Beast & Butterflies Auckland reviews
53Arrived after lunch service had finished but were welcomed in. Was not disappointed with the food in fact it was supurb. We shared 3 entrees and a side of brocolini. Beautiful flavors. Will definitely return to try the main courses.
Elegant spot for a business lunch, cocktails or dinner. Attentive service and good menu options.
I’ve been in this restaurant for lunch. It was not crowed, maybe for dinner there are more people. It’s beautiful and quiet. Staff is nice and the service is quite fast. I took a ceviche, it was very savory (but not real Peruvian ceviche) and the fish of the day (Snapper) that was good. The dishes have a good presentation. Great variety of good wines.
Was not sure about this place as it's part of a mid tier hotel chain. It was a pleasant surprise for us. The food was amazing and the dining environment is super chill and welcoming. The service provided by our waitress is top notch and cannot find any fault with her.
Food are all amazing and very well presented. The desert menu is tiny, but the quality is so good it's almost became the highlight of the entire dining experience.
Recommended!
Really great fresh food. Cooked to a great standard and lovely compliments from sauces. The espresso martini was one of the best I've had.
I ordered the ceviche and market beef cut.
I was ordering from the spring set menu.
Would come back to try their full selection!
9/10
Very tasty menu, the steak was cooked to perfection! Cocktails we’re a little boring unfortunately.
The restaurant is part of the M Social hotel. We only had the breakfast buffet here. It had the typical western continental breakfast spread. The staff was very nice. The restaurant had a relaxed vibe with nice and comfortable seating/decor.
We stopped in for a reservation Monday to discover they don't serve a full menu on Sunday and Monday
I had a great market fish and a coffee from a barista for lunch with my friends.
All of my friends loved food and thinks to friendly staff.
We will come back again.
I did not like the service at all here, we came in and barely anyone acknowledged us.they made us pay before we got our food even though others were paying after.
I absolutely LOVE this place, they have the prettiest and best drinks! The staff are so sweet and friendly as well, especially one of the girls named wajdan (probably spelled her name wrong) she’s so kind and lovely. Most definitely going back just to be served by her
Food was delicious, but Natasha’s service was what stood out the whole night! She was so friendly and helpful and instantly gave very positive vibes. She is an ASSET to the business and we hope she is treated like gold there.
Thank you Natasha!
In town from San Francisco, had a DELICIOUS dinner here with my fiancé. The flavors of each dish were perfectly balanced. Presentation and vibes are beautiful too. Highly recommend dinner here!
One of our BEST DINE OUT EXPERIENCES IN 2022 A+ recommended
Andy was fabulous and absolutely amazing services. It was our first time dined with our best friend’s marriage pre dinner. We arrival prior the bride and groom’s, Andy was really friendly invited us seated and served with drinks. He actually originally from my neighborhood country after introduced each other. He absolutely have a good work ethic and enthusiasm to comforting people to stay-in for long whole night for foods, drinks and chatting. Andy you made our night even more special and wonderful ever expected. Foods definitely freshly, scrumptious, divine and cooked with our expectation. The ribeye, roasted duck, fish, prawns pad Thai, grilled broccolini are recommended. Thank you and complimentary to the chefs….
Boon, young and energetic bartender’s, very well skilled, good sense of humour, loved his tremendous enthusiasm, he shakes me a special way of cocktail with perfectly strong and delicious full mouth of flavours which I can’t describe just in few words. I’m end up had 4 kind of scrumptious drinks in our special moments celebration. Admired your shakes…Well done Boon and thank you for being so kind to made me all the drinks which I did not even needs to ordering from menu or describe much. It was really fantastic throughout the night at the bar.
Looking forward to see you guys again soon after our trip. Wish you, Boon and rest of the others have wonderful time in this Xmas and new years holiday seasons without lockdowns restrictions again. Keep it ups guys
Warmest regards,

We dined at Beast and Butterfly and were given such excellent service.
Located in the viaduct with such a fabulous location and views of the waterfront.
The food was fresh and presented beautifully, cervice decorated with delicate flowers and well seasoned, nice and tangy and delicious, as was the Bang Bang chicken salad.
The Coffee was excellent, couldnt fault it. The desert creme brulee was a sizeable proportion and a modern presentation.
The toilets were immaculately clean.
We would definately go back, and manager NIGEL made us most welcome.
Thankyou so much for a pleasurable experience.
We stayed in hotel for 2 nights with Viking group. The staff for lunch, Abbas and then Vijayah, were outstanding in the attentive service they provided. Sharing their recommendations with us. Professional YET personable and friendly. And then the breakfast staff were amazingly friendly and efficient under pressure with a crush of people, some if whom were very impatient.
We are so grateful for the kindness of the staff as they smiled through! Thank you!
This place was really great. It was a bit busy, and the staff were really apologetic about the wait but it really wasn’t that bad. Unlike other reviews we found the customer service was great. We got a couple things to share, but in particular the duck was really great & tender. The lemon lime bitters also tasted really fresh it was surprisingly really nice. Its a bit on the pricer end, but definitely recommend giving this place a try
Some spectacular food! I was blown away by the Kingfish Ceviche which is an absolute delight. All the food was great and the views over the water make the experience very pleasing. The service was personalised and attentive. If you are up for a special night I recommend you experience it
We had never been here before and because we were in the city meeting with a friend we decided to give it a go. I'm delighted to say our gamble paid off in spades as there was not a single thing we could fault. From the decor and ambiance to charming the attentive waitress and the innovative and simply delicious food, we could not find fault with anything. It was quite simply perfect and not only would we hasten to return, but would highly recommend B and B as a restaurant no to be missed.
Highly recommended. Conveniently located in the Viaduct Harbour and close to the National Maritime Museum. Beautiful experience from stepping into the foyer to receiving the car keys back. Lovely friendly service, warm and welcoming. I rate Beast and Butterflies a 5 for excellent service and food. Rainer looked very well after us, good-humoured and cheerful. We got a few starters to share which was delicious, Tuna Ceviche excellent, and so were the Cauliflower Popcorn, Korean chicken, and Bang Bang chicken salad. In hindsight we could have continued having the starters, they were scrumptious! Mains we had variety of dishes, and all agreed it was delicious. Wok fire prawns, Roasted duck, Beef short rib, King prawn pad thai, Fried rice and Aged sirloin. The salad served with the mains were crisp and very fresh. Dessert was 50-50 chocolate mouse and crème brûlée, equally delectable. The Irish coffees were rated “second best in the world” by the jetsetters! Hats off to the chefs, they did their profession proud, beautiful plates of deliciousness, served by a joyful Rainer and team. Portions are generous and having starters and mains, we could have shared the desserts. We celebrated a birthday, and the chefs prepared a special birthday dessert which was highly appreciated, cherry on the cake for a most enjoyable evening! One aspect that needs attention is the bar service but understand staff/visa issues are a real challenge in the post-pandemic climate. Thank you Beast and Butterflies at the MSocial Auckland
