Rudest customer service person i’ve had the misfortune to meet in all of New Zealand. My friend bought curtains from Curtain Studio a year ago and had a similar unpleasant experience. We thought we met the same lady but turned out we actually went to different stores.

They do not support their products. We have a near new Cosmo roman blind used in one of our spare rooms, Mechanism is broken ($5 part) outside of warranty and they don't have this basic fundamental spare. Expect us to purchase a new blind. Wasteful company, spent thousands with them and would not use them again.

FURTHER UPDATE: the marketing department which asked me to contact them doesn't respond either.

UPDATE: Over a month later, the drapes are still the wrong size, the track isn't fixed. Customer service didn't pass on the correct instructions to the installer. And the marketing team despite me contacting them have done nothing.
They don't even deserve one star.

Total disaster with the custom made team. Several months later I still don’t have drapes as they are the wrong size. Even the track measuring and replacement fitting is wrong. The communication is poor. You ask to be called before they arrive and they turn up and phone the incorrect number.
Avoid the stress and don’t get sucked in by some good prices

Im hopeless when it comes to sorting out curtains - food I can manage but window sizes and what is needed - you need a helper and thank goodness for Irene at Wairau Park she was amazing - everything from sorting out my garbled messages on the phone through to guiding me this way and that - 100% old fashioned fab assistance that I thought was no longer around - the consummate professional and her follow through amazing!

Not very helpful. They were more concerned about me not wearing s mask than trying to assist me when I told them I just done a rats test and had mask exemption. I went there 4 times in a row and twice I had to go and search for someone to help me.while the shop had no clients except me.won't return here miserable staff and unhelpful.

Extremely disappointing from start to finish. Custom made curtain, differing color from sample as shown in home to match existing curtains, no contact kept. Would never use them again

Spent $700 on curtains only to be told they were charging an additional $4.00
A Fee for using westpac eftpos card. How miserable can you be, really.
When I complained the woman said post a bad review adding we don't care.
Customer service everything is to much trouble, won’t be using Curtain Studio again thats for sure.

After confirming all items were in stock, we purchased ‘ready-made’ curtains from Curtain Studio in Wairau Park. A ‘consultant’ came and did a measure for lining and custom tracks and provided a final quote, which we accepted and paid the deposit for immediately, several weeks in advance of moving to our new home.

On installation date, I phoned the consultant to check where the curtains were and was advised she was surprised nobody had phoned me to say there was a delay due to tracks. Some three weeks of no curtains in our living areas later, they arrived. Initial joy overshadowed as over half of the curtains were covered in mould – still in the boxes, and One of the good sets had no hooks. Two weeks later, the replacement sets of ‘ready-made’ curtains arrived. 2 of the 4 sets had no lining (though all had hooks). Finally, some 6 weeks after the initial installation date and 3 months post order, the ‘ready-mades’ have been installed.

Whist all the installers – 4 lots of them (in the main independent contractors) were great, nobody senior in curtain studio really seemed to care/take ownership, leaving us constantly calling and emailing to get a simple job done.

I expect this attitude and 3rd rate service was due to the fact they had been paid in full up front; they clearly need to be paid up front to have any chance of getting fully paid. They have not responded to requests for a discount to reflect the issues and additional time and coordination required by us to do their jobs. I certainly would not recommend Curtain Studio at all.

I would recommend Kresta instead, they did our roller blinds for the same house, first class service, communication and product – all perfect the first time.

Disappointing customer service, requested a quote and measure - no one called for 4 months came in again to request an appointment. Someone did come the second time. But clearly could see he was not a motivated or driven individual looked at the job for 5 minutes and used a whole bunch of excuses on why he could not provide a quote. Turned around and left without looking at any other areas I wanted quoted, Pretty poor way to run a business.

They knowingly stock faulty and poor functioning product and continue to sell it anyway even after it often gets returned. Staff are nice but the products are rubbish

Disappointed in the low quality. Purchased a large house lot of custom sheer curtains (costing about 3x more than ready made) Within a couple of years I snoticed some starting disintegrate. Gave the benefit of the doubt but they literally are falling apart in front of my eyes. My advice would be to not waste your money buying these as they will need to be replaced quickly.

Could not be happy with my experience at Curtain Studio in Wairau Park. Needed some attachable blockout curtains and Irene K was more than helpful, making sure I had the perfect size. They worked a treat! Looking forward to getting more sleep:) Thanks Irene!

