Cocoon Tiny Homes

There aren't possibly enough superlatives for my tiny build experience with Sarah and Anton and team. In stressful times with other builders struggling, I had 100% trust in the payment build progress schedule. The ability to custom design makes Cocoon a stand out as everyone has unique needs and their own special vision and a cookie cutter build can be so limiting. The quality of the build is excellent and any post completion foibles which happen with all builds, tiny or not, have been addressed immediately and without hesitation, for example a couple of paint splashes on windows, the little things you notice outside of the factory setting.
So if trustworthiness, quality and design freedom are a priority I cannot recommend Cocoon highly enough.

Since day one it’s been a pleasure to work with them to bring our vision and dreams to reality— there was never a point at which we felt that our vision for our home wasn’t top priority and we could see all the staff were well taken care of and happy to be working for cocoon. Once our tiny home arrived on site, Sarah and Anton continually checked in with us to make sure everything was still up to standard and we were happy. Sending crew down on two seperate occasions to help us sort out some minor post transport issues. Couldn’t have asked for a better building experience and can whole heartedly recommend Cocoon to anyone looking to go tiny!

Walking into the office of Cocoon Tiny Homes was an ordinary action which in hindsight turned out to be the moment that would lead to all the good stuff in my life that I am now enjoying.

After a rough couple of years I found myself a single mum at 40, living with my sister and her family of 7 and sharing a tiny windowless room with my then 2 year old son - not exactly the life I had hoped for…

But my luck changed when I entertained the idea of a tiny home and met Anton and Sarah. I could tell straight away that they were good people, they were on my side and I immediately trusted them - on impulse I booked a build slot. As a designer I was a particular client and had ideas that were out of the norm. They took time to understand what I was trying to achieve, they were patient with me, enthusiastic about the build, accommodating and careful to keep me in budget.

The name cocoon resonates with me now. The period of time when my new home was being built was transformative, I now have a home I can call my own and a promising start-up business which I would not have pursued had it not been for the encouragement and advice I received from Anton and Sarah.

The team at Cocoon are an exceptional bunch, they made my experience stress free and enjoyable. I am truly grateful for the care every one of them took in crafting my new home - I absolutely love it!

Sarah and Anton were amazing to deal with. I came to them with a few ideas of what I liked, and with the help of their team they bought it all to life.
The quality of workmanship is top notch! Being able to choose everything, from floors to the lighting plan, placement of windows, customized cabinetry with draws for my essential oils AND my little fold down desk in the loft space has really given this home the personalized touch I was looking for.
The communication throughout was great. From the design process to post delivery care I have received the best service and am incredibly grateful!
I now get to sit in my beautiful home looking out into my ‘backyard’ which is filled with ponies (5 year old Emily is living her dream!)

If you're looking for an honest professional company to build your tiny home, look no further. These guys are awesome. Anton and Sarah go out of their way to make everything possible, within your budget and with great communication. They will suggest ideas to you and listen to yours as well. They have an incredible team working for them to ensure everything is built to best building practice and code. I would definitely build with them again if I need another home. Highly Recommend!

Sarah and Anton and their team are the best option if your wanting a bespoke beautiful home. Every detail has been added with careful consideration and each home is unique. I love the workmanship of my floating oak shelves/ balustrade and breakfast bar top.
Their team is so passionate about their work that they love seeing your joy of their finished product.
Sarah was so accommodating to my oops I forgot, can I add and also followed up on appliances / light fittings etc.
Once my Lotus Tiny arrived they were in contact making sure that everything was up to standard.

I knew this team was my perfect choice from the moment I was greeted by both Sarah and Anton at Cocoon Tiny Homes, Silverdale. They were only a year into commencing this new venture of tiny home builds when I first met them and look how far they have come today. A thriving concept which is taking the country by storm as we all strive to lesson our carbon footprint in some way and reduce the needs of what we used to consider normal.

Tiny home living for me is a sincere passion to think ‘outside the box’ and here at Cocoon Tiny Homes, they welcomed all of my ideas and more. I went in with a goal of creating a home, suited to me and my small children with several concepts I wanted to integrate into the design, but had not idea if it was practically possible. Anton proved to me that if you dreamt it, they can do it. And that they did!

I went with a customised design for a build that was unique to my needs. From closed off mezzanine bedrooms, above stair wardrobes, in wall opening for the placement of furniture onto the top floor, large amount of storage, vertical windows and louvers and a Scandinavian style approach which matched my desire for a minimalist living style.

