My toddlers first haircut went so smoothly thanks to this legend at Dr. Scissors. Little dude was so well taken care of and the barber made sure that he had a fun time while also trying to complete it quickly! Will be returning for future haircuts here without a doubt!

I’ve been to this place a few times, and generally had a good experience until today. I haven’t had a cut for a couple of months, so my hair was looking shaggy. The barber I got acted like he was in a speed cutting competition. I asked for a disconnected cut, showed him a picture, then he proceeds to aggressively jam the shaver around my head. He literally took less than 3 minutes, then asked “anything else? ”. I asked him to take a few inches off the top length, so he grabs a tuft of hair, takes a few snips, then starts pulling off the sheet to kick me out of the chair! He couldn’t even be bothered to hold up the mirror and show me the back of my head. When I got home, my wife had to finish lining me up. Never in my life have I felt so rushed out of a barber chair, or treated like I was a burden just for being there. You should remind your employees that barbering is about making people look and FEEL good. I left feeling like they couldn’t care less about me as a customer. Imagine that, being charged $35 just to have your spouse finish the job. I’m NEVER coming back to Dr. Scissors again. Plenty of barbers in Orewa, I’ll take my dollars elsewhere and find a shop that doesn’t disrespect their customers.

Awesome service for getting kids cuts done. Does barber and hair dressing and to top it off listens to what you want. Couldn’t recommend enough! My son loves his new cut and lightning bolt

The guy that cut my hair left it very crooked and didn’t do it right and he was cutting my hair like he knew what he was doing but it seemed he didn’t know how to cut styled hair and he didn’t even check for over all the mistakes he done

Had a good experience with the Māori fulla there for my first cut, second cut there today and got butchered hard, fkd up the top of my hair, taper horrible, zig zag design in the back, sorry but not happy aye.

Couldn’t recommend this place enough, popped in today without an appointment and think we got lucky as there wasn’t a queue. Our little one loved sitting in the race car chair and they guy cutting his hair did an amazing job even though our little one was finding it hard to sit still and was moving around a lot. It was only his third ever hair cut and it’s the best one to date, thank you so much!

Such an awesome haircut! As a traveler it’s not easy to find a barber who understand my needs. But he did straight away! Legends!

These guys are great. I go here when I can, to get beard trim. But these guys do really good fade cuts and great kids cuts. Nice people, nice atmosphere.

My autistic son absolutely loves it here. Loud music, but quiet clippers and the decor is very intriguing for a sensory kid! He loved getting spider man and lightning bolts faded in as well.
