I was only in town for the weekend, my car was playing up and I was so stressed. They squeezed me in on a Saturday morning. They kept in touch every step of the way and were so kind and thoughtful. They gave me a vehicle to borrow and by Monday morning my car was fixed and ready for me to return home. Would recommend these guys any day, they really went above and beyond.

A Lesson in Genuine Service during Tough Times

Today, I wanted to share an experience that both shocked me and reminded me of the importance of genuine service, especially during these challenging times. As New Zealanders navigate through a recession, it's crucial that we support each other, rather than fall victim to those who seek to profit unfairly.

I visited my local mechanic recently because my car's wiper motor had given up on me. With trust in their expertise, I left my car for a diagnosis, which I didn't mind paying $110 for. The lovely lady at the counter was kind and understanding, setting a positive tone for my visit.

However, when I received a call with a repair quote of $810 for two wipers, a used wiper motor for my Toyota Aqua, and labor, I was taken aback. I decided to do some research and obtained three other quotes from different mechanics, all of which were $480 or less for the same job. Additionally, I found a genuine Toyota part for just $180 at a car wrecking yard.

When I questioned the mechanic about the exorbitant quote, their explanation was that it included a three-year warranty. The catch was that I hadn't even asked for this warranty; it was automatically bundled into the price. Little did they know, I plan to sell my car in three months!

This experience left me pondering the mechanic's true intentions. Was it an attempt to make extra money from someone who simply needed a reasonably priced fix, especially when three other mechanics quoted significantly lower?

In these challenging times, we should all remember that empathy, understanding, and genuine interactions are more important than ever. We're all facing the impact of the current recession, and it's no excuse to take advantage of one another.

In the end, I decided to take matters into my own hands. I found the part I needed for $180 and fixed it myself in just 30 minutes. Yes, you read that right - I saved a whopping $800, and I'm still not quite sure where that inflated quote came from.

Best service ever, The lady’s at the desk were Lovley and updated me throughout the process of my car being fixed.
I got mucked around by another company which failed my WOF but these amazing people did such a good job and I passed my WOF today

Our local, we take all our company and commercial vehicles there for wofs and regular services. The cars are always back within a day, and they take car of anything that needs to be done.

I took my car here for the first time this morning for a WOF. They asked me what time I would need my car back and mentioned by 11am so I could go to some other appointments. They got the car back to me well in advance of this which is much appreciated and did a great job. Highly recommend

Radiator replacement.
I booked 10days in advance but received a message to ring Tara back the day before the booking (after I asked them to give me a ballpark quote for the replacement of my radiator, the original 20yr old radiator in my 2004 V6 3.5L NISSAN RWD RX STAGEA.
I was waiting 10days for the booking & x2 days for parts information, get some more staff maybe?
I kindve gave up trying to communicate with them due to the fact that they wouldn't take me seriously. I need a replacement radiator, so I can't just drive around for an assessment, I am a woman but also an Engineer. Next time I will choose Giltrap Nissan at NewMarket or Penrose!

Garage replaced tyre with no charge because previous change was possibly not correct. We appreciated their ethical up-front volunteering of this info. Great record-keeping of client's car.

I have been using Ellerslie Automotive for years and have always had great service at a good price. Recently I was having trouble swapping over a towbar on my car and I drove down on Saturday afternoon just as the shop was closing, The receptionist and Chris from the workshop were friendly and helpful and swapped it over for me in no time free of charge. Will definitely keeping coming back.

I've lived in Ellerslie 52 yrs, had heaps of cars, never considered coming here even though I use the BP next door forever. Decided to use them month ago.these guys are the best.moving out the area nxt yr but will come here for any service or tyre stuff. Friendly staff, quick & efficient wish I'd use them earlier been right here on my doorstep

I limped to their door after "breaking down" on the off ramp. They were obviously busy but fitted me in to diagnose the computer error message and fitted me in there and then to fix. They even gave me a loan car, and unbelievably it was fixed 2 hours later. It was beyond my wildest expectations of amazing service kind and friendly staff, and I cannot recommend them more highly. Thank you.

Can not recommend these guys enough! Their customer service and quality of work is outstanding and they truly know how to look after their clients. They have, on a number of occasions, gone over and beyond for us, particularly in urgent times. We will continue to always take our vehicles there even if we decided to move from the area!

I normally don't have time to write reviews but today I felt morally obligated to come in here and report how caring and extremely friendly the people at Ellerslie Auto are!

We have been taking our car to them for a few years now. In december last year we bought a Subaru Legacy, which unfortunately broke down last Friday.even before it was due for its first service.

My insurance company sintructed me to take the car in for a diagnose, and I took it to Ellerslie Auto of course. After they have found out what the issue was, my insurance company instructed me to take the car to their mechanic workshop of choice and that I would need to pay for the diagnose that Ellerslie Auto have done so far. To my surprise, Ellerslie Auto said that I don't need to pay for anything because having a broken down car is already stressful enough and they wouldn't want to make my day any worse.

Obviously my day isn't going well but hearing this from them have definitely made me feel better and cared for. Just wanna say thank you for what you guys do, you guys are amazing!
