We’re staying at 51 Makora Ave on Waiheke Island. It’s not an inexpensive rental but there is a powerful smell of urine emanating from the main bathroom (it wasn’t me I swear). I’ve tried everything (and I’m a capable cleaner). And the Be My Guest Help number is disconnected. Not impressed. However in fairness once we did manage to communicate (via e mail etc) all was sorted so revised to 4 stars immediately

My husband and I booked 2 nights in a small home for a mid winter break, our first in absolute ages. On the first morning we were startled to see 3 men wandering around the back garden to service the spa tub. They didn’t announce themselves or make clear who they were or what they were doing. This would have been a minor annoyance but then the lawn guys showed up to mow and use the trimmer.

I had a mobile massage therapist scheduled and I’m still not sure if the lawns will be done by the time she arrives. I was hoping to be able to do the massage out on the deck, which is part of why we chose this place. There have now been men here since 8: 30 and it’s almost 12.

We rang the property manager and they were totally unsympathetic and just said that they had a maintenance schedule to follow. Given that we paid a good deal of money to rent the place, it seems extremely rude that they would carry out maintenance while we are on our holiday. Maintenance should be conducted when the home is not rented. And if someone must come, guests should be told to expect someone and when to expect them.

I won’t be renting from this place again. My first trip away in over 15 months and I’ve spent my morning dealing with strangers intruding into the space I paid to relax and enjoy.

Edit: 2.5 hours later and there is still a gardener here.

Be my guest was a fabulous company to deal with.
Friendly informative communication by Miranda and her team.
The house was very clean photos were exactly as the property was.
Clear instructions for getting entry into the property and leaving.
Highly recommend this company

Good range of properties but they are too expensive.
Some properties are tired/over-used and not in good condition.
BMG does not take feedback well. Cleaning is poor.
Do not expect much support or service once checked in.

Good range of homes for holiday lets. Quite expensive properties and they make no effort to allow you to view any when unoccupied to ascertain whether they are suitable or not. When homes are about $1000 to $3000 a night, you should be able to view if at all possible and within reason if you are spending big money.

We absolutely loved our family holiday at Wakainga booked through Be My Guest Waiheke.
From go to whoa everything was seamless which made for a very relaxing holiday.
We highly recommend using Be My Guest Waiheke who find the perfect holiday home to suit.

Disappointed with their refund policy - due to Covid restrictions I couldn’t attend my birthday weekend away. This company kept some of my money plus credit card fees.

The Be My Guest staff on Waiheke Island was excellent. The property was ready on time, immaculately clean, and when there was a difficulty with wifi due to an island-wide outage they came through brilliantly. The test of an excellent service company is their performance when there is a problem. Be My Guest came through with flying colors even though the problem wasn't theirs. I travel a lot and I'd give this company a 6th star. I have already booked another rental with them. They are the best in my book.

We initially rented through Be My Guest and found the team to be brilliant to deal with. We have since bought a property and BMG are managing it for us.
