My daughter initially had orthodontic treatment at another clinic several years ago, but recently, she required re-treatment due to a relapse. Naturally, she was quite concerned about the process. Upon the recommendation of friends, we decided to seek a second opinion from Alpers Dental.

Dr. Nic and Dr. Jacqui were incredibly kind and patient, taking the time to explain every aspect of the treatment in a professional and reassuring manner. The waiting room's warm and welcoming atmosphere made us feel right at home. As a result of our visit, my daughter left the clinic much happier. We are extremely grateful for the wonderful care we received.

Thank you so much!

Such a great experience with a daughter with a dentist phobia she was relaxed and calm and the service is outstanding.

Have been coming here for a year to get Botox for TMJD. My pain has significantly decreased and it’s always a quick and easy appointment. Thanks!

I have been seeing Alpers for a year. Darren Sue gives me a sense of confidence and calm. He explains everything, and is proactive in suggesting where ACC is appropriate, and what the treatment options are. The atmosphere there in general is positive and friendly. It's an easy dentist to go to, (not all dentists are) and has become my regular dentist.

Everyone who has looked after me in the clinic has been first class. I feel I have found the dentists I need.

I have not had a good experience with Alpers. In 2019 I was told that the clear aligners would have my teeth straight after 6 months, two and a half years later, my teeth finally reached the point to which I was promised. One of the aligners I was given along the way didn't even fit my teeth and I was told to change the shape of the aligner myself by placing it in hot water, not impressed. I know have a wire on the back of my teeth which I've had replaced twice in the last year. The wire broke the first time 3 days after it was originally put on. The second time the wire broke was while I was eating toast. When I explained how the wire broke, I was told that eating things like toast can cause this to happen and I should remove it from my diet. TOAST! Seriously. My wire has just recently broken again after biting into a chocolate bar and my teeth have started moving out of place again. Moral of the story, I am not happy at all with my experience at Alpers and don't encourage others to go there for dental realignment.

After being to 2 other dentists with an anxious child, we were recommended to go to Alpers from a friend.
Words cannot express how simple and easy they made everything for us, I have one very happy and confident daughter now. They even gave her a gift at the end.
No unnecessary work was done/recommended and the pricing is very reasonable, compared to other experiences recently.
Thank you all so much.

Amazing initial consultation for daughter's proposed orthodontic work, more thorough and professional than the other famous places also visitied, and a much warmer family atmosphere in a much bigger and better equipped clinic, staffed with friendly kiwis.

Following a couple of bad surgery experiences, I was very anxious about my tooth removal. I was so delighted with the comfort and ease of the procedure. He talked me through the entire procedure, step-by-step, and ensured I was comfortable at all times.
I would highly recommend Darren and the team at Alpers.

This is a great dentist with good service and workers, they have a nice waiting room with a small play area for kids. I'm really happy with their team who is always kind and caring!

My experience at Alpers is limited to the initial consultation as I decided to not pursue any of the 'work' they suggested was required. I think it's worth mentioning however so other new patients don't get stung.

I explained to Darren that I recently moved to Auckland and was coming in for a regular checkup. In all honesty he gave me some weird vibes, but seemed to do a routine exam by all accounts. At the end Darren suggested I needed some work done, which seemed innocent enough.
The total bill came to over $2,000.

Needless to say I was a bit shocked as I had no pain and no concerns until Alpers managed to find some.

I've just left from my old dentist in Wellington who has given me a clear bill of dental health. Total cost: $95
When I mentined my quote from Alpers he explained that what he would normally do is request old scans from the previous dentist. If Alpers had done this they would have seen that whatever they saw on their scans is all old and hasn't changed in 3+ years and therefore didn't need to be 'fixed'.

So as I say, I can't comment on the quality of dental work at Alpers. But I can comment on their process when it comes to new patients.

My 9 year old Daughter has this to say:
I had a really scary experience at another dentist's and we tried 3 times to do a filling but I was so afraid we always had to leave.
My mum and dad were worried i would have to go to hospital and be sedated. A friend of theirs told them to try a dentist that only works on kids and they found Dr Nada and even though she worked a long way away from where we live we decided to give it a go.
I was more afraid than ever when we got to the new dentists room and i had a really hard time letting Dr Nada do her work but she was really patient and nice and showed me all of the scary instruments that were going to be used and explained how she would use them.my dad stayed in the room and helped to keep me calm especially when the sleepy juice was put on my gums.that was the worst part, and is what i was most afraid of but Dr Nada was so good I hardly felt it happen. Then she did the filling and it was easy.
Dr Nada is going to do another filling soon and i am not worried at all.

I first met with the Alpers team for routine dental for my three young children. I was so impressed with their level of care and communication that I revisited to discuss what could be done for my 9 year old son's dental overcrowding and severe overbite. Alpers offer a functional dental approach - which also looked into how our son was breathing - and created a plan with our son's buy-in and compliance (including an appealing reward system!).
The team have always communicated very clearly with my son, and their level of care has consistently been well above expectations.
I couldn't more highly recommend Alpers for orthodontic work and routine dental.

Having developed a couple of 'Shark Teeth' with her adult front teeth coming down without her baby teeth falling out, my daughter needed to see the public health dentist here in Hamilton to see if they could be removed as one had started to deteriorate. Being the strong willed girl she is, she was determined not to let the dentists near her teeth and we left with the teeth still in place, and her anxiety of dentists increased ten fold.

Despite the practice being in Auckland, we booked an appointment with the team at Alpers on the back of a referral from a friend. From the first interaction, the experience was positive. We were booked in to see the dentist seven days later, and didn't have to wait for months to see them. Upon arriving at their practice, my daughter was made to feel comfortable. Our dentist, Nada, established an immediate rapport. She gradually took her through the process, keeping her calm all the way through and making my daughter feel in total control throughout. All of this meant that what I thought would be an hour and a half of tears, anguish, pain and further anxiety of dentists, ended up being a mere half hour. Furthermore, my daughter actually giggled as Nada carefully removed her front teeth.

The Alpers team are professional and clearly care for their customers. Suffice to say, we will be back again in the future, even if it means we have to endure Auckland traffic. Thank you Nada - you have no idea how much this positive experience has shaped the dentist experience for my daughter for what will probably be the rest of her life.

Had a new wire put in for my braces and it came out after eating BOILED RICE. If you are going to put a new wire make sure it can handle the simplest of foods
