Azabu Ponsonby reviews
67Outstanding service, food and value. Had the tasting menu, and it was nothing short of spectactular. Wait staff explained each menu item, each course was beautifully presented and a perfect amount of food meant we left satisfied. Loved it.
Good food and service, the food came out in a constant stream as we had lots of sides and starters. Pricey but mostly worth it.
We had an amazing experience fine dining at Azabu, served by a lovely young lady with dark brown hair and beautiful skin. She was amazing at her job and ensured we had a pleasant time. We will definitely come back to have her service!
All class. Employees left desperate to receive the full amounts of the wage subsidies after the company had made applications under their names, but were only paid based on their minimum contracted hours of three hours each and pocketed the rest.
The flavours and culinary artisry that are created at Azabu rival Simon Wright's original French Cafe. This reasonably priced dining is fantastic and should not be missed in Auckland. With two locations to choose from you can select the ambiance for you to best enjoy a truly exceptional gastronomic experience. The Ponsonby location has a hopping vibe to it with a palpable energy. The Mission Bay location features gorgeous water views and a more relaxed expansive and open dining area. The food is consistent and is devine at both locations. Their cocktails and inspired and delicious, make the time to eat here and enjoy a shared dinner Japanese/Peruvian Tapas style, you will not be disappointed!
Really good food and nice design. It's a bit on the pricy side but you pay for a high quality food and cuisine! So many dishes I want to try (the octopus was to die for and the ceviche platter so yummy!)
After getting so many recommendations to try this place, I finally visited and loved it! The service was incredible, the food was so yum, and the cooks were very accommodating to my allergies. Highly recommend:)
Simply out, incredible! There's a reason this place is as popular as it is. Always a great time, great service, excellent food.
Amazing food and atmosphere. Ordered a lot of dishes for our group and all were delicious! But we were forgotten about at the back of the restaurant- we had to wait 20 mins to order our first drink.
The set menu at this place is an absolute rip off,
Half the food for twice the price.
Other than that, food is usually great and value from the normal menu is decent, just don't go in a group as you'll leave feeling hungry and ripped off
Customer service was great and the food even better. This is one of my favourite places to eat in Auckland with an amazing atmosphere
A very busy restaurant with good service. The lady who served us gave a good suggestion to try out the dessert.
Dishes: Snapper Ceviche, Rainbow Rolls, Nikkei steak, Tempura, dessert
Azabu ponsonby is one of my favorite Japanese restaurant in AKL until yesterday (15 April) night. We went for a dinner and middle of the meal, one of the bar staff saw the cockroach and killed it.but didn’t clean it up until we leave the restaurant. I understand this could happen (because it never happened after so many visit) but I think the staff should have cleaned it out? Very disappointed and shocked. I couldn’t finish my mean even if we paid more than $150.
Fantastic place with delicious Peruvian/Japanese food including tempura dishes, delicious ceviche platters, sushi, tempura dumplings and most importantly amazing buns. The cocktails are wonderfully presented and are delectable too, although sometimes on the small side depending on which one you order.
One of the best Japanese restaurant in Auckland. No matter what I ordered, always be surprised by the amazing taste. Must try their season menu. Good service, specially compare with Cocoro, kids are always welcome in Azabu. Cocoro hate kids.
Absolutely fantastic food!
Super high quality and was great fusion, pleasantly surprised.
The steak and tataki were 10/10 amazing
This restaurant is seamless, delivering high quality original food, with deep and understanding flavours. The wait staff are absolute professionals, and the toilets have a very good flush.
Food came out incredibly slow. Good quality and was delicious but the poor/dim lighting made it hard to read menus and was a massive strain on the eyes
The entrance is subtle and easy to miss. When you walk in you'll find yourself in a cosy space with the chic dark bar/restaurant feel. The waitstaff were prompt and happy to help. The food was delicious, though pricey as it is upper end. The flavours are exquisite and the food was all cooked very well. We ordered 2 mains and a small plate to share between 2 of us, and I think I was happy not to come out feeling bloated, but I think if you're a guy, or just have a bit appetite, you may need to order more which would mean spending around $60-70pp or more. I'd recommend it for if you want to splash out on a special night:)
Poor service to start, could not even get a water for over 20mins. Food was good, nice atmosphere and once we'd been seated (10 mins after our booking time), service picked up
