Chamate Restaurant reviews
41The sichuan style eggplant (2nd and 3rd picture) is superb! A must try menu in this restaurant
It was an amazing experience.the staff is polite, hard working, make sure to meet your needs, they went out of their way to make vegetarian dishes for us.food was delicious.we went for dinner and it was packed! Luckily we made a reservation or else wouldn't get a table.definitely recommend dining at Chamate.
Glad to see a halal place in town. Came here on a holiday with my child. He loved the noodles soup and he still mentions Chamate til now. Didn't try other foods on the menu, but we will go again when we're in Auckland next.
I found a gems in the city centre. This Chinese restaurant serve good Chinese food. Every dish we ordered was satisfying.
I travelled in a group of 6 with family. The kids love the sweet and sour chicken.
I like the soupy seafood platters. Other dish are all flavourful, big portion and very good price. I’m glad that we have a family dinner here when we stop for a day in Auckland during our holiday
Great food, great service. First dish came out not even 5 minutes after we had ordered! The butter fried chicken was our favourite. Plenty of leftovers to take home as portions are very generous, will definitely be coming back!
Cost effective deliciousness amidst the commercial development carnage within the chaotic CBD. Very tasty freshly cooked food at remarkable price, highly recommend
I love this place?
I’ll rate this place a 3.5 since there’s no option I’m mentioning it here.
The staffs are friendly, lovely space, food service is good but their portioning seems to be reducing and price is increasing. Inflation, economical changes I UNDERSTAND but the price should be worthy of the portion to ensure customer satisfaction because I love this place.
Their butter fried fish is DELICIOUS
Fish Spring Roll is the best in Auckland
Seafood stir fried noodles were divine (no pics this time as we had it a few months back)
Vege & Tofu Stir fry was 50/50- Veggies were crunchy but it was too salty with too much of soy sauce.
They have minimal options for vegetarians when it comes to dumplings? , if they do add that it’ll be a winner and attract more vegetarians who love?
I love fish, and their butter fried fish is Definitely will go back to have my usual faves but it’ll be amazing to see them adding more vegetarian and non meat options to their menu.
Worst customer experience staff needs to do some courses otherwise lose clientele. Food was just okay, Chinese lady at the reception behaved poorly seems like a racist.
Visited with 6 of my office staff and all food had similar flavor, like all mixed with soy sauce. Decent size quantity. Nothing to comment much but will not entertain your taste buds for sure.
Very cozy restaurant with a vibrant atmosphere.the food was amazing.
- Sweet and sour chicken 10/10, absolutely delicious, decent size too.
- steamer chicken dumplings 8/10, pretty tasty but not the best I’ve ever had.
- slow cooked duck 9/10, very succulent and taste is amazing.
Byo is a nice addition too, $3 per drink you bring in.
Overall a great experience and recommend to anyone who loves Asian food.
Halal chinese food! The butter fried chicken and dumplings were really delicious! Portions were generous as well However the dan dan noodle wasn’t to our liking, the noodles were chewy and nice but we didn’t really like the broth (?) or sauce that comes with it.
The service here is good, the waitress is friendly. Would still recommend this place and will come back and try other dishes
Very kind staff, wonderful food. Seem understaffed and wait time is a bit long but could be due to covid. Overall very good
A concealed resturaunt located on the branches of the busiest street in the country. Chamate offers a large menu with very authentic and long loved dishes along with some more dishes which implemented new cuisines and a more modernistic approach, providing a new scope for chinese food.
I will say, I was definitely pleased with the atmosphere of this resturaunt, a modern Chinese diner, with a lovely, ambient vibe to it with modern features plastered throughout.
The food was very flavourful and had relatively large portions. A good amount of rice accompanied with a decent sized dish.
The only part about this dining experience that was lacking was the attention we got as customers, although it was not busy during the time of our visit, we felt slightly ignored, and the service was not the best and could be improved. We saw our food sitting out, waiting to be brought to our table. Alas, the food arrived, but they were rather slow.
Good prices, for those wanting a relatively cheap bite whilst in the city centre and wants to leave feeling satisfied and contempt.
Restaurant seemed very busy but severely understaffed on this day. The waiters were though were very lovely and apologetic of the delays.
The food was worth the wait. The portions are bog enough to be shared. Variety on the menu is great to see. Lovely deco as well.
Very nice and clean setting. Food was really good definitely would recommend the beef with pepper dish on the lunch menu. Staff are helpful too.
Fine dining chinese Halaal food. What a treat. Worth the trip into the city. The Shanghai sweet and sour chicken is my go to and never fails to impress. Parking can be a challenge just have to go one of the parking buildings.
Alot of friends had recommended the place. Our first visit. Food was delicious and staff were helpful and friendly. Highly recommend this place:)
️ oil flicked into my eye when slurping a noodle and dang near killed me but that's on me. Great food. Would slurp again.
What a disappointment! I made an order consisting of Cumin Ribs and Udon noodles with “beef” and sprouts. Ribs were so hard and were under cooked and tasted old. I cannot even describe the noodles only one piece of beef and it was all noodles and onions, no sprouts are to be seen. This is not acceptable, I have eaten at this place quite few times before and this is the first time I was disappointed with such an awful food.
Didn't know this restaurant existed as its down a back street, but hey that's where you usually find the gud ones right yeah it was pretty OK, but I wouldn't rush back there though still glad we tried it out.
