Did not try their main, only the soup. The French onion soup and creamy mushroom soup was good. The service staff was very attentive, warm and friendly. Recommended.

If you are looking for an amazing experience with your significant other or to spoil someone on a special occasion this is the place to take them. You are greeted by two friendly ladies (Sam), in fact all the wait staff are friendly and helpful. The have good knowledge of the menu and pairing wines with the food. I have had the Peking duck a number of times and absolutely love it. The flavour are rich and the meat is tender. The chicken liver pate is also a must try. It’s smooth and creamy. I just wish it came with more crostini. I am a big fan of gyoza and couldn’t reside these. They were finished off with a quick hit deep fry which I think finished them off nicely. The meat inside was tender and flavoursome. My husband always has some variation of the steaks they have on offer. The meat is always cooked exactly how he asked for it. Side are ordered additionally. There is an extensive wine and cocktail list. I highly recommend this restaurant if you want to spoil someone.

Lovely food, amazing service, & friendly staff. The lovely lady at the till even gave us an umbrella as we were leaving so we could get to our car without getting soaked in the pouring rain! Such a great experience! 10/10

Was disappointed with our visit we were made to feel very unwelcome we were not seated at the time we were booked and were forgotten about at the bar the bartenders however were fantastic and were attentive

Once seated we ordered our food I had the rump steak which I requested to be cooked well done it came out med rare when I sliced the middle had to have it returned back to the kitchen to recook which seems to be a trend with the other reviews I have read I had high hopes with this place due to the prices and setting I would probably need to visit again to change my review as unsure whether it was a one off night

The maitre looked like she didn’t wanna be there a smile or acknowledgement would of been nice not sure if it was due to us looking out of place (I won’t say what I really want to say) To compensate our waiter was bloody fantastic he was very welcoming and friendly he deserves a raise! Unfortunately I would recommend dining at Sails where we dined the night after this visit the service there is exceptional from the moment you walk in and there food is superb!

Five full star reviews can allude to different scenarios. In this case, it means that I'm absolutely blown away by how good this restaurant was. First off, the steak was tender and delicious, cooked to perfection without being overly raw or over cooked. Also, the decor throughout the restaurant echoes that of a premium, high-end lounge. The cheerful staff also perfectly delivers the wonderful Kiwi hospitality. For those who want to try the authentic Kiwi steak experience, Botswana sure is a great choice (It's also conveniently located right in the Ferry Building)!

This is one of the nicest restaurants I've had the pleasure of visiting in Auckland. The staff is well trained and friendly. The food is ok, noticed some changes from the last time I was there, my first experience was great, the second time I left feeling disappointed. The restaurant is tastefully decorated and the visible wine cellar is a great visual element.
The restaurant could offer something on the menu from Botswana, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Namibia or even South Africa, with a name like Botswana Butchery, you'd expect maize porridge or some traditional elements on the menu.

Sadly I won't be back, the lovely atmosphere and staff do not offset the cost of each visit.

Dined here for my partner's birthday. The atmosphere was lovely. The staff were so friendly and helpful. The food was absolutely amazing.

Loveliest dinner we had in Queenstown. Though my wife and I didn’t have a reservation, they kindly seated us in the private room with a fireplace. We ordered the beef tongue and octopus, both of which were very delectable. I had the venison tenderloin and my wife had the salmon. The salmon was buttery with crispy skin, and the venison had an excellent sear that preserved the tenderness. The waitstaff were extremely helpful in guiding us through the impressive menu. Excellent food that’s well worth it and a must try after a long hike or ski run.

Great customer service, amazing food and cocktails. We had the lamb shoulder to share with some sides, soups as entrees and a couple of desserts. Highly recommend this place!

We had our original lunch venue cancel on us without warning on 2nd January and we walked into Botswana Butchery not expecting much. The restaurant was operating with limited staff, but despite of that and not having a reservation, we received wonderful food and impeccable service. We are extremely impressed with how the staff handled the situation and the food was beyond good. Thank you so much for saving the day and we shall definitely be back and advertise the place to our friends. We also hope to return for a birthday party soon.

An amazing evening. The staff were so attentive and friendly especiallyDavid our waiter. The food was out of this world. So pleased my husband choose here to celebrate our 20th Anniversary.

My family’s meals where good but when it came to my steak it was chewy tasteless and had a very thick crust was not happy with it and they were pretty rude when we told them it was not good.

The food was good but it would be better if they have everything available that's listed on the menu. Maybe it was due to the public holidays that they don't have everything available.

Great service, friendly and attentive but possibly the worst entree we have ever had. Don’t order the calamari! Tiny piece of calamari inside extremely big and dense batter, was worse than the local fish and chip shop. It’s pretty much dry batter. Mains were good, and husband loved beef cheek.overall not worth the $$.

The food was delicious and beautifully plated and service was attentive. Our server Rick was friendly and helpful.

Took my partner here for his Christmas present and at first was a bit weary at how expensive everything was but my god this place did not disappointed. The pork belly although a small portion was exceptional along with the sauce and the apple that came with it. The wagyu steak was cooked perfectly and was full of flavour and went well with the green peppercorn sauce that we chose to go with it. Overall was very impressed with the quick attentive service my partner says it's the best he's experienced in this country! Would definitely recommend this place and we will be back for special occasions.

Don't bother with this place. The service was stressed and one of the waitress was rude and frustrated we had called for her to ask for drinks. The food was over priced and a major let down, my fiancé chose this place hoping to propose to me there but after our food and the attitude of staff the mood was ruined.

Great food! Everyone enjoyed their meal. The person looking after our table was also very pleasant and helpful!
