Chapel Bar & Bistro reviews
45 The beers are cold which is always good.
Been a few times but most recently one of the staff was vaping while leaning on the food pass.
Was there on a day after New Years when nowhere else was open in town so maybe an unusual thing.
Well appointed bar with a commendable range of beers on tap and a lovely house sav. The tall table and seats with the interesting divider was an interesting touch. The chapel motif was spot on and had some great + entertaining art work.
The food was decent, and it's a nice bar/bistro but it was *incredibly* noisy which, as someone with partial hearing, meant I found it very difficult to hold a conversation with my friends.
Be warned.
If they don’t know or like you, they will not serve you. Or be overly rude to you.
If you bring an attractive lady, they will try to separate you from her.
Not safe. Don’t trust these jokers.
Steer clear.
The pizza was great, the atmosphere was nice, service was wonderful. Unfortunately some other extremely loud customers sitting right next to us so we could barely hear each other. Out of all of the staff on site only one looked like she didn't want to be there, she always forced a smile when dealing with clients but for the rest of the time she didn't look very approachable.
Beautiful bar. Great staff, who go above and beyond.
Looks nice for Sunday arvo drinks/meal
We were there for the Bledisloe match on a busy Saturday night with a group of mates plus our 4 month old. The manager, Leo, made us feel welcomed when we first arrived and went out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed. When our 4 month old got upset, he showed us a specific area out back and moved away the ashtrays so my partner and 4 month old had a quiet place to be, and he would check up on them often. We really appreciated all he did and made the experience at Chapel Bar and Bistro enjoyable. Cheers.
Legendary spot that always lives up to it's reputation. A must visit for any dedicated gastronome.
Absolutely awesome vibe from this venue I loved the friendly staff and chapel decor was so cool.
Love it here. Superb service, nice music. Always comfortable. Esp Sunday afternoons when it goes off!
Okay pub, lacks a bit of character even though it's themed and the staff are great. We had chilli margaritas which lacked both a chilli kick or a tequila tick. Wouldn't rush back but it's a beautiful building
Very annoying staff who will hassle you after having one drink before conversing at all to evaluate level of intoxication but will jump right to barring you for further refreshments. I don’t appreciate being marginalised purely because of my tattoos/ethnicity.
Don’t recommend if you are from sub continent or if your skin colour is black an absolute racist place, the security guy and the old male server over there yesterday speaking bad on our back about us and the country we come from. Note to management If you don’t want other races to enter your premises please put a big sign out we won’t enter.
Great service especially from that hot new bartender Matt! Damn so friendly my mum would be happy!
Cool spot on the corner here
Only dropped in for a cheeky wine after a spot of shopping up the road, but loved the decor, atmosphere and the fries!
The food and drinks were great but the staff absolutely made the night! The girls kept checking in when the creeps came along and Matt makes some incredible drinks. The highlight of our evening
Great tapas the 3 cheese croquettes an crispy chicken were yummy. King prawns were king prawns!
This place is really good for this!
If you like this. You'll love chapel.
Hallelujah.
Melbourne Cup day, finished at Chapel for a whiskey. Great selection. Will return for another visit and food.
Very busy inside. Tables outside empty but couldn't fit two extras in for one wine until the patrons arrived for the outside tsbles. Too bad. Not sad.never again!
