Elite Fitness St Johns SuperStore

It was a dirty big showroom with dust everywhere, it looks like there was no one cared to clean up the dust on the treadmill machines and recumbent bikes. The ambiance is too dark that it feels like the shop tried to hide imperfections on the machines. The manager is lacking communication skills and cannot handle customers that walk in,  very sloppy-looking person. Also looks like very short of staff. No one cares for customers on the second floor. You could do so much better with a place that big, just need to find someone who cares about the business. The way I see it.no one cares.

The showroom looked nice but the guy on the reception was not helpful at all. If you don't want to be in customer service then maybe it's not the job for you. Pity because it wasn't just a monitor I wanted but with your superior attitude there was no way I would even consider looking at a treadmill after that. You lost a potential customer and sale because my initial enquiry held no interest or had commission in it. A great customer service representative takes the time and makes a customer feel welcome. As you pointed out it's Head Office well maybe they should move you on or get you some proper customer service training!

Met with David - great rep for elite - great product knowledge didn’t try to sell me stuff I didn’t need and made it easy for me to pull the trigger and spend $$$ within set $7500 budget - top marks David appreciate the professionalism and attention to detail

What a awsome fitness store. Viewed the St John's shop online and visited the store and came away with a spin bike. The chap in the store was very knowledgeable about the product range and pointed us in the right direction. Very happy with our purchase.

Had some issues with barbell and plates on arrival after very poor handling from Mainfreight, but eventually a customer service rep reached out and found a solution so all in all, pretty good customer service.cheers

I have used Elite fitness before and have always had a good experience. Not this time. I visited Morrin rd branch and purchased a treadmill and a can of lubricant for it. I opted for delivery and was told that the can of lubricant would be delivered with the install. This did not happen. I rang David the manager and he said he would send it out via courier. That was ok. But I waited 2 weeks and it did not turn up. So I called David again. He apologized this time and said he would send it out. Again I waited and it did not turn up. Furious I called him again and he said he would being it around himself. But still no spray lubricant! This is not professional, this shows a lack of organization and a complete disrespect for the customer. I do not recommend dealing with this location and especially David, the manager!

Terrible service I had experienced. No one seems to want to go upstairs where they stored the weight equipment. My best guess is there's very little commission when them staff sells weight instead of running machines.

Good staff who know the products.
Got the bike we liked which suited us best. Pays to ask questions, plenty too.

After filling up an online cart, I wanted to organize pick up from the Auckland warehouse instead of shipping. Dave took my phone call and made it super simple, even sorted out same day pick up. Their kit is priced competitively for the quality you get. I've only had a chance to throw the 7ft Olympic Barbell around for one session, but was very happy with the smooth rotation, and the plates fit nice and snug. Very professional aesthetic too. Will definitely be recommending Elite to my friends and other PTs for setting up a high quality home gym.

Bought a exercise bike, had the best help from David explaining ect, it was a pleasure dealing with David thank you very Happy castomer brigitta

Great range of machines. Really friendly and helpful staff, but not many, so if you want help, best not to just wait for them to come to you, especially upstairs.

The sales person was brilliant. Very knowledgeable, helpful and full of life given it was the end of the day.

Just got the Exercise Bike and it's a great quality piece of equipment for a Fair Price. Really enjoying it so far. Very happy in the long run however,
I would ask you to review warehouse/freight times, I understand everyone is busy but it took 18 days from Auckland to Dunedin. Seven Days just to Load it for Pickup and Eleven more for Freight time. Pretty sure a turtle could get it here faster. I won't mark down but I will admit that was frustrating.

Overall though, I'm happy with my Purchase, the price I paid as I feel I have got a great bit of kit that will last for years. Thanks

This is the state of the screws you get with a $2000 machine and when you email them they dont even have the decency to respond or just send new screws.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Despite the significant cost of their spin bikes, they do not provide suitable bike seats for women.

Edit to provide more information as requested by the company:
Bought an Elite Patriot Spin Bike - which cost over $500. I asked if it could be fitted with a women's seat and was told that I would need to contact your service department myself to see if they had any on hand (no guarantee) and that I would have to pay for it (not replace the one it came with). No estimate of cost or availability was provided.

Please change your policy to be more inclusive - it is unclear why you cannot offer seats for women especially for a $500+ bike (note that this specific bike is an elite fitness branded bike). Seats for men are typically not comfortable or usable for women as was the case here, with the intended rider finding the seat extremely uncomfortable.

Ended up having to buy a seat designed for women from Torpedo 7 which solved the issues.

I recommend prospective customers consider this aspect when making a purchase. Testing out a bike for a few minutes in-store is not sufficient to highlight these issues and therefore can go unnoticed until you purchase (which is likely why the company has not done anything about it).

Hope this provides sufficient information about our experience for you to take action (dropped to 3 stars due to this experience, again staff were excellent, company policy was lacking).

This has to be the only place to shop for high quality fitness equipment.
Products are amazing and the staff are very knowledgeable.

Seems like client needs to check that specification of the product on the elitefitness websites is matching with actual product specifications set by manufacturer. I ordered squat rack which according to elite fitness websites suppose to hold up to 277 kg but instructions manual on actual product says only 140 kg. This is extremely hazardous. Another alarming thing was the rack promoted on websites supposed to be 25% heavier than the one I received. It is ok to screw up size of the tshirt but to provide misleading information to clients on product like squat/bench rack could have fatal results. The guy in the elite fitness warehouse told me he would not trust it either and to make my day even better when I asked for a refund in the office I had to deal with person questioning my decision about being safe. Elite fitness seems like good mid range brand for people understanding well what they need however I can see major issues to be sorted in the management and customer service. In my case luckily only standard waste of time with an unprofessional supplier, no other damage done.

Good store and good customer service, it was quick and easy for me I think these reviews saying it’s bad are one of “those” types of people that make things harder than they need to be.this store has a wide range of items and quickly sorted out something I was looking for that wasn’t in store but ended up being in storage

Never usually write reviews but this is an exception. Massive variety of products but Tom and Dave did a great job of recommending the perfect gear for me. Without a doubt will be shopping here again. Great guys, great company.
