East Tamaki Refuse Transfer Station reviews
38Absolutely ridiculous. Insanely expensive. $98 to dump a couple rubbish bins worth of boxes and bottles. Daylight robbery
Easy and effective place to get rid of junk. The lady at the till gate is very friendly and helpful. Hopefully they are recycling the plastics and cardboard!
Useful place for disposing garden waste or general waste. Not free - priced by the type of waste and amount of waste.
Certain types of waste are not allowed (e.g. Liquid paint, fridges).
Way overpriced. I only had a few items from moving to get rid of. Nothing heavy. Rocked up expecting the vehicle to be weighed before I got in and was told it's a set fee which I was unaware of. Almost $60 for some cardboard and pillows.
Why they can't have one answering service when they are closed and one for when they are to busy to answer I don't know. When you ring up and the answer phone says to busy you would assume they are open. Only to arrive and and closed. Pretty amateurish
I have been here several times. The first time a few months ago there was a great guy on the bulldozer who corrected us when we were backing into the park for commercial trucks and gave us a wave when we left.there was a guy at the weighing bridge who gave a free load after we went back a few times in a day. On the downside there was this obese polynesian guy with the hose mucking around. Must be great getting paid for doing nothing! Ha
What a rip off. I had a single trailer about 1/5 full which I could fit in a boot of a car and the old dude wanted to charge me for a whole trailer load. No wonder people dump their stuff on the side of the road.
Yeah great bunch of guys helpful, communicate with the public, understanding, always watchful of old people, not much else 2 say
Bunch of good guys no complaints guys at the weigh bridge awesome as, boys down by the pit very helpful clean and tidy, always helpful to older folk and watchful of the young ones that come on site, I watched one of them back in 5 trailers for other people while I was unloading, to the site supervisor very understanding and helpful prices are reasonable no problems cheers guys
Getting there early in Saturday morning is the way to go. Not sure why they weigh the trailer only and then you have to reverse to pay. It's an unnecessary step? Takanini definitely doesn't do it that way.
AWESOME FELLAS, weigh bridge operator very good at communicating. All the guys down at the pit very helpful especially towards the elderly, and it is also very clean for a transfer station, and prices are spot on I, would definitely come back.
Stopped in to drop off a few bits of a tree trunk but silly me I was driving a ute so the price was going to be $86.00, no exceptions. Hard pass, dropped it off elsewhere for $22.00.
Always find them great, reasonable charges, normally take full trailers which they weigh. Staff friendly given covid rules.
An excellent facility but excessive prices and no ability for staff to apply discretion
I had a freezer malfunction over christmas break and urgently need to dispose of one black sack of rubbish As i was driving my only vehicle a ute I was charged a minimum fee of $86.20 the gate operator would not even consider charging the private vehicle fee of $46.00 which would have ben more reasonable but still excessive for one rubbish bag. No wonder illegal rubbish dumping contines on rural road sides
The guy running the show (Mack) is the rudest individual in town. As a paying customer I don’t expect to be barked and shouted at. I won’t be back… ever.
I been a couple of times now. Friendly staff and quick and easy drop off. Fair prices too. Will definitely use again!
I recently dropped off some rubbish and i found the man at the kiosk very helpful and friendly staff inside the plant.
I arrived 5 minutes before closing with cardboard boxes neatly packed. The old boy at the gate seem to take pleasure in telling me the minimum fee was $77 as he glanced across the few empty cartons in the back of my ute. I asked if he was serious and he smilingly pointed towards the sign on the wall. AH!
Was physically assaulted by yard supervisor in front of witnesses for no reason. Apart from the fact I questioned them wasting my time. Management refused to give persons details to police and did nothing about the situation what so ever. Apparently bullying and violence against customers is accepted in the waste management h and r portfolio. No apology no remorse.
