Early Settler

I saw an item that had status sold out online and enquired via live chat whether it was available in store. The customer service rep I spoke to said the item was only available in Hamilton or Wairau Park. Drove to the Shore only to find out that there was only the display model that was not being sold, and no new order had been placed so it would take 3-5 months to receive the table. This is obviously not the store's fault, but Early Settlers are time wasters.

On the other hand, an item that was available online was only in store in Hamilton. So you can't buy the items you can view, and you can't view the items you can buy.

Last week Friday I went in to have a noisy as I usually do and ended up buying a couch from the absolute lovely ladies working that day. They were the friendliest people and customer service was 10/10. I am so thrilled with my purchase and by far this has been one of the best shopping experiences I’ve had. Thanks so much to the lovely manager and her team. You guys are incredible.

James is one of the best sales assistants we've ever encountered. Such great customer service, we really appreciated his helpfulness and advice.

The service of the staff was very negligent. When I measured the wrong height of the chair and wanted to get a refund, the staff said that they could only refund the voucher instead of the cash, but I reluctantly refunded the money after my repeated insistence. Never go there again.

One of my go to shops for furniture and home decor. Always loved the style of Coastal, Hamptons, French country/farmhouse. Great selections for dinning, bedroom, lounge. Prices are comparable to other trusted furniture sellers, you can see the quality of the make and the materials. Never been disappointed with my purchases and they have lasted for years. They also have very friendly staff and customer service.

Very poor customer service.
This Indian lady had no idea how to serve customers, with her little to nothing knowledge on computing she made us wait for almost half an hour to find info. Despite her role, which she obviously was so proud of, i mean why wouldn’t she. Her colleague on the other hand, (paula I believe), standing next to her and not engaging whatsoever. As if it was an amusing event for her, trying to act like a failure mom who can’t educate anyone. Unfortunately.
This manager came along at last with a very dry “no we can’t help” and passed by as if we were hurting her emotions.

Amazing service at Wairau store by Claire and Azim, can’t thank both of them enough to help me to get what I was looking for, Claire went an extra mile to help me mix and match with decors to go along with my furniture. Will recommend anyone to this shop.

Usually go to ponsonby but needed the stock only to find out the Wairau store didn’t have it either. Bought it there and It’s taken over 6 months to arrive as a set and had to keep following up. Staff (Bharti) in particular is unhelpful and argumentative and has no idea of when stock will arrive. When asked to find out about delivery options instead booked it when we were not ready to receive a kitchen which needs some planning around. If you are looking for customer service this is not the store to go to.

I received quite an unfriendly attitude from staff after they had broken off a piece of my chair and I "dared" to ask them to replace it. In the end, they exchanged it, but I got an unfriendly tone and staff "looking away" like as if I wasn't standing right there. Cannot recommend this store! And I will not return.

We love their furniture, looks great and have found it is great quality without costing heaps more. The store is not huge and its easy to move around to choose the right piece, and we have always found the staff to be knowledgeable and friendly.

We bought stock based on availability to be told they are not letting go of the model showing available. Information provided has been incorrect through the process and the stock delayed. Really unhappy with the service at this particular store.

Not once did I get "Hello" obviously the lady on the computer was busy printing something for a middle aged couple that were purchasing or thinking of doing a purchase, then another staff member came on the scene, the other one asked if she could do this cash sale, still no hello, oh I did get a thankyou at the end of the purchase,
Certainly not the customer service I would
expect from a store I have always held in high regard

Over $2500 for a bad quality sofa that leaks feathers and squeaks every time I sit. The whole reason we went there was because we thought the quality was good.

Nice furniture shop my kind of shop bought some nice pieces a pantry cupboard, bookshelf with drawers.

Great place to shop especially when a sale is on. Looking for fans & Early Settler had 11 different styles to choose from, and great ones at that. Love shopping at this store, always have done.

We were looked after with courtesy when making a purchase and immediately advised when items arrived at store
