Cazador reviews
47Had my husband's birthday dinner. Felt so welcomed. We went for the feast option. Great way to try everything if you are not sure what you want to choose. Definitely coming back for more culinary experience.
What an absolute gem. The atmosphere in Cazador was beyond lovely, and the staff were wonderful. The food was perfect, so perfect, in fact, we came twice in the one-week trip to Auckland. I cannot recommend this place enough.
We went in for my birthday. Ordered “The Feast” with wine pairing. The passion, talent, knowledge, and attention to detail were equally balanced. Not only was everything exceptionally delicious, but we learned a lot with each dish that was delivered. Cazador is a pinnacle of Auckland’s food scene.
Absolutely amazing, a breath of fresh air in the Auckland dining scene. Immediately felt at home. Superb wine recommendations and the food was outstanding, the duck bone broth was out of this world. Service was exceptional, attentive and caring from start to finish. Thank you for a lovely evening team!
Warm friendly service, great sunny outdoor seating and tasty pastries - perfect for a weekend coffee fix!
I bought cookies in the morning and the taste was very nice and the flavors of the cookies were buttery and enough sweet.
By far my favorite restaurant in Auckland. Why? Because understanding the connection between food, wine and a fun night out eludes so many establishments. The feast and matched wines is wonderful. Interesting choices well matched to the food and a great time. What more could you ask for? 10/10.
Had the ‘feast’ at Cazador which presented us with a lovely variety of different game meats to try. Quite the perfect blend of food with varying flavours and textures. My favourite dish of the night would’ve definitely been the quail hearts which was rich in spice and smoke and the perfect texture.
The decor of the interior is perfectly fitting and really makes you feel like you are dining in a lil gamers hut in the woods.
The most amazing dining experience I've had in Auckland. The service was superb - thank you again for your wine recommendations. Every dish was 5 stars. Try it yourselves
Dinner here last night was delicious.
Great service and lovely convivial atmosphere.
We ate from the alacarte menu and enjoyed all our selections including our drinks.
Started with charcuterie plus the endive with roast nectarine entree.
The pork main with cabbage and venison main were both excellent.
Sherry and rhubarb trifle very good but I love their chocolate mousse!
I wanted to like this place based on reviews and ordered the chef’s tasting menu. My own fault, but didn’t realize that this place specializes in “game. ” The well-preserved animal heads/stuffed birds should’ve given it away. The quality was good and service attentive but not my kind of cuisine.
One of my favourite restaurants in Auckland. A must try if you are into game meats. The service by Simon was excellent.
This is an iconic restaurant that offers the best game meat available in the market (although they also have vegetarian options). I would say their grilled quail is better than Ahi’s (yep Ben, you got competition! Lol) The service is warm, personal yet professional, every time I went they went above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience! This is one local family restaurant I will continue to support.
Love love love dining here.
Everything about this place rocks! Food, service, atmosphere all 5 stars!
The Quail was fantastic. Dessert with 3 sherry drinks went down a treat. 4got to take photos of entree and mains
The legacy does live on. 8 years since we started to dine here and we don't remember if anytime we ever leave without satisfaction. Great job as always.
Wagyu Mince and Cheese is the ticket here.
Also the Truffle Grilled cheese Sandwich is amazing. (you need to sleep after this meal)
Went there for dinner. The restaurant was very busy, I guess that was the reason why there was no one checking on our meals, not even when the venison tasted so bad and I had to ask the waitress to clear it after a couple of bites. Didn’t appreciate the limited service provided and would not return
First time visit. Dinner was wonderful, we love all the food introductions on the night. Every dished is pleasant to taste. It was quite busy when we left on Thursday night. It was raining today.
Called on a rainy Saturday to see if they had a table, however they were fully booked. Then they had a cancellation and called me 15 minutes later for a table at the time we needed. The service as always was exceptional. The food was amazing. That octopus with bone marrow yumm! And if the venison is on the menu get it! Everything was perfection. Can’t wait to go back
