I considered myself very fortunate to have found such a great physician who cares for hes patients
The staff are always obliging and accommodating.
What an absolute joke.
Wish I had read the reviews prior to transferring from The Doctors Whangaparoa (only moved because we moved to the shore)
My first issue was the 6-8 week waiting time to enroll. I understand and sympathise with staff shortage excuse over the last 2 years but Im sick of hearing this excuse (especially when I physically go into the practise and there are 2 receptionists on the desk and 1 other person in the back and 1 patient in reception)
My 2nd issue charging me $60 for my 4 year old NZ citizen child. When asked why I am being charged for my child I was advised "we haven't received the funding" when asked further I was advised it was their policy and I wouldn't be reimbursed. When I asked for a copy of this policy no one could provide me one and I was fobbed off with "the manager is on holiday"
I continued to question this "haven't received the funding" excuse and Rachael advised that the funding wasn't due until 5th Jan and they are paid on the 5th each month.my argument was if we didn't have to wait 8 weeks for enrollment they would have had the funding set up.which I'm sorry.isn't my fault / issue.
Third issue just been sent a text message confirming 5 year old daughter is enrolled and I need to pay $100 for her 1st appointment
Fourth issue when I did need to make an appointment for my 4 year old I was told no appointment for almost 2 weeks!
I will be taking my matter further with the MOH.
Having been unusually ill over the past few months with various mysterious issues I can't thank Dr John Kyle and the other amazing GP's and nurses at AFMC who have shown me incredible professional care and kindness.
The collaboration with other external Specialist professionals has resulted in me experiencing a continued solid recovery.
Thank you AFMC!

Practice manager Kirstie Olufson is a vindictive spiteful first class liar! Gossiper and a bully of the highest order.
*Drs * (and i use the term losely) are inept, incompetent and not in any way professional or up to date with current medication or prescribing of medication, nor do they show any duty of care or take responsibility for their bad behavior they would rather lie and gaslight a vulnerable patient than admit their mistakes. No I don't trust any of you. How does one trust habitual liars?

The reception was very rude to my 64 years old mother. The way she asked for her id was like "are you actually a residence here? " She told us it would take 3 months to be enrolled so I told her to stop the enrollment process. Months later they enrolled her via the system any way - cost her $75 for a standard visit at her usual GP. Don't go here people- nothing family here.
Worst service from receptionists.and don't think you'll get an appointment easily as doctors are always 'busy'.
Really disappointed with the service I received today, I had a very unwell 14month old and had an app for 230pm was told to wait in the car due to flu symptoms the reception lady came out at 2.45pm and told me that I needed to do a rat test on my son which was fine but I couldn’t as he was to upset and wouldn’t allow it she went back in to tell the doctor. I called again at 3.05pm to see when we would be seen to which I was told the Dr will be out in a min. 15min later the nurse came out and said we need to do a rat test to which I explained I’ve tried and no luck she said she would help she was lovely I didn’t catch her name but thankyou then we waited again. I called reception AGAIN as my son was losing it fair enough we had been in the car for an hour now! Her reply oh are you still waiting.at 345 Dr Samar finally came out and told us to come in, she didn’t apologies for the wait.nothing.was so short and had us in a back room even though my son had tested negative. I had just waited in my car with a very unwell 14month baby for 1HR15MIN! I couldn’t believe it I was so annoyed it’s not hard to apologise not hard at all! Please don’t do this to another mother as it was so stressful all for 5min appointment and sent on our way.

I have been a patient with Albany Family Medical Centre for 26 years now add two more generations who also attend. Doctor Paul Milton was our first doctor and he retired. Then Doctor Phil Gluckman.became my physician both over the years have provided an amazing service.knowledgeable and articulate.on point with follow up.great doctors who really care.walk alongside with you and go above and beyond.absolute legends.great staff as a patient could not ask for more.

If you ever need medical help DO NOT ENROLL IN THIS PRACTICE RUN AWAY my beautiful partner were killed by so called doctor Phillip Glickman who should be named DOCTOR DEATH neglected and frustrated my partner were complaining for 7 months noting were done no meds reviewed no specialist were booked just cut somebody's life 25 years shorter at least narcissistic ignorant dr DEATH should not be allowed to work with people and not even animals horrible person I wish Phillip Glickman will burn in hell for eternity
These kind&Caring Doctors (Philip Gluckman my preferred), Nurses&Staff, have been taking care of my needs as a patient for decades now.
And that's why I can honestly say. There is no better, Family Medical Centre.
Very careless admin. They have recorded my son's surname incorrectly, which caused lots of nuisance for vaccine pass etc.
Nowhere to respond to your response so that I am using the editing. I am not impressed by your response at all. First of all it ia not first name but surname. I believe you should apologize first rather than making excuses that is not relevant to this case.
Very happy with my decision to transfer to Albany Family Medical. Dr Helen Sharp and the nurses are always so lovely and caring.
Great GP, Dr. Hamid is a great doctor & the resception are friendly. I may need to switch gp's soon as ive moved house but I need to leave a good review before I do so.
By far the worst reception team I have come across! (one lady in particular) was not only VERY rude to me each time I have come in but also very nasty to me over the phone when I needed help during the lock down getting the care I needed!
Seriously do better!

I have been a patient at AMC for many many years. My personal GP has literally saved my life twice with his knowledge, professionalism, and patient investigation of my symptoms as well as providing a high level of empathy. I deeply appreciate that he listens! Other GPs I have seen there from time to time have also provided me with a very high level of care and kindness. From the receptionists to the nurses, thank you for wonderful care. I don’t thank you enough!
Really appreciated the short notice appointment to see my doctor yesterday. The service from start to finish was excellent. My family and I really appreciate the kindness and courteous service we receive from receptionists, nurses and doctors. We have patients for 14 years.

Kyle saw my car and immediately made an assumption that I was using their carpark for picking up my kid because she was in uniform. I was picking up a prescription medicine issued by their clinic. He quickly tried to walk away without apologizing. I was quite irritated by his lack of manners. Funny, he did not bother the other lady in another car waiting as well. Profiling? Otherwise the practice has other nice doctors but not him.
