the kids to eat and start to bath them.by 12.30pm we realised the entirety of the revolt of the room. It was too late, kids were falling asleep, we were aware it was too late to book anywhere else. We did our best to get the kids ready for bed without touching anything, very hard when the shower drain was blocked and we had to endure standing in the slimy floor and water. Most disgusting experience EVER! We realised we could stay with a freind an hours drive away and decided to pack up and leave. I returned the next morning to complain about the room and demand a full refund, Cindy was awful to deal with but I argued my point and she finally gave a full refund. We booked with expedia initially and When we arrived they told me our card had declined and that we had to pay booking fee again + $150 bond. We did this as we needed somewhere to stay. Turns out, they had a virtual card error, the first payment did go through and the hotel did receive 70% of that initial booking (expedia takes 30%). Cindy at the hotel mentioned that I would need to contact Expedia for a refund of th3 double booking. After 2days of pissing around with expedia, I found out they would only return their share (30%) and had to contact the hotel to return the rest. The hotel (Cindy You) refuses to pay the 70% as the room according them was used and they now stipulate that they mentioned to me that the amount refunded was for the double booking. Which is a lie! Because Cindy told me to contact Expedia and why the hell would I contact expedia for a refund if she gave it already? Horrible staff, horrible customer service, disgusting rooms DO NOT BE FOOLED BY THE PHOTOS! - Such a horrible place to stay, you feel unsure in that area, especially when there a drunks near the foyer and a gaming room also, not safe for families with kids. Such an awful experience especially after the ordeal we had at the hospital! Such a shame that places like this can remain open. Look at all of the other reviews.this is not an isolated case.

Clean and quiet. Basic but perfectly adequate accommodation, and excellent value. Quick airport pickup. Friendly staff. Wifi worked well. Perfect for an overnight stay when catching a flight the next day.

Nice clean sheets, fresh fluffy towels and a hot high pressure shower what more could you want. Staff were so lovely and helpful made it easy to check in and the shuttle was really great. Will be back

The place is dated but it's ok, nothing bad or nasty about it. We stay here often. It's a tad bizarre though that in a unit with a 'kitchen' there are no pots, plates, cutlery, not even a dishcloth. 2 cups, 2 glasses and a spoon don't really cut it I'm afraid. I make sure I bring my own plates, bowls and cutlery now. But like I said it's ok, it could be improved immensely but it's generally quiet even when full and it serves our purposes, can't fault it too badly. Ngā mihi.

Super rundown hotel with zero facilities, if looking for comfortable stay, avoid this hotel.attached is photo of showerhead of hotel.

The pluses were that the sheets seemed clean and the fridge was newer. The minuses were the two foot stain in the hallway carpet, the cabinet doors that hung crooked, the mold and rotted wood on the bathroom floorboards. Stains of something splattered on the wall behind the toilet. Holes in the wall. Stain on the bedspread. Pool was green water and grounds were covered in trash.

Terribly unkempt, dirty outside in the car park and overgrown trees. A real clean up is due if they cater to the public and international travellers. Inside was slightly better in the lobby but dusty, you can still see cobwebs under the table.

The place is dodgy as with having the pokie machines there. The rooms are very old and run down and dont have aircon, they had the room closed up all day and was like walking into a sauna. Gardens are over grown. The place was that bad, i didnt want to leave my car there while i was out of the country, ended up paying for parking at the airport.wont ever stay there again

Got a email saying my booking was cancelled because I wasn’t there when I said I was but my flight was delayed this is totally not acceptable and left me in tears at the airport absolutely do not recommend

My friend had booked a room here for one night travelling in domestically, having communication with the hotel on the day of arrival noting that he will be arriving in the night. Hours later on the plan arriving in Auckland getting an email saying his room was unavailable. This is unacceptable.

Stayed here last night. Holes in the walls. Blood stains on the couch.
Bathroom has mould. This place is a dump. We were stuck and had no choice but to stay. My wife woke up with bed bug bites on her legs. Not impressed at all.

Avoid this place full stop.
The entire condition of this place is very tired and not clean. The locals use the bar and gaming lounge like a local pub. The lounge chair appeared to have a great big stain on that looked like someone had an accident on it. The dining restaurant as they put it had half a dozen large round tables so if it were busy you would have to share. The menu was very limited and the food was not the best. So in my opinion find somewhere else to stay. Up side the staff were friendly.
