Columbus Coffee

I was advised at the counter, when attempting to place an order, that the kitchen was closed! Time- 2.44pm.
There were 5 staff behind the counter, and a fellow wandering around with a Cheffy type apron on. We will not return.there are to many other Cafes in the area happy to take an order.

The previous Columbus Café in Mitre 10 was great. At the new one, a counter person was abrupt, rude, and even snatched the loyalty card from my hand! Being spoken to as if I were a naughty three year old was so unpleasant that I left without eating the food that had been paid for. The coffee machine operator didn’t know how to do refunds (yeah right). Having patronised Columbus from its instigation, I will now no longer do so. (Had an apology been offered I would have accepted that).

Went last Sunday morning at 10. Easily the worst they have ever dished up. 3 stone cold Egg meals with cold plates. 3 cold coffees and a 'chef' talking on a cellphone while attempting to cook. Dry pancakes with no syrup. Seemed who ever was running the place had zero idea how a cafe or service should actually work and requires actual training. Table server was lovely but you could tell by the body language (and holding a cold plate) that she was uncomfortable.

Went to get my normal Mocha coffee the Chinese girl serving me had Love Bites all over her neck staff need to work on there apperance if working in this role made me feel sic

The cabinet food is uninteresting. An addition of club sandwiches or small sandwiches would improve it.

So pleased to see the new Columbus Coffee open at Mitre 10 Lunn Ave, enjoyed very much the surrounds, food, ambience however unfortunately the coffee was luke warm and disappointing and also had to ask for sugar on the table. We all know we can't be perfect all the time but hopefully this feedback will help encourage a little more attention to get it right. Didnt want to mention it today as everyone was new and possibly still learning to get it right. Keep up the good work.

About what you would expect for a chain cafe in a hardware store. It's ok. Nothing special and nothing too wrong.

Barista was tired so no smile or small talk. Possibly she was tired as only visible person in cafe. It was also pretty hot. The coffee was delicious. Cafe was very clean as well. Located just inside mitre 10

Nice coffee, good selection of food in their cabinet. Always seem to run out of muffins before the afternoon though! (Could do with getting in more for the weekend?)

Sadely a average experience compared to other Columbus locations. Service when ordering was very confusing for the staff member to manage. When repeating it back he got it all wrong but was past caring at this stage. They approached our table 3 times and never cleared plates. Most of the time 1-2 staff were sitting two tables down from us chatting to a friend, very unprofessional. Overall staff were very casual and not really running the shop. We had eggs on toast and the mushrooms. Both were nice although one had burnt bread. Seems the convenience of the location has reduced the need to provide the normally excellent Columbus service. Drive 5mins longer and go to the Saint John's location instead.

Really enjoyed our cafe experience yesterday. Cabinet food has a fine selection and don't miss the macadamia biscuits in the jar! Coffee and hot choc delicious. Our table was sun drenched hence photo shadows. A periodic loud bang, possibly microwave door or side doors is rather un-nerving.

Worth a visit when at Mitre 10. Consistent and reliable.

Somewhat cold inside in the midst of winter, but would be nice in summer. So take a coat

Nice staff and good coffee and the desserts in the cabinet are tasty. It's right by the garden centre so the view is green and close to the kids playground. They let me take my drink and food to the playground so I could have that while my son played.

A lovely place to have some coffee and something to eat. The outside area is great, with plants all around you

Coffee is one of the best in Auckland! The new Columbus cafe in Mitre 10 Lunn Ave is beautifully renovated

We had the brioche French toast and it was nice. The staff are very young and still learning but most were friendly and accommodating. Our drinks took quite a while and we didn't know there was a water fountain until we saw another customer using it. Perhaps if the staff let us know the wait would have felt shorter.all in all 4/5

Very nice atmosphere being right next to the Mitre 10's garden section. Also has a place for children. Friendly and quick service. I ordered for a latte but got a flat white. Didn't complain about this, but still a wee bit disappointed.

The recently refurbished Columbus Cafe is fantastic and such a great option for everyone. Something for everyone. Gluten free options are delicious.
Food is always fresh, hot, good portions and delicious.
Staff always friendly and welcoming.
Coffee spot on!
Kids love the Fluffy with chocolate fish.

Lovely lunch for my birthday and I was wished happy birthday by the staff. Food, service and decaf coffee all excellent.
