Bellini Bar reviews
54The "High Tea" was absolutely delicious. Great selection of very tasty nibbles. Peach tea was very refreshing. Staff were extremely helpful and pleasant. The "Ice Cream Bonbons" were yum and served in a most excellent way. I am pretty sure I shall be returning for a repeat experience. A "Smashing Time" was had by all who came. It was also noted that the hand cream in the Ladies Powder Room was exquisite.
I got high tea during their Christmas season, so the menu had some holiday touches with the food. I’ll give a review of each dish below for any foodies. Atmosphere and service was good, very attentive and a good view. I also received some Manuka honey as an additional gift.
Food review
French earl grey tea: Very fragrant, light, and smooth with such a nice aroma. I highly recommend.
Cured kingfish in puri: It was alright, not a lot of flavor but I could taste the coconut. Puri was not crisp but slightly chewy and the kingfish had a mild flavor.
Prawn toast: One of the best savoury dishes, both buttery and savoury with a delicious touch of sour with the lime pearls that wasn’t too overwhelming.
Parmesan shortbread: A little dry, the ricotta did not balance the dryness of the toast enough but the pickled onions cut through the grease well.
Wagyu sausage roll: Not a hit, the roll was dry and oily. The black garlic purée was nice but I did not like the flavor of the roll as a whole, I tasted a sour undercurrent that was not a good fit.
Hoisin smoked chicken sandwich: Nothing spectacular, I could not taste much hoisin flavor and there’s was a little too much sesame that it got everywhere as you ate.
Christmas ham brioche roll: I was not that wowed, the roll was mediocre and no flavors stood out. The bread reminded me of something I could get at any Asian bakery.
Scone: The scone itself was good but the whipped honey butter was too heavy with the dense scone, would have preferred clotted cream or more whip so that it was lighter.
Christmas tree: The wafer was too sweet and made the whole dessert overly sweet since the mousse itself was already on the sweet side.
Orange almond cupcake: it was alright, not dry and a refreshing fruit flavor. Too much cream though the bee was cute.
Mango mousse: Beautiful presentation, mousse was light and I liked the sesame wafer.
Cheesecake: My favourite as I liked the shape and the jelly was an interesting addition to the cheesecake.
Ice cream bon bon: very fun with the smoke,
Champagne: they offer a non-alcoholic version, which I opted for. Very delicious and bubbly.
Amazing high tea, gorgeous setting and yummy treats! Highly recommend. We received great service and a free lipstick too!
All round great experience! Food and service was amazing and it comes with a beautiful view!
Very pleasant. Beautiful view, good service and an extensive wine list. Probably better in summer with the doors open.
It’a beautiful place to have a high tea with friends and family. Bubbles, tea and a set of snacks with wide range of dessert available at $89 per person. Vegetarian options are available. It was also pink ribbon themed, raising beast cancer awareness. The staff was very friendly and attentive.
Yummy cocktails, great atmosphere on Friday night, with some live music and moody casual vibe. Good for chatting.
Fantastic high tea today, interesting and delicious offerings in a beautiful location.couldn’t fault a thing. And a special thank you to Virginia for sorting us out when there was a mixup with our reservation.
Amazing cocktails! Highly recommend the Meg! Kathleen was a fab waitress- best customer service I’ve had by far in Auckland!
This was a Christmas gift from my son and his family for his Aunties, Uncle, mother and 90 year old Nana. What a fantastic experience, food was Devine starter being savouries ending with sweets and a hot drink. Oddly enough the male in our group said the food was filling.
Staff were helpful starting from the person outside and staff waiting on us.
A gift I would recommend.
High Tea on Saturday
For the price, it was ok. Great service. Very good coffee. It was very disappointing to receive sausage roll (looked & teased like pre frozen)!
Hilton can do better.
I went to this High Tea with my friends (we were 3) and it was a great experience. The food was amazing (I am French so I have high standard), good quantity, they were very welcoming and the place is gorgeous. Even if it is a little pricy, I really worth it, I will come back!
Amazing place! The service from the staff here is beyond great. They make you feel welcome. The food is very tasty and their drinks are delicious. We love coming here when we stay at the hotel. The prices are reasonable too.
I went for High Tea with my family for my birthday and they created an unreal and magical experience. Lovely and polite staff, clean and tidy and a beautiful atmosphere
How good is this place! Absolutely stunning internal design - ocean and ship/yacht themes throughout the bar which is in the Hilton hotel lobby, very spacious and private sitting areas and great cozy fireplaces. Ample sitting area inside and outside. The location is fantastic - right on the pier with 180 degrees view of the water. Bar food is very well done and creative - eg pork cheeks croquettes. Coffee is great too, perfectly roasted and smooth.
With or without food, it is a great place to relax and enjoy the great interiors and the surrounding ocean.
The view and vibe are excellent. The menu was hit and miss with some tasting great, some lacking flavour. The service were also inconsistent, one was rude and felt condescending the other was kind and polite. Overall 3 star. Focus on your service and you’ll easily get to 4, then rethink the high tea menu because it was just so-so. The scone for example could’ve been better.
We enjoyed a delicious tea here with our two young children. Had the WOW factor! With dried ice mini ice creams and the most delicious array of savories and cakes. We will be back! The staff were very kind to my son too who saw the sparkly black piano and asked to play! A wonderful family memory, Thank you)
Shocking service! Had a group of 10 people, couldn’t even get water!
No cutlery, no drinks, hideously high bill in the end!
Bar stuff had no interest in serving us!
Great place for cocktails but it's the pretzels that keep me coming back haha! They also have a dessert menu (which I've yet to try out but will do so on the next visit. My favourite cocktail is the G Ring and if it isn't your favourite then there is a plethora of drinks to choose from as their drinks menu is quite extensive. Great ambience and the bar staff are usually helpful and friendly.
Great ambience and views. Great service but the "Champagne and Opera" night was hugely disappointing. We were there for 50 minutes and in that time there were only three songs and they were really not good. Keeping in mind the experience was only an hour long, so we assumed there would have been one more song but we could not be bothered waiting for it. It's a pity, it is a good idea - just badly executed.
