Azabu Mission Bay reviews
47The hostess was super polite and friendly, all the staff was amazing. Also the atmosphere was fantastic, nice music and nice view. The food was ok… nothing special. I expected more.
Been here a few times and if you want a fantastic food experience, then it’s worth giving this place a go.really nice, great service. Highly recommend.
Food. Fantastic
Service. Great
Atmosphere. Lovely
There is a bit of a wait on some dishes, but personally, its worth the wait, and if you choose wisely, you can graze on the dishes that come out quicker, like the volcano sushi roll, or the sashimi.
Try the Japanese inspired cocktails. Anything with Roku Gin by Suntory is a winner
The food? Delicious! But the wait? It felt like I had time to learn a new languages. Thankfully, they caught on and took one dish off the bill to apologize. All in all, killer location, decent dishes, top-notch service. We went for the two person sets plus two extra dishes, and let's just say, our wallets felt like they went on a diet. It's like aiming for a feast and ending up with more of an appetizer party – satisfying, but not the best bang for your buck!
Amazing food we love it. Book ahead if you want to get a good table my adult kids just absolutely loves it. Service is good can improve in my opinion.
We walked specifically to go to Azabu this afternoon at 4pm to have a drink and some shared plates. The restaurant maybe had 5 tables with people at them and were told they were understaffed and couldn’t serve us as they had to set tables for dinner at 5 pm.
We asked if we could stay just for a glass of wine and they said no, we are short staffed… despite 3 people behind the bar 4 other walking around and only a few tables occupied.
We left and the barman asked why we were leaving, we told him we were turned away and he said he was so sorry and rolled his eyes.
We decided to go for a walk and return to ask if we can be seated for their 5pm set up and she then said no again, despite making it sound like we only needed to wait 45 mins before!
Meanwhile, we booked at Copia… where there we 8 tables with a couple of big groups and only one waitress who was also their barman!
So disappointed at the lack of flexibility, customer first and general lack of effort at Azabu. Especially when you consider the waitress at Copia serving everyone by herself (and doing an incredible job!).
Wouldn’t even serve one drink…. Disappointing.
Constantly serving poor quality food. Very amateur. I wouldn't call it a Japanese food. For the price paid, I almost feel ripped off. Food in general very greasy. Some of the menus are premade and kept in the fridge.
Originally went for a dinner celebration service that was amazing and is booked for a work dinner again amazing service and food.
My worst restaurant experience after dining at hundreds of restaurants worldwide. I literally had my wine bottle (which I’d paid for) ripped out of my hands from manager Arabella Byrne after trying to take the label off for my souvenir book for my dads 75th birthday today - I feel shaken after she launched at me while I was holding my young sleeping baby by the front door. Manager Arabella Byrne was not welcoming or kind for my fathers 75th birthday and made for an unpleasant experience all round after spending $500+. I do not recommend it and think the company should seriously reconsider her being the face of this restaurant.
Sorry, can't justify the 37% increase on the kids bento. Used to be a fav spot, but not anymore.
Stopped by for drinks with friends. Great atmosphere and seating. Friendly and prompt service. Nice views of the beach and Rangitoto
Wonderful atmosphere, a bit chilly since it's beside the bay! But the server promptly closed the curtains. The food we ordered was spicy chicken karaage and it's delicious! Ordered some drinks as well and the service was quick. Nice experience
Wait staff really nice, just a bit mechanical and trying to push too much
Food was pretty good, but not great value. The tataki was a small bit of beef on a corn chip, with a store bought sesame dressing for $22
My company’s year end/X’mas party was hosted at Azabu. The food here pretty nice, view & vibes are amazing
Awesome location, neat setup.the food would literally compare to One tree Grill standards but good in its own cuisine. They know their meats like real well.total justice! The eggplant, pork beef lamb.my second time there and still awesome. Thanks guys ️ great food makes me happy child
Great service and atmosphere, watch the Misson Bay fountain at night. Vegas should try the cabbage.
This place has amazing vibes and right by the beach! The food is great and good service. Just a slower serving time I guess Caz they were busy. We had to clear the table by 8 but the mains only came on at 7.25?
Colorful, tasty, well presented but small portion. Every food was good. I enjoyed octopus the most and that grill flavour on octopus was over the moon:) soft shell crab was crispy. But very small portion. Good vibe on Mission Bay. Highly recommend for sunny day~
We loved this place! Great food, not too noisy (you can actually have a conversion!), excellent service. And the best location.
Great service, warm and genuine, absolutely delicious food and a beautiful space. Very attentive to dietary requirements too, thank you, can’t wait for next visit!
