AKDENIZ BAR CAFE RESTAURANT reviews
70The food was delicious and I recommend you to come down here if you would like to get surprised
You can find a quiet place and a pleasant environment with various and delicious foods here.
Food quality very good. Tahdig on the rice was awesome! Kebabs a bit greasy but very delicious. Doogh was also awesome. It was definitely worth a try.
It's so, so, so delicious. It's my first time trying Persian food, and the lamb was especially delicious, and the yellow color on top of the rice? I don't know what it is, but it was crunchy and delicious. There was a lot of it. I only ate half of it so I took it to take away. If you go to Devonport, be sure to try it. I recommend it. I'm back in Korea and I miss this food?
My wife, kids and I went to this restaurant last night. We traveled 25 minutes from Epsom and this restaurant definitely had value for our long distance. The environment, staff behaviour and food was perfect. I strongly recommend having Shishlic and Momtaz that we had. The food was delicious and on time. Chicken Kebab was very tasty and soft enough. Although we waited for some time till someone come for our order, everything was perfect. I suggest if possible please serve your guests sooner if they have kids because with hungry kids it is difficult to wait. I strongly suggest having dinner there.
The food here is always outstanding and great value for money. We have feed our family and staff here many times both dine in and take out, and its always been well enjoyed. Thanks so much from Tennille Pedersen and the team from Devonport Flowers.
The portions were huge, we ordered a slow cooker and a grill and both were delicious. Middle Eastern style coffee is definitely worth trying. We arrived at noon, there were four or five tables of people, the waiters were very gentle, running in and out, busy. The decoration of the restaurant is very Middle Eastern and quite atmospheric.
Today is lunch, my wife's parents' last meal in Auckland, and they will fly back to Shanghai in the evening. They are very satisfied with having come to this restaurant by chance and eating such special food.
Such an amazing experience. Food is AAA took me to the kabab shops Iran with that authentic taste. I just want to say thanks to chef as he was very welcoming. Also the environment is kind of like the Bazars in tehran and Isfehan.
Great food and great service from the charming wait staff. Hummus, bread, chicken and lamb kebabs, apple tea - all were well prepared and delicious. As others have said, the portions are large. Will certainly return to try more.
Not enough choices for vegetarians but the food and atmosphere was great. Supportive and friendly staff. Highly Recommended
Very cozy place to spend quality time with the family. Nice portion for the meals. We have been there plenty of times already.
Really good atmosphere and even better staff. People here are friendly and listen to you.
All around an easy recommendation.
Delicious little Persian restaurant on the main street in Devonport. We were looking for fish n chips but we saw the plates of some diners and had to get involved. We had a lamb platter and then chicken platter. Very tasty!
We came for an early dinner, and had a really good time.
The couple who are the owners really make you feel welcome as if you are a guest in their home.
All of their kebabs were good, but I highly recommend their Koobideh, it can be salty, but it is very juicy and very large, it honestly makes your mouth water.
After the really good food and really good service, you're left with an overall really good feeling.
Worst service ever… hair on food, asked them to get it changed. They sent back the same plate and the hair was still on it (photo attached) we showed them and they said it “wasnt their problem”. The worker was rude and racist saying “all indian customers do this”. He wouldnt let us talk with the owner and when we did speak with him he said the worker was mentally unstable. Very disappointing.
AKDENIZ restaurant is undoubtedly the best
Persian dishes one can get. Every dish is at its best possible taste and of high quality. AKDENIZ restaurant a top priority for us Everything is absolutely delicious.
Amazing food that transports you to the Middle East. Generous dishes hard to put down the cutlery. Kind and warm service make you feel like home. Highly recommend.
One of the good persian restaurant we've tried. Perfect fizzy yoghurt drink and delicous eggplant dip. The appetizer platter can be improve by at least putting some taste in the yoghurt (garlic?). We tried asking them for garlic yoghurt but the waiter is so certain that they can't modified it. I am not too convinced with the grilled meat, it is too chewy and hard to cut. Other than that we would still like to come back and try the other dish.
Hands down one of the best kebab places I’ve ever been too, and that’s coming from an Arab. The ambience and atmosphere of the restaurant is beautiful, the owners are so lovely and the food is simply mouth watering. Would highly highly recommend their lamb kebabs!
Nice quite restaurant down an arcade. Could be overlooked, however we were served lovely food and lots of it. Really enjoyed.
We visited Akdeniz for my husband's birthday lunch. It was very busy so the service was slow however the food was worth the wait. Beautiful presentation and yummy food. The portions are big so it is worth the price. Overall we enjoyed the food and the ambience. We will be back again.
