Marvellous service this morning, with the "tree people" onsite today to cut back the overhanging branches from trees that were not planted on this property but were brushing now up against the guttering and threatening the power line that serves both units. As well as making the bedrooms gloomy and cold.making it difficult to walk/park at that side of my unit.
I recently moved to Australia from Auckland and my property manager was Esther Allen-Davis. She helped me with moving out formalities very smoothly and also helped ending my lease early by talking to the property owner.
We recently dealt with Esther Allen-Davis from the New Lynn branch. We are really impressed with the Zoom viewing she had organised for around 35 applicants. Her attention to detail was exceptional while showing us around the property and gave us all an opportunity to ask questions. She didn't miss a single part of the property through the viewing via Zoom. Her customer service and communication throughout the process and even through the final stage of the application process was great. She is a great addition to the B&F team and we are stoked to have her as our Property Manager. Highly recommend her and her team at the New Lynn branch.
Great online viewing over zoom of a rental property. We were surprised how well we could see the place without being there with the help of Patricia, an agent from this branch. She was friendly and efficient and showed us the property well from the comfort of our own home!

Employed Neer Mehta from here. Was misled and pressured to accept a lower price. I thought as a vendor, the agent would be working for me. In reality, he working for himself. Neer Mehta was the perfect example of every negative stereotype of a real estate agent. Neer even blocked a potential offer from another branch. Certainly did everything in his own self interest. Branch manager gave me a silent wall when I tried contacting him.
A difference of $300-500 in commission is a lost of $10,000-$40,000 for the vendor.
Settlement turned out highly stressful and contentious. Not sure what lip service Neer gave to the buyer, but I was served notice for compensation.
'Trust me, Im doing my best' said Neer.
Ended up getting royally farked. Avoid at all costs!
This company often isn't pleasant to work with. We had a revolving door of property managers during 3 years of being there. The rent was regularly increased with no improvements made to the property. The property managers were dismissive and lacked tact.
Motivated hardworking staffs and helpful agents. We worked with agents for example Miguel who was helping us getting our home. Though we didn't end up purchase with New Lynn team but was greatful to have the help.
I employed agents Alex Wu and Anna Letchchinski to list my property and they are not honest agents in my opinion. In order to get their substantial commission I was pressured, misinformed and grossly misled. Avoid them!
Very unstable management team be prepared to have changes every few months with property management.
Just received a threatening letter for breach of Tenancy contract over $17.36. They never contacted us about the bill and the first we’ve heard about it is a disgusting letter. We’ve never missed a rent payment, they’ve promised to do repairs to the property for months and months but haven’t delivered on the regulatory repairs that need to be made. There is still no smoke detector in the hall way which they themselves said is illegal, and was supposed to be rectified prior to the house being leased in May.
Extremely disappointed in their customer service and their ‘lip service’ in rectifying our maintenance. All mouth, no trousers. I’m currently looking for a Real Estate agent in Chc to sell my 3 rentals. This experience has raised flags against the Barfoot & Thompson brand and I’d highly recommend to give them a wide berth.
As a landlord myself I would not inflict these property managers on my own tenants.
I will move forward with a compliant to the Real Estate Agents Authority.