While our experience wasn’t entirely smooth (we had a couple of hiccups with delays and installation in two parts) the Curtain Studio team came through for us and we’re thrilled with the end result. We received great advice as to what to select for our home and the quality of the curtains/ blinds is top notch. We wouldn’t hesitate to use Curtain Studio again in the future.

We ordered curtains, the install was late. A few measurements were wrong for the curtains so the curtain install wasn't completed.

After calling (no answer), going in twice, talking to sales lady, no communication to complete curtain install from Curtain Studio.

Step two, contacting our bank, creating a dispute for refund. Oh, phone call from curtain studio, curtains installe, so no interest in customer service just in $

Wouldn't recommend them, they don't deserve the business! Oh and for $5000 curtains not that great either.

These people are so disorganized. We have had to wait 3 months to get rails changed over. I waited 5 hours for an installer to do our job and they never turned up! You're lucky if anyone at the office calls you back. The people in the office don't know what they're doing, they can't take your phone number and details correctly, and they can't answer your questions like "why didn't the installer turn up".
Once you pay for the job they forget you're still a customer, and they think it is acceptable to wait 3 months for the job to be done correctly.
I would advise people to shop elsewhere!

REVIEW EDITED: Further info added. Because somehow the experience got worse after the initial review.

TLDR - after mucking me around when a blind was damaged, these lovely individuals then waited till the revised installation date to "discover" that the replacement blind was also damaged/had problems. I had to threaten to sue them at the Disputes Tribunal before a senior manager responded and placed pressure on the supplier to do the right thing.

Then they somehow conjured up a blind of another colour (one that was earlier explored but then not gone ahead with) not matching what was on my invoice. It did turn out to contrast nicely with another smaller blind in the same room of a lighter colour, so we kept it. But this somehow working out for us doesn't excuse these people's sloppiness.

All up: the pricing and quality is sharp. But expect to be treated worse than dirt by most of their head office staff on the phone. Most were without exception obnoxiously rude, speak in deadpan monotones, and were utterly without empathy when the issues are entirely created by CS. But senior management did ultimately front up. Their products are probably worth it but follow through every step careful and just escalate to senior management the moment something goes wrong. Because their staff won't help you.

INITIAL REVIEW BELOW.

I dislike bagging companies but frankly you have left me with no choice.

The in-home consultation experience was pretty good - consultant was friendly and reasonably helpful. But we had a few questions left and made a couple of visits to the store and, without fail, the staff you employ on weekends were generally inexperienced and lacking any desire to help.

I ended up making a third visit on a weekday and finally received some useful advice and finalised my order and started dealing with your call centre.

Paid the 50% deposit and got repeatedly rung up over and over by different people at your call centre for an installation date despite (1) me telling some of the callers that my house wasn't ready for the initial, quite early installation date proposed, (2) my having agreed a certain installation date with one person and this not being reflected in the records, and generally experiencing things from your call centre that suggest your staff pay no attention and leave no notes following calls.

Finally, installation date comes. The installer was friendly and a person of integrity. He proactively identified that there's some problem with the lounge curtain/kickback and showed me damage on one of the roller blinds in a bedroom. The latter would have been obvious to anyone not legally blind, which suggests you did no QA.

He assured me (I am sure in good faith) that I would be promptly contacted and another installation date arranged. Because I am about to move into my new home in two weeks, I figured I'd speed things along and proactively contact your call centre. The lady advised that the issue is apparently with "[your] quality control team" and that "[you] were in the hands of your manufacturers".

You can't make this stuff up. Since then I have had no proactive contact. My contract is with you and I am potentially having to move into a house and sleep in a room with 2 metre+ high window/glass without a blind on that window and you don't seem to give the slightest damn.

I won't be back as a customer in light of your pathetic attitude.

We ordered and paid for two ready mades. Took one home and the tracks nearly one month ago. One curtain had to be shortened, no big deal, well, read this! Got told it was finished and despatched 13 days ago. Still no sign of it and keep getting told they cant find it or track it. We cant believe it. One small lousy curtain loses its way. Cmon we await a response from curtain studio. Tim n lynda

Asked for someone to come and measure blinds. I showed him at the start of the appointment the 2 angled windows needing Roman blinds (also showed him the same windows with blinds in another room) and then I showed him the stairwell windows which were going to be tricky in terms of access and one window which had angles. After slating north shore homes, he decided that it was too much work and said they wouldn’t do it!
I reckon if they can’t do difficult jobs then stay clear, they’re clearly not professionals!
