If you only go to one bar in Auckland, make it this one! Some of the best cocktails we’ve ever had anywhere in the world. The bartenders/owners are incredible and friendly people. Recommend this to anyone looking for a great drink!

Popped into Clipper after having dinner out in ponsonby and what a fab little spot. Intimate enough to have a good vibe but not so much that you feel like you can hear the people next to your conversation. The cocktails were delish - such well balanced flavours and beautifully presented and the service was so fab!
Being from the UK originally I really do miss that banter and some good chat from the service staff which is exactly what you get here and has definitely been a key decision maker in wanting to return.

Epic cocktails, served up quick and with style. I’ve visited some great bars around the world, Clipper is right up there! We’re truly lucky to have a bar of Clipper’s calibre in Auckland! The Bangers Board is always a good shout for something new and fresh.

Nice friendly atmosphere with a good selection of non-boozy options for those of us on the wagon.

Incredible cocktails and the best Irish/British hospitality. Really shocked and some of the reviews i have just read about the service - don't go here if you don't have a sense of humor, absolutely go here if you like a quality cocktail and a bit of Craic (aka you're able to have a lol). Already looking forward to returning to try some more drinks.

We were served by Barney who was absolutely lovely and picked our drinks for the night. The drinks were incredible and well worth the price. We will definitely be back.

Would never ever ever go here again. We brought a drink and peanuts but the bar staff were rude to us because we were students and were trying to have some fun.

Over priced, rude bar staff, wanted us to leave because we turned the brightness up on the light at our table.

Well this is my new favorite bar in Ponsonby. Delicious drinks aside, I've never seen such an engaging and enthusiastic owner. We were very well taken care of and I would go back just for customer service alone. Thanks Clipper!

Walked in and the guy was rude to both girls asking them not to touch the table decoration and dictating where to sit. Walked out and would never go back. 23/11/22 at 20: 15

Extremely rude - obviously completely unaware of the definition of “hospitality”. As soon as our group of 4 walked in we were made to feel unwelcome. There was no one else in the bar - not surprised.

Yum cocktails but bit pricy, not good customer service. Buildings 2 square foot and yet somehow ignored 10 of us for 30mins. Overall experience wasnt great

One of the best, most intimate, friendly cocktail service you'll find in NZ.
Ask for the Green Beret and you'll not be disappointed.
If they say they don't have it on the menu, say I recommended it.

What can I say about this place? Perhaps if the owner didn’t treat staff and customers so poorly it would be a far better place. He is horrible to his staff, the way he speaks to them, his whole demeanour is off! He is incredibly rude and obnoxious! He lies about tables being “booked”. Shoves people wherever he pleases. Reading some of the other 1-2 star reviews I can see where they are coming from. It is such a shame as the guys behind the bar are awesome.
