Having previously purchased all our furniture through the Danske Mobler Three Kings store and receiving great service, we were extremely disappointed with how things were managed when a faulty piece was involved.
The manager advised us that they would review the piece but upon review offered us either a refund or a floor piece. Given we were at no fault, the option of being offered a floor piece was unacceptable and frankly unfair, even when we clearly indicated that our intent was just to get a replacement as we loved the piece! In the end we took the refund, as the manager and support staff were dismissive through all our interactions and even implied mishandling on our part. This has definitely left a sour taste for a matter, which in our opinion could have been easily resolved.

Buyer beware

Purchased an expensive recliner chair as a gift, from the mt eden store.

Discovered the foot rest to be faulty and so wanted it to be replaced.

I was told a new unit had to be assembled and so i had to wait a few days to get a replacement product or i had the option of taking the demonstration model from the shop floor if i needed it urgently.

Having paid full price and wanting it to be new and presentable as a gift, i opted to wait a few days to get a new replacement product and confirmed this by email.

On turning up a few days later, to retrieve the new product, i was shocked to find out there was no replacement product available.

Enquiries about why this wasn't communicated to me earlier and why they required me to me travel to their store if they had no product available, fell on deaf ears.

Only after probing multiple staff did they indicate that there was no new product assembled. The shop manager seemed convinced that this was a opportunity to clear demonstration stock off the floor and was determined to hand me one, regardless of my paying full price for new product.

The manager couldn't provide any clear reason on why this has happened or why a new product was not assembled. Overall he couldnt care less, had no respect for my time and kept blaming the original salesperson.

Dealing with this incompetent Manager has convinced me to return the recliner chair for a full refund and spare myself of any future headaches.

This was my first and last experience with danske mobler and can only be summed up as absolute waste of ones time and energy

Put an item on hold. Went back 2 days later with a van to collect it - they had sold it. Sorry they said, we have more in factory. Had to pay extra for delivery. Called again 2 days later.sorry they said - can’t find the ones in factory… waiting on refund. Waste of my time.

WOW! Our first ever dealings on line with Danske Mobler, always thought it was a bit expensive!
What a surprise! Fantastic service, only top quality products at what we thought were at a reasonable price in comparison to others
Web site easy to follow
Order was easy to place
Payment no problems
Delivery service using thier own truck and driver with assistant was on time and within an acceptable time frame
We would have no hesitation to recommend DANSKE MOBLER to any discerning furniture purchaser

Very poor purchasing experience. I ordered a TV unit in mid December 2021 and was told it was going to be delivered in Feb 22. Didn't hear from them ever since, and when I called in Jan 22 to keep tabs on progress, they told me it was never realistic to expect it in Feb 22. Instead they told me it will be June 22.

Then I called in March 22, and they told me that delivery will be next Tuesday. I asked why they did not proactively tell me about the delivery date. I would never have found out if I hadn't called them. They said that's not their process and will only inform the customer one day before delivery date. That's such poor processes and service. Your customers actually have jobs that they have to go to, so one day's notice is very disappointing.

I then asked to be transferred to the manager and then it went to another line which disconnected after a few rings. I would give them 0 stars if that was an option.

Danske Mobler pitches itself as a quality furniture store that aims at the more expensive end of the market. However, the service is such that it's not different from buying from a low end store. A customer should not be the one that is actively chasing you. You should be proactively informing the customer.

Delivered the outdoor furniture to us damaged and 12 months later still refusing to do anything about. Now being told its wear and tear. It has been a terrible experience and would never shop here again.

1/ No deliveries on Saturday (so you have to take time off work to receive deliveries and actually purchase from this company if you are a working professional). Every other furniture company offers weekend deliveries.

2/No credit card facility without a surcharge, so they require a bank transfer or EFTPOS only unless you want to be stung with a fee (seriously, in 2021? !). No other store or major competitor does this.

3/ Item ordered not in stock despite reassurance from sales staff that it was available and in Auckland, and just needed to be unloaded from the container. Turns out there is a backlog of 16 containers to unload before this, and I still have not heard when my item is expected to be arriving. Thank god I refused to pay a deposit in advance, as they were adamant it would be delivered imminently in order to secure the sale, which was clearly not the case.

Lovely, helpful staff, not pushy but very efficient - Elaine was excellent. I purchased a Stressless chair, and when it was delivered I realised the colour I had chosen didn't work in my room: (The team at Mt Eden, especially Abraham the Store Manager, have sorted this out for me with no complaint - so happily, I will receive my new chair on Monday. I highly recommend the friendly team at Danske Mobler Mt Eden!

Very happy with in shop experience when choosing lounge suite, due to Covid delivery was delayed, but when suite arrived we were very happy with it. The delivery men were very good and helpful too, unpacking furniture and removing all wrappings. All in all excellent service.

Great range of furniture, and the prices are very competitive. The sales lady, Sumeet, spent a fair amount of time with myself, my wife and our daughter, answering all questions, and supplying us with prices and leaflets of items of furniture that are of interest to us.

Good looking furniture but bad quality that doesn't last. They advertise quality furniture but the barstools that I purchased have serious quality issues and break with hardly any use. Now they don't stock them anymore and refuse to either replace of repair the bar stools leaving me with a very expensive pile of trash.

We were told that the table will become available in 4 weeks if we placed an order and pay in advance. So we did and then told that it won't be available for additional 4 weeks on the day before the promised delivery date. Very disappointing

We purchased a dining table in November 2018. The table developed an annoying squeak after 8 months. We contacted DM and they informed us the table was still under warranty. They arranged collection, repair and return of the table. No more annoying squeak! The whole experience was a pleasure, from our initial contact email, phone calls and the delivery team were excellent. Great customer service. Thank you.

They had 10-20% off promotion. We bought 5 pieces of furniture and paid at 5pm on Thursday.overall discount we received was $1300 on all the 5 pieces. They organized delivery for next week. I called and removed 1 of the pieces (worth ~$1700 - we paid $1360 after discount) from the order the next day on Friday at 9am. They delivered 4 pieces to us on Monday and refunded us only $400. I called and said we paid $1360 for that unit, why only $400 has been refunded? A lady from head office? Later called me and said whole discount ($1300) we received on all the 5 pieces was actually applied only on this unit! So we have lost the whole discount because that one unit was removed from the order. I asked if I can cancel whole order and she said it has been processed so it cannot be canceled now. I later met a sales person who used to work for them for a year and he said legally I could cancel that order as it has not been yet delivered to us when I called them on Friday. These guys are very dodgy. I will never ever buy from them again. (Thanks for the reply. I am leaving this review after 1 and half year because I recently learnt what my rights were and how easy the lady from accounting department/head office fooled me over the phone. She took the advantage of me not knowing my full rights. I also heard another person having similar experience with you guys. So I guess being dishonest and being 'dodgy' is a common practice in your '60years old business'. I decided to leave this review to make your buyers aware of your common practices and make your business owners/stakeholders aware of how the sales persons finalize sales everyday. The promotion was clearly explained to me twice, once in Wairau branch and once when me and wife were down in MT Eden branch. Promotion was on each individual item, not only on the one that we tried to remove from the order. Regardless of how old the sale is, a '60year old business' should be able to retrieve sale orders/documents from the archive and find out what has gone wrong and make sure it does not happen again).

We have just had our beautiful Eden outdoor furniture delivered. Abraham from the Mt Eden store worked really hard to find the solution that best worked for us. The furniture was delivered on time and the delivery guys set it up just how I wanted it and with a smile on their faces. We are now looking forward to enjoying our new outdoor space with family and friends over summer. Thanks team Danske Mobler.
