Brick Bay Wines & Sculpture Trail reviews
76Well worth the visit. A great art sculpture trail, backed up with some nice wines and food
This is an amazing setting and I've been here few times. However this last visit was vastly different in terms of service and atmosphere. The much younger staff were exempt from this feedback as they were on other tables and general support service. They also were pleasant to deal with. However, the waitress we had was glum and unhelpful. When i asked about the wine She replied "read the wine notes on the men". When I asked about the menu and her thoughts she said "it's a new menu" I responded and said "yes but what are the highlights, what's not to miss? " She replied "as I said it's a new menu". Delivered to food and plonked it down without saying what it was" Cleared plates without asking "how was it? Let alone asking if we'd finished" Not a single smile. It really ruined the experience. The matradee was not much better. No welcome. Just "hi" no good bye or thank you. Last time I was here they played background classical music that matched the harmonious artistic and natural environment. This time, like the service it there was an odd silence. A shame overall as it stole the day to some extent especially given the food was good.
After the sculpture trail, we had lunch it was a great, nice environment.nice weather, just perfect.
The staff at the table were polite, the menu showed promise, but the food was tepid at best. When I get a burger and fries I expect them to be hot, likewise my mother had a lamb dish it was cold. The order had obviously sat at the pass. We were asked if we wanted coffee or dessert, I had only just sipped the last of my coffee (it was still hot) and we were told the next booking was due and could we leave, we were not told of any time limit at the time for each booking, we could have ordered earlier if we had known this, or skipped dessert. When I went to pay I wanted to pay cash to avoid a surcharge (paywave etc) I got told it wouldn't charge one if I put the card in and entered my pin, at which point it charged one. Would not return, better offers in Matakana and surrounding area.
Amazing!
The pinto gris is one of my top two favs in nz.
Great service. Local fresh produce. Stunning setting with the pond and water Lilys.
Lovely glass restaurant setting on the lake and sculpture walk among the trees and vineyard
I've been visiting this place since 2010 and every time I come the food and service just gets better and better. A perfect place to come and celebrate a special occasion. Wish there were more seatings where dogs were allowed on rainy days tho!
Came for a wine tasting and even got a taste of the olive oils and honey. Amazing service by Belle (I think - the brunette girl w/ nice hand tattoos) too! Would definitely recommend coming here. Brick bay does everything so it’s a good vibe.
It's a lovely and nice place for the best visiting in Warkworth. Although the service staff working here are busy, they have not forgotten to take care of the first-time visitors.
Definitely try the Brick Bay wines! Basic wine testing is NZD10 for 3 different kind of wine with 30ml around each and standing by the counter to drink. Pay for NZD16 will have table service and the capacity of each glass of testing wine is increased to 100ml around.
Amazing place for a long Sunday Lunch! The hoisin beef cheeks was the best meal of my Entire life and the Tiramasu was very special! The tasting paddle was excellent value of very tasty Wines! Perfect experience!
The food and wine is spot on. The staff are very accommodating but the sculpture walk is a little lack lustre.
Delicious lunch with a yummy cocktail. Then we had a great time doing the sculpture trail with our kids.
The setting at Brick Bay is fantastic, with the main restaurant next to a small lake. The food is good quality, but not cheap. There is also a sculpture walk around the property which costs $12 for adults.
We had a fantastic lunch at Brick Bay Wines. The dining area is beautiful and has lovely views of the vineyard. There was a limited range of wines but they were excellent. The food was delicious! The staff were excellent as well. Take a walk after and enjoy the sculptures.
Very nice setting.dining area overlooking the pond. Antipasto platter and the wine tasting selection are recommended as good value. Service was friendly and attentive. Price.
. A little up there
Overall comment. We will be back!
Went with a friend for brunch. Mine food was nice and tasty. My friend was very disappointed with hers. Not as nice as mine and hers was missing a fried goats cheese from what was advertised. She did complain and we got a small tasting of wine to compensate. Still dissappointing
Awesome nature walk with awesome sculptures & woodwork, topped off with a nice wine. Everything about this place was fantastic!
Amazing walk, even more amazing sculptures. The food and wine was very good too. Needless to say the staff are friendly and efficient. Overall a 5 star experience.
Neat place to visit. I wasn't sure what to expect, as I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed walking around this special place and the spectacular sculptures.
Our work team visited Brick Bay Wines and Sculpture Trail for our annual year-end get-together. We all enjoyed the bush walk and the fascinating sculptures – in some cases, just finding them was fun! A perfect activity for a group.
Every dish on the ‘Taste of Brick Bay’ menu was wonderful. The Glass House was bright and inviting on such a rainy afternoon.
I’ll be surprised if we don’t all visit again to re-walk the trail and to enjoy more of the fab food.
