Bungalow Bills Music Shop reviews
31 I had a great time at Bungalow Bill's today! Was looking for an accoustic guitar to take on my travels in NZ for the next year and Bill gave me valuable and honest advice, and let me take my time playing a number of guitars for hours! When I left after spending all morning here, I had an amazing vintage Suzuki, good music recommendations, and had had really nice and interesting conversations with Bill all along!
This shop is a must go for anyone looking to buy a guitar in NZ, here you will find great choice, great advice and great chats.
Thanks so much Bill!
Excellent music shop with a kind and knowledgeable owner.
Some incredible guitars and amazing pieces of music equipment in there. Everything is highly curated and of a very good quality.
Was looking for ages for the right acoustic guitar and Bill showed me his amazing collection and I found a great vintage Sigma I am very happy with.
If you are in the market for a guitar you’d be a fool to not stop in at Bill’s. I can garuntee you’ll find guitars in this store you won’t find anywhere else!
Bill is a true legend, This shop is full of all sorts of goodies that are very hard to find elsewhere. Bill himself, is a fantastic lad, incredibly knowledgable and has a massive passion for music which shows in his customer service. If you are looking to purchase an electric/acoustic guitar, I would totally recommend popping into his shop to see what is there, or even pop in just to have a chat. Bill is always great for a yarn!
Pop in occasionally to have a look at what Bill has. Ended up walking out with a Marshall JCM900 yesterday. Always a good chat with Bill, hearing about the stories and encounters he's had always puts a smile on my face. Looking forward to when i'm back next! Cheers Bill:)
Beautiful store, went in to discuss buying a busted guitar for a university project. Although he wasn't able to offer anything directly, he gave me a solid reccomendation of somewhere to look. Also, just a really nice guy!
Old school magic in this treasure trove shop of music, amps and guitars, all done with great service and a smile.
The service you get from dealing with the guy who's name is written on the front of the building is soooo much better than you'll ever get from an employee of a chain of shops! Thanks Bill.
This shop is an absolute gem. Bill is friendly, knowledgeable and a pleasure to chat and do business with. Even though I’m from New York, I am certain I’ll be back!
Fantastic shop, a little hideaway with new and old guitars and experienced guitarist owner-HI BILL
Purchased my son an amazing acoustic guitar for his 21st
Loved every minute we spent in the shop and my boy now has an amazing hand crafted Singing Wood work of art.
Highly recommended
An Auckland institution run by an absolute gent.
Bill sold me my Rickenbacker 4100 sometime way back around 1990 and it was the start of a wild and beautiful journey.
So good to meet Bill again after almost 30 years and to see Bungalow Bills is still part of upper Symonds street.
Rock TF on!
Walking into this place is taking a step into a time when people cared about what they were selling. First experience five years ago Bill, the owner, sat me down talked guitars, had me play a few then suggested one for me. It was great and perfect for the time. Flash forward, I'm clearer about what I want and Bill helped me fulfil that vision. Worth visiting for the integrity and the history on the walls.
Great shop for second hand guitars and other bits and pieces. Bill is a delightful man who brings a wealth of knowledge in music and has a great ear for a riff!
I’ll be there again sometime real soon!
Bill is the best! Stumbled across this place on my way home from work today and popped in in a super impulsive mood. He wasn't pushy at all and really knew his stuff. Places like this are such a rarity these days. Will definitely be back!
I had a very good buying experience from Bill's Music Shop recently. It was my first time to meet Bill but it seems like we were friends for so long. He is a friendly man. No matter how many questions you asked for about things related to his products, he is more than willing to answer you. If you are looking for vintage guitars or not old ones, don't hesitate to visit his shop. Excellent instruments with reasonable prices too.
Met Bill the legendary store owner today and it was just so much fun chilling in the shop, looking at the beautiful guitars and sifting through vintage vinyl records. The store is straight up gorgeous.
I'm naturally introverted but I felt like I could speak to Bill forever and not feel the need to crawl back into my shell. He's the epitome of being larger than life and his love for life in general is definitely infectious.
While my friend was trying out the guitars, I got to speak to Bill and it was just so nice to hear him talk about his beautiful family, life experiences and his recording studio. Overall an amazing experience. 16/10 would recommend if you need some good secondhand instruments or if you just want to chill with Bill, or both cause' why not?
Also, blessed birthday, Bill!:)
I loved going to Bill's shop. He was so welcoming, knowledgable and fun. When my bass guitar arrived he took the time to talk me through everything I need to know. I would 100% recommend Bill to anyone looking for anything musical.
Funky shop. Great instruments - some very unique. Bill has a wealth of knowledge. If you are after something special check it out.
Best music shop in Auckland! Bill is knowledgeable on all instruments/equipment. A font of knowledge!
