The food is delicious and the service is friendly.
If there were any downsides, it was that the hot cocoa was overly sweet and served in a glass that was hot to the touch.

Dropped by for lunch after picking strawberries and bnb at Coastesville. Good food and ambience with very friendly and smiley staff. Miniature playground was a welcome activity for my toddler while waiting for food

Amazing service, friendly greeting from the front of house staff and the waiter was on time with coffees, waters and coffee cup removal to. Epic vibes with the fire burning in the middle of the room.
Enjoyed the most delicious Almond latte. Well done and highly recommended.

Oh wow, let me share my experience at the Black Cottage Cafe. The hot chocolate there is absolutely delightful, with its rich and creamy flavor. The cottage itself is a picturesque beauty, reminiscent of a charming fairytale setting. Additionally, they have a well-designed playground that offers a fun-filled experience. It's the perfect spot to unwind, indulge in delicious treats, and enjoy a great time. I highly recommend visiting this lovely cafe!

Staff are super friendly and attentive. Food is consistently excellent. Salmon Benedict and the fish cakes are my favourite. The snapper and the chicken salad are also up near the top! Will always be back.oh and also. Amisfield Rose.good!

Yesterday I droped in for some brunch. I ordered the seafood chowder. A massive disapointment. It was a bowl of chowder sauce with truly next to zero seafood. One small shrimp.no fish, part of a musel cut into fine bits and a bit of squit that was like rubber. Not at all what the menu made out. I had my coffee and will nver return. For $27.00 not at all of an enjoyable cafe experience. The service was great and the cafe is clean but your food is dissapointing.

A very nice place to eat, would recommend to reverse a table before hand, but the food was very filling and the pastry was also delicious

Excellent food, love the beef cheeks, gets chocka with locals. Traffic flow to the outdoor dining is tight so maybe needs a look and reconfiguring of the seating so customers aren't constantly hit by or asked to move to make way for other patrons.

Stopped off here for morning takeaway coffee lots of times and always consistently good. Had a nice brunch here too this week. Thank you, highly recommend

Have dined here many times, always impressed with the quality of the service and the delicious meals. Brought friends from Perth here today who were equally as delighted.
This place is a culinary gem and I can't recommend it highly enough. Pity the ratings only go up to 5 stars, 10 stars would be more appropriate.

Poached eggs on sourdough done to perfection. Coffee was excellent too. Friendly staff. Highly recommended.

My workmate and I showed up to a delivery for a wedding at the Coatesville hall an hour early so we thought let's go have breakfast and so glad we did!
Although pricey, it was worth every cent.

A very welcome discovery. We literally were passing by and decided to have some breakfast. Food and service is pretty good for the price. Special mention for their carrot cake.

I love going to the black cottage. I used to live 20mins drive from here and would buy my coffee from here every Saturday and sunday but unfortunately moved away 4 weeks ago, drove 45mins this morning to go to the best coffee place on the shore and unfortunately coffee was bad and price had increased hugely. Milk in the coffee was burnt and had to wait 20mins before I could drink it and the price for a small flat white has now gone to $5.90. I don't mind paying that for a good coffee but this was far from it.