Today, I am now am the proud owner of a beautiful crafted tiny home thanks to the entire team including, Andy, Jose and Dave who worked tirelessly to ensure everything was right, otherwise they wouldn’t be able to sleep. It’s truly evident in the craftsmanship and intricate details of every corner that you can see the effort gone in. Still blows me away!

There was continuous communication, ongoing messaging and phone calls when thoughts popped up during the evening which were needing to be mentioned. They were adaptable and I was always considered when making decisions along the way.

I recommend Cocoon Tiny Homes as the designer and manufacturer of your tiny home if ever anyone was to consider this new lifestyle. Give them a call, arrange a time to check out the quality and effort going into each one. You will not look back.

Cocoon is a great family run company who are personable and easy to deal with, with a background in engineering to bring to the table.

They have an excellent team of qualified builders, plumbers, electricians and the various other trades working with them and are delivering a great product.

We recently built with Cocoon and feel the result has been a well designed and engineered tiny home that’s built for safety and comfort and is also a pleasure to live in.

We know the effort that went into it at each stage first hand so, we know we have a home that with correct maintenance over the coming years will last us decades and that we can sleep soundly in every night knowing there’s nothing about it that’s been done on the fly or done by halves or for expedience.

We feel warm and safe and like we have beautifully simplified our lives and freed up time for the important things in life.

Anton and Sarah worked really closely with us the whole way through the build and it was really exciting going to their factory when we were dropping off appliances and being able to see the progress.

The workmanship and attention to the small details is amazing. When they were not happy with how something was going they let us know, changed it and made it even better.

Most grateful for the experience of being a customer of Anton and Sarah. It's been an awesome ride.
If you are looking for a professional, knowledgeable, personable, adaptable, efficient, skillful genuine person/couple/team to build your tiny home then you really can't go wrong with Cocoon.
That list sums it up really, but a few memorable examples follow.
Anton went out of his way to accommodate my wish to build using non-toxic/low VOC/sustainable materials. It was never too hard. Even with materials in short supply Anton was thinking ahead, if something wasn't available he did his damnedest to get a similar substitute, always checking with me first if it was close enough to what I was looking for.
If there were supply/lockdown related delays they were always communicated. The communication throughout was outstanding, something I have not experienced ever when dealing with renovations or building.
I visited the site many times during the construction of the Tiny, often with my little four year old girl. Anton was only too quick to converse with her in the office, or find her some ear protection if we headed to the construction area. I chatted to the clever builders and tradesmen often when I visited, they are a passionate and talented and friendly bunch genuinely enjoying their craft and very quick to show you their handiwork with a smile on the dial.
There were times when the decision fatigue got a bit much and the team were always happy to talk me through pros/cons. They know their trade. Any insight I could lend with my research on healthier living was heard with interest and curiosity, and accommodated.
I could go on and on but I'll spare you, suffice to say it's been a really great experience working with these lovely people and I recommend them unreservedly without any semblance of hesitation whatsoever. Thanks Anton, Sarah and team

We are more than happy with our 30sqm cottage from Cocoon Tiny Homes. The design and build process was seamless and now we have lived in it for 6 months we cant find fault with anything. I had the absolute pleasure recently purchasing a tiny home from Sarah & Anton. This couple are so passionate and committed to their business and a joy to deal with.

The level of communication and openness they had put me at ease throughout the whole build. I received regular updates via email, zoom and phone as my build was 100% remote.

As I first time home owner/builder, Anton and Sarah from Cocoon Tiny Homes helped me to navigate the whole process from design right through to after the house was on site. I live in Hawkes Bay and they travelled from Auckland to go over everything with me post-delivery!

I had a clear design idea in my head and they helped me to bring this to fruition including all the additional touches I had not thought of. It was important to me to have an environmentally friendly home and they respected this and went the extra mile to make sure my home was the least toxic as possible. Not many Tiny houses have a bath, which was important to me, and they made it happen!

I was able to choose everything, from design, to lighting to flooring to extras…and when I was not able to make a decision, both Anton and Sarah would research other options for me. Nothing was too much hassle for them.

I highly recommend Anton and Sarah from Cocoon Tiny Homes to build your tiny house. We took a basic design and made all the changes we wanted and they were so obliging to help us create our dream tiny home. They went the extra mile in so many ways. We had constant updates with photos, emails and calls, and were lucky enough to live fairly close to their workshop so visited regularly and were always welcome!

The finishes are of a high quality with fantastic workmanship. We were able to choose everything, from design, to lighting to flooring to extras etc etc. Nothing was too much hassle for them.

We absolutely love our tiny house and it actually feels so spacious! In fact our kitchen is bigger than the one we had in our 3 bedroom house. We also have LOTS of storage!
