If i could give a zero I would. Am moving companies. They have stuffed up my billing cycle so much. You have to wait 24 hours for someone to actually talk to you, insane

Edit - Exactly I DID chose my billing cycle but EK decided Nah lets just mess it up for fun. I've left now to another provider

Joined up thinking it would be cheaper. Be aware they may not be. For us it was significantly more expensive than we had been paying with trustpower. Friendly team and easy to transfer to them but price had me running to change asap.

Ideally Electric Kiwi deserves 10+ stars!

There is no cons to this company! You get an hour of FREE power EVERYDAY! Yes! FREE! All those expensive appliances and everything that uses a lot of power, you can literally use for FREE! How incredibly amazing is that? ! No catches at all, they’re just ultra caring and understanding
Also, they do NOT give an exit fee or notice period. If you wanna leave? Just do it. But honestly, this company is too great to leave! Me and my partner did and they just sent an email saying they’re sorry we left and I felt so HORRIBLE for leaving them! Almost straight away we wanted to return to them actually. We returned to them within a month or so and no regrets! We honestly will stick with them until the day we die!
Also, PERFECT customer service! Never been happier! When we were first with them, we had an overdue bill (hardly anything) and they said we can just pay it off over two weeks

I understand there’s a few 1 stars here but can’t please everyone and probably lots of people are demanding and like to complain

Electric Kiwi, you guys are SPLENDID!

Had no wifi since 7pm last night tried 2 live chats that no one helped me just left conversation unanswered, and have sent 3 emails to info email no help so frustrating seems to be no call center for broadband and no one calls you back will be switching back to my old provider.

Electric Kiwi make it impossible to do business with unless you have broadband now. Very frustrating when you don't have broadband and you're old like me. When we joined they actually had a phone number to call and speak to a human. They say in order to keep their prices low they are an ON-LINE COMPANY. (only, by the way) Good luck even joining if you don't an email address. This to me is DISCRIMINATION towards our elderly, who don't want to, or can't embrace, technology. I am disgusted.

I've just joined Electric Kiwi' and I'm so stoked.
The options and plans they have cover every situation. They even have an option to pay weekly if you so wish. Consumer voted them the cheapest and best for customer service.
So far I'm loving the choices. Will keep you posted in another month or so!

Sorry, it's been a few more months since my last review.

Electric Kiwi have deducted 50 from my account every 2-3 days, over Winter, to cover my usage. I have 4 kids, all with medical issues and 3 of us at home are chronic asthmatic. I have to use the drier every day to remove dust from the clothing. The electric bills are very high but I'm grateful I don't have to pay huge lump sums as was the case with other electric companies.
Over the summer months Electric Kiwi were deducting 50 every 5-7 days, which is great.

I have a question: Why do the Electric Companies put the power up over the Winter months?

Anyway folks, all in all ELECTRIC KIWI are not bad, consistent and give you feedback if you need it. In other words awesome communication.

I'm sticking with them for now!

We have been with Electric Kiwi for 6 months now and WOW! Family of 5 with many visitors broadband and power. This company has made life easier. I've never been late on a bill because of the automatic payments. I get my heads up email, and everything runs like magic. I HIGHLY recommend I've never received a bill over 200. Comes out fortnightly

As far as utilities companies go, they’ve been great so far. Their communication is good, friendly and fast. Their notices are also timely as well. Rates wise they are one of the better ones out that but do your homework as some plans are cheaper potentially elsewhere. Their plans are great if you can shift your power usage off the peak and take advantage of the free hour everyday. Their solar rates are one of the middle ground atm but higher than most. Only two other providers have higher rates atm but they don’t have a free hour or as good offpeak rates which are critical to charging an ev when there isn’t enough sun to do it.

I also like the you choose payment period and no contract periods to speak of. Their app is better than matchmost, basically same as the website which does the job and has some nice features as well for digging into your power usage.

I also use them for broadband, at this time their reselling Vocus which is one of the bigger and better players on the market. They provide IPv6 natively and no PPPoE overhead on fibre which is great for latencies and connectivity overall. Not using their router as of now but I hear they send fairly decent ones (had an issue and got sent a Netgear Orbi to test).

Wish they retailed gas so I could get rid of my old retailer completely while I look at getting rid of gas altogether (looking a bit costly to replace one cooktop and infinity hotwater unit atm).

I also wish they would provide net-zero metering or match solar buy back with other leaders but that is nitpicking I suppose and more of an issue with Vector.

Overall I would highly recommend.

Easy to use app that provided excellent power and broadband services at the best rates. Follow up call from their office, after a month, help me to tweak a couple of details to allow me to make sure money was in my account when the billing deduction happened and to change my password to a permanent one.

Easy online joining. Responsive to my questions. When logged on, very informative and detailed energy graphs that within a week helped me to pinpoint a rouge timer starting up an aircon unit in an unused spare bedroom. So within a week of joining I'm saving money. Also changing our energy usage to take full advantage of the free hour of power and off-peak - sure this will lower our bills dramatically. You guys rock!

I'd recommend EK to anyone who is looking for a fair and honest power & broadband retailer. They have competitive pricing plans, excellent customer service and support, a very informative mobile app and web interface, and even an hour of free power every day.

If you get a bit clever with how you "exploit" that free hour, very few competitors, if any, come close to beating EK's power bill.

Less than 0 if I could. Hard to get a hold of anyone. They reply to messages but don’t actually answer the question - probably because they are disconnecting us without proper procedure (I still have no information about this) I will be just changing my provider. This is the worst experience I’ve had with an electricity provider.

Great service just wish you could talk to someone as the street address changed when I moved in have issues as two street numbers show for this address finding broadband hard to change over but not Kiwi Electrics fault

Electric Kiwi are the best. I have never had a single problem with my power or fibre being connected and set up, or with monitoring usage. The Hour of Free Power is my absolute favourite thing about Electric Kiwi! Great time to use the dryer, oven and heat pump.

I've done my own sums having installed solar, and electric kiwi came out with the best savings. But what I was most impressed about was the ease and comprehensive help and comms during the sign up process. Between the emails and the app, I'm really looking forward to my journey with Electric Kiwi

Excellent electricity and internet provider (they are offering both as a combo). They scheduled very short terms to connect me to the net and did it even faster (I asked the guys if it's possible, because I am working from home and was critically and they did it).

Excellent team, excellent service! Highly recommend them!

Totally awesome for us. Love our fibre broadband, good rates on our power and love the free hour of power too. They have actioned our connections and move requests really fast too. Definitely recommend Electric Kiwi.

Such a different Company to anyone iv used before it seems EK have a soul and actually care about customers over profit.however the big boomers at the gentailers want there profits at ANY costs and nothing will get in there way.if you want human feeling customer service and a chat service that actually works use EK I promise they are different in a Big Way.
