Outstanding customer service, at both Westgate and Albany (thank you Laura, for all your help today. We felt really looked after). Awesome array of products, this is gonna be one well looked after pupper!

One stop place for everything about pets. Went there to get pet fishes with little knowledge about how to do setup an aquarium, however helpful and expert knowledge of staff helped us. After her valuable guidance we returned with a detailed plan on setting up aquarium and how well to take care of pet fishes. Thank you!

Just served by Makayla. Excellent and friendly and knowledgeable. Also heard other staff member (male) being same with another customer. So refreshing to find somewhere with old fashioned service like this - manners plus knowledge.

Good if you need some quickly but generally overpriced. No animals in-store any longer so its completely lost the petshop vibe.

The customer service at Animates can't be beaten. Such friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable staff. I find the pet toys very expensive, but some good specials can be found on the pet food.

Nice staff. Staff came up and asked me if they could assist in anyway and were very friendly when I said I was all good. Appeared clean and mostly organised. They had good fish as well.

Friendly and trying to help team, but it's mostly ruined by overpricing combined with the mediocre quality of goods. Do your own research before you buy anything.

Waiting 1 full week to be refunded for a click and collect item that was unavailable. The second time this has happened. I suggest Animates review the process so that transactions only go through when an item is picked, not instantly, which prevents being charged when items are not available as website suggests. Keeping better track of stock levels woukd also help prevent these situations. Store staff are friendly and pleasant, unforunately they refer the matter to Head Office who are unable to be reached.

Laura was exceptional with her service when I bought a fish tank and accessories. Guided me through everything for Fish 101. Definitely going there again for service

Don't bother buying fish from this store. They asked me to come back in on a weekend as they couldn't sell fish due to covid after 7 even though they had 2 staff on the floor.

Staff are very friendly and helpful. Always happy to engage in all pet topics. The presentation of the store is lovely and I adore the fun atmosphere.

Sales assistant names “Laura” was the rudest most condescending person I have ever met! I got spoken to like trash because I didn’t have my ID for my click and collect? Staff need to be educated on the fact that nowhere on your order confirmation does it say you even need ID! Not to mention the fact that you don’t even need ID to make the purchase online, so it makes absolutely no sense for them to require it on collection? Leave your nasty attitude at home or don’t come to work.

Disgusting customer service, definitely won’t be back.

I've been going to animates for quite a while now but heard some bad things about how they treat animals. Everyone loves seeing the animals in these types of shops but they have now taken them away which is sad. Animates has been running out of stock on a few things but other than that, you can get all the essentials which is good. Xx

Went in to get a scratching post for my 17 week old Kitten and the person who helped me recommended I try some products to both discourage her from scratching my couch and encourage her to play with the post. Amazing customer service. Quick to help and super friendly

Make sure when you buy fish at this shop, you take a sample of your home water with you, so that the sales assistant thats so over bearing and self righteous can test the water quality before she sells you a $20 fish. She never asked where we live, where we from.

She refused to sell us fish because we had our own opinion about fish. This shop is a joke, she is chasing customers away. We went to another Animate shop, bought fish, spent $300, no problem! I will not visit this shop again, unfortunately.

Not much range. Advertised a sale and got in first day but didn’t see much for kitten. Disappointed the item I wanted wasn’t there. Expensive and can find same elsewhere, but could find item on sale if really lucky. Staff busy with few customers so just left to shop at another store.

Francy was so nice with me and warmly wellcoming me and helped me in a very professional way. She teard when she knew my son was killed in chch 15th of March abd we left chch to live in Auckland. I will be a frequent customer on Sunday and Monday coz of the lovely Francy. I have a Flemish giant bunny.

Connor offered us info that was super helpful about what we were purchasing and also helped us get the huge tank and stand in the car! It was overall a great experience and we will be coming to this Animates more often!:)
