Depot

Depot is my favourite restaurant in Auckland. The lamb ribs are amazing and the oysters are always well shucked, I never get bits of shell.

I also think Depot is reasonably cheap considering the high standard of food.

Would have given 5 stars last night, staff and food was amazing. Today the service was not at all friendly and we had to ask for service. Sadly our desert was also burnt.

Oysters for breakfast with a side of sweet tuatuas cos I could.followed by some wonderful cold cuts and some duck tongues.deserves its good reputation.

My first time visiting here. Big recomend on fish. It was very balanced meal. Salty fish, sweet eggplant and grilled bread. Worth to try grilled lettuce with ranch sauce. But. Oyster was just okay. Vinegraitte was too shallot-ish. I could taste too much shallot.

Food was amazing and came quickly and our waitress was super lovely! However the manager/person at the desk wasn't too friendly - seemed annoyed at the split bill between two and just seemed like she wanted us to just pay and go and rolled eyes and stormed to pack our food when we wanted takeaway. Overall it was a good experience and will give it another go!

Genuinely one of the best dining experiences auckland has to offer!

i've visited depot somewhat often (as much as my bank account has allowed me!), and it somehow gets better every single time i go.in particular, i have been loving the new additions they have been adding to the menu.they're not only mixing things up, but i'm also expanding my palette one delicious dish at a time!

can 100% recommend the deckle in particular, i think it will become one of their most popular dishes in no time.depot's waitstaff also elevate the experience - apart from their brilliant food and drink recommendations, they've all been so personable and lovely! Would definitely recommend.

This is hands down one of my favorite restaurants in Auckland. The staff are amazing. Always a smile on their face and they look after you. We had the Grilled flounder with coconut sauce which was magic. The lamb ribs are always are go to with the fish sliders. We have to order them when we are here because again so flavorful and amazing. For dessert it’s always the sugar pie (which I got takeaway this time) and decided to have the Pecan Pie from Fed Street Deli which was exceptional as always.

Excellent food often brought to the table by Al Brown himself in the times I have been there. The waiting staff do a great job of helping you choose from the menu; my recommendation is to let them know of anything you particularly can't have and then let them feed you an assortment from the menu of plates to share until you have had enough. Very popular and hence busy and they don't take bookings but the food service is fast and the tables turn over quickly so even if you haven't booked the wait is not usually too long.

The service was horrendous only half the food we orded came out after waiting 2.5 hours in the end we told them to forget the rest of the food and left
I will never go to this restaurant again after this very expensive experience I hope they dont perform like this all the time

Consistently scrumptious food to tantalise the taste buds! Great vibe, fast friendly service & the added bonus of wine by the carafe!

We went in with high hopes and although the food in general was very good, our experience was soured by the lamb ribs. They looked delicious but after taking the first bite we realized they were about 90% fat and 10% meat. We know ribs are not a lean meat but this was absurd - I've never seen anything like it. And so we alerted our waiter, he took the ribs away and said he'd talk to the kitchen. After a few minutes, he came back and said the chef "could fire us some new ones but they'd just be the same" and with that he left. We had no lamb ribs, which would have been fine except they were also on the bill! I've worked in the restaurant industry and it seems unacceptable to me that we had a concern with the food, the waiter took it upon himself to take the food away, and we wound up with no food and still paying for it. We also ordered some replacement food and were charged for that as well. Really wish this had gone better - would have been a 5-star experience otherwise.

Friendly servers are happy to explain the daily changing menu. Some of the freshest, simply tastes food we will find.

A great place to eat fresh New Zealand oysters and diamonds! Super fresh and quality seafood.
Potato skin is delicious, super crisp! The cheese melts on it. The beef tongue is very delicate and melts in the mouth. The iceberg wedges are crisp and sweet.

On our first night in Auckland we decided to have dinner here. You know it’s going to be good because you’re put on a waiting list because of the high number of people wanting to dine here. We started off with the charcuterie board which was amazing (the duck tounge popcorn are to die for) and we also tried some fresh oysters We continued with the venison cheeks served on a bed of creamy polenta and we also tried smoked fish on toast. The food is amazing and fresh. They serve sharing portions which I liked very much as you can try different dishes. The staff is very helpful and the atmosphere is very relaxed. Lastly do not forget to have dessert We went with the sugar pie? Which is to die for. If you’re going to be in Auckland make sure to go here. Surely you won’t be disappointed

My favourite place for Oysters in the world. Freshly shucked and served on ice with a perfect vinaigrette.
Wash them down with a cold beer or try something totally out there but PERFECT.have them accompanied by dry sherry.great suggestion Joe!

A few of us from work came in for dinner and wine, the atmosphere and the service is second only to the food. We had our meals explained to us by the man himself. Even though it was a winter night and we were outside we were warm and comfortable and had the best time!

Not the first time to visit "Depot". Every remarkable dining service. Great food. Nice environment. Only thing was the trifle gone to normal. Nothing surprises me. But overall is beautiful.

Great food and selection of wine. Cool fitout and relaxed vibe. Service was a bit hit and miss though (overall friendly, however abruptly ushered out to take a name and told wait for a table would be an hour, ended up being 20 minutes, also incorrect order delivered to table).

Love this place! Long wait but highly worth it. Great oysters and probably a good spot to think about for large groups. Try the fish sliders!
