Columbus reviews
42I ordered a quiche - but it was so stale and dry and old so I couldn't eat it. My partner wanted muesli/granola/porridge which they didn't have, so he settled for some wholegrain toast - BUT - that turned out to be the cheapest plain brown bread supermarket bread that you can get. ($1.12 per loaf). So totally not impressed with their food. But the coffee was excellent, so that is the only reason they didn't get a 1 star
Thought I ordered an oat milk coffee. Cashier must have misunderstood my order. I only drink oat milk. Got given normal milk instead. Took it back expecting them to replace it. They told me to line up and reorder, which I did still thinking the replacement would be free. Get to the front of the line and they want to charge for me for the replacement because it was my fault. So I ask for the coffee back that I had returned and they had thrown it out. Had I have known they were going to charge me for the replacement I would’ve given away the old one rather than returning it. There were three staff there shaking their head at me like I was trying to get away with a free coffee, when all I wanted was what I thought I had ordered and paid for. I ended up paying for the second coffee. Not a great experience, didn’t appear to be anyone working there has customer service experience.
This Columbus in Highland Park is great, the management are really neat, especially the owner, she's lovely. Foods great again especially the mango chicken pie. Great location and very handy including plenty of parking, and the atmosphere is always great.
Staff are so good and the food fresh yummy coffee hot not to strong
The cafe is warm and welcoming
Perfect place for an afternoon recharge
Did not know they swapped from summer menu to winter but did not deter our options at all
Great staff and friendly service. Thoroughly enjoyed having breakfast there offering both covered outside tables and indoor. The coffee is always good quality and the local business enjoy getting their caffeine fix there as well. Great place for catchups with friends or groups.
Came here on a Sunday at 2pm, staff were really noisy and unwelcoming. I get that they close at 3pm, but really seemed like they were going out of their way to move us along early.
Had a good lunch here after our Aisc prem reserve plate final against Howick Pakuranga. Score line in the end was a 2-1 loss and they had scored a goal at the last 2 minutes. Fortunately for us we had an attempt in the last 2 minutes in the form of a short corner. After the game we had a few Heinekens and said good bye to the team.
Ordered a Mumbai eggs at Colobus cafe and it was a good time. Was quite a kick in spice but definitely good order.
Came here on a Sunday for a quick lunch (cabinet food) and they were severely understaffed. Only two people behind the counter - one on coffee and one doing everything else (taking orders, heating food and serving). Had our baby with us and he was so upset cause he was hungry but his food was sitting done in the microwave for 10 mins. We had to ask them to just grab it for us. Not much choice of cabinet food and we waited nearly 30 mins to receive our order! Changed to takeaway and my food ended up being cold on the inside.
Great service really, helpfull & willing staff- nice crepes & good coffee. Will return a great spott for coffee.
Under new management since my last review.
It's always inviting to be greeted with a friendly smile and friendly greetings. The wait staff are tremendous it makes the coffee so much better.
Will definitely be back for my next coffee & a smile.
Columbus Pakuranga, thank you for making us feel welcome as soon as we step in the door. The barista Chris always greets everyone with a smile on his face. He's an asset to your business. Overall the service is speedy and good.
A lovely cafe to stop into for a coffee and a chat. Did some work while I was passing through and felt very at home.
Really yummy eggs benedict with a rosti
My daughter got the French toast which she enjoyed
The food is always lovely and reasonably priced and the coffee is to die for. For me personally I haven't come across a 'bad' Columbus. This is for Pakuranga Columbus, well done guys, love your store and the staff are great.
The coffee was amazing, the barista was great! He even gave us something to smile about on a rainy day; with hearts & ferns on our coffees! Loved the atmosphere and friendly staff
Unfortunately my daughter's pancakes were stiff and hard. I tried to get her to return tbem but she doesn't want to make a fuss. My Mocha was bitter with no chocolate taste.more like a cappucino. My cooked breakfast was really good. I put this down to a one off as I have been before and was happy with the food.
FAVOURITE CAFE! My absolute go-to. Delicious coffee, incredible staff and service. Super friendly, genuine and local. Gayatri, her hubby, Chris and the team do an incredible job and would highly recommend to all. Also, the creamy mushrooms are the bomb.com.
I was very disappointed in my flat white and cheese scone. Coffee like dishwater & scone looked great but soon dry.
More butter in mix next time please. Youre getting a good price at $4.80.
Easy fix. Just don't return.
In an area surrounded by fast food outlets, garden centre and on the main Pakuranga highway. Has off highway parking which is needed. Seemed to have a wide coffee house menu, about average
Arguably the best creamy mushrooms I've had, customer service was a throwback to yesteryear. It's a bloody great place
Great service really, helpfull & willing staff- nice crepes & good coffee. Will return a great spott for coffee.
