Bathrooms and Kitchens North Shore

From the initial consultation, through planning, costing, choosing materials to the actual work in progress Jason and Gerhard made the whole process of repairing and remodeling our bathroom and toilet as easy and painless as possible. All done on time and the quality of the work is of a very high standard. Couldn't be happier with the result. Highly recommend this company.

Jason and Gerhard were both professional and very honest with costings, timing and overall handling of the work done. There were some minor adjustments with the quote but over all everything went very smooth except the glass install at the very end coming in a tiny bit later than expected but this was not their fault. Very happy with the job from start to finish highly recommend!

We had the team at Bathrooms and Kitchens North Shore renovate our home and my wife and I were so impressed with the whole process I can't recommend them more highly. From the start Jason had everything organised, leaving us plenty of time to make decisions with no nasty surprises. I had heard that such an undertaking was a stressful time but I honestly say that it was stress free. Best thing was that they totally delivered in terms of timelines and budget.

We engaged Bathrooms and Kitchens North Shore to renovate all our 3 bathrooms. Jason came and we discussed what we wanted to do - he gave his professional opinion which we appreciated. Gerhard was assigned to the job and the renovation was managed brilliantly - this include making appointments for us to choose the bathroom vanity and tiles. Great communication and project was completed within our budget and what was quoted. The quality of the work was great. Highly recommended

Bathrooms and Kitchens Northshore undertook a full renovation of our bathroom, laundry and spare toilet earlier this year. The communication with Jason during the design and budgeting stage was great, he was always responsive and quick to reply and suggest options. The renovation itself ran smoothly and was completed on time. Gerhard and the team did a great job at keeping the project on time and kept us informed with any minor issues along the way. They were always able to add on additional work we asked for that was not part of the original scope which was appreciated. The overall workmanship was of a high standard and we are very pleased with the final result. We would not hesitate to recommend them.

I highly, highly recommend Bathrooms and Kitchens North Shore - I had them in to renovate our bathroom, W/C and ensuite and their service was faultless. The renovation was managed brilliantly and they were also responsive to any changes I wanted to make, like a last mintue decision to tile the ensuite to the ceiling instead of halfway! The quality of the work was flawless and I am so thrilled with the results. Excellent communication and tradespeople were used and the project was completed on budget as it was quoted accurately as well. This company does exactly what it says on the label. No BS. They are really amazing. No egos and they work according to the plan. No mucking about. Gerhard is a great Project Manager and very pleasant to work with. The contractors are really good. Especially the tilers. WOW. The tile job is flawless. We couldn't be happier. We have booked them for our second bathroom and highly recommend NS Bathrooms and Kitchens.

We did 2 bathrooms, 1 kitchen and the entry hallway with them.

Pros:
The end result was OK. Not perfect by any means, but you know, in the end all right.

Cons:
* They have shown no consideration for the rest of the house and our things
* They straight up refused to do things that were absolutely their job to do, for quite debatable reasons.
* There were a lot of things that were initially done incorrectly showing quite an obvious lack of care, some of them major.
* They are very busy, which means that if you want something and is not easy to do or you want something that is not in the initial contract or you want to adjust something, they can't do it. If they do anything wrong, the A team has no time to go back and fix it and the B team will come and patch it later however they can.
* They are very expensive. For the 2 bathrooms and 1 kitchen with no appliances included we paid 115.000 NZD. Nothing fancy, not cheap, but not top either. To give you an idea, all our tiles were 45-55NZD/sqm. We were aware at the time we contracted them, based on the other quotes we received, that they are like 20%+ more expensive than the rest of similar companies and probably 40%+ if you were to hire/manage your own crews. As the work progressed and we asked other companies for quotes for individual pieces of work every time B&K NS were anywhere from 30% to 100% more expensive.
* They failed even the reason we accepted the 30%+ extra expense. They finished the 4 weeks job in more than 7 weeks. We ended up having in the last 3 weeks anywhere from 1 to 3 contractors a day showing up at pretty much random hours (even 7AM) with little to no warning. There were that many things left to do or fix and some of them took multiple attempts.
* They are not a “renovation company”. They are a “project management of renovations” company. They don't have 7 people that are employed by them and take pride in their work and the good name of their company and work like a team. B&K NS contracts jobs and then allocates the project manager, whom deals with sourcing the work crews and managing them throughout the project as good as he can. They don't really have full control on the quality and professionalism of the people involved (they literally contract other companies that have their own personnel (probably those being contractors at their turn) and they are also pretty low on assuming responsibility when things go south. So you don't truly know who you will get and how good of a job they'll do. Maybe my A team was actually their B team, who knows. Otherwise I can't imagine why we had such an over-expensive and at the same time so disappointing experience. Even our feedback was met with fake outrage and disregarded as lacking true understanding of what is involved.

I would definitely NOT recommend this company.

Jason and his team from Bathroom and Kitchens were superb to deal with. They completed both a bathroom and kitchen renovation for me prior to the end of 2020.
The whole project was completed within 4 weeks to a brilliant standard and has left me with a modern, beautiful new kitchen and bathroom that is exactly what I was looking for,
Gerhard, who project managed the project was great to deal with, no question was an issue and he took the stress out of the project. The team put forward solutions to problems incurred, and offered their advice on the little things that make a real difference to the overall project.
I can't recommend these guys enough, they made my first renovation project seem like a dream - too easy to be honest, on time and within budget. If I need, I'll be reaching out to the team again.

Wow what a terrific company to deal with. Right from quoting for the job, the workmen on site and the co-ordination of the project manager - I'd highly recommend this company for refurbishing your bathroom, no matter what the size or complexity, Jason and his team are second to none, and not only do a superb job, but give good advice and guidance along the way. Nothing is too much trouble and best of off they keep the site clean and tidy along the way.

Very pleased with the final result in renovation of two bathrooms & a kitchen in an apartment, which comes with its own obstacles. Jason listened to what we wanted, provided good tradesmen and ended up with a quality project within the initial costings.

Jason was an excellent project manager we were extremely pleased and confident in Jason’s ability to get the job done. We were given a schedule for the four weeks work. Every tradesman turned up as scheduled. The work was of a high standard and the end result was a fabulous bathroom.

You went over and beyond, making hard decisions easier and simpler to make so we could focus on being new parents. We know about the costs upfront (quote is pretty bang on the money) and having the ability to spread payments over a few installments throughout the project is definitely a plus!

Communication is what breaks down projects sand slows things down. Jason and Heidi are pros at communicating effectively, so highly recommended.

We are super happy with our beautiful new ensuite! Jason and his team are great to deal with, the guys turned up on time and everything went to schedule despite the Easter break falling on our scheduled reno weeks. Now I'm eyeing up our main bathroom.
