It's great, but it's a pity that I couldn't eat the roast duck even though I booked a reservation.

I went to Zen E Private Kitchen, which I had been interested in since my Chinese friend had a birthday party here. To get inside, you have to press the intercom and open the door. I immediately pressed the intercom and there was a reply in Chinese. I couldn't understand what they were saying, but when I gingerly pulled the door, it was open. The entrance had a cheap feel to it, with a yellow signboard full of cluttered photos, but when you went up the stairs to the second floor and entered the store, it looked dignified and the seating was divided into small sections, giving it a private feel and a very nice atmosphere. The staff weren't good at English, and I couldn't understand what they were saying when explaining the menu, but I could tell they were trying their best, so I didn't feel bad about it. The first page of the menu said ``Peking duck, '' so I thought it was the restaurant's best choice, so I ordered it, but it turned out that I couldn't order it unless I made a reservation. The staff, who was not good at English, said they recommended a chicken dish that wasn't on the menu, so I ordered it, but it wasn't delicious at all and I could barely eat it. But it was okay because the staff were kind.
I also ordered mapo tofu with spiny lobster, spicy jellyfish salad, duck with sweet soy sauce, and mushroom appetizers. All the seasonings were good, but the flavor was a bit strong, so it might be best to eat it with rice. I didn't eat rice, so the first bite was delicious, but I started to get bored with it.
If I could speak Chinese, I might have been able to understand the menu better and order better. It was a difficult restaurant for me.

I was holding a little high expectation for this private kitchen by the well-presented menu. I was being conservative not to order the expensive dishes like the live seafood which turned out to be a right decision as the first-time visit. The taste of the entree is average. The main courses of sichuan spicy chicken and spicy crabs are quite disappointing. The chicken tasted like just mixing up the fried chicken with the chili but not perfectly cooked together to bring up the flavor. The taste of the crab isn't too bad but the crab was not fresh enough.

The service is extremely poor too. I ordered a jar of beer. The waitress brought us two glasses so dirty that there was even lid stick smudge on the edge. Very disgusting! I raised the issue to the waitress. She brought them to get another wash but there was still a little lid stick smudge left that I had to use my own disinfectant wipe to clean them again.

I don't think I will be visit this place again.

Zen E Private Kitchen is hands down the best Chinese restaurant I've ever been to. The food is so flavorful and fresh, and the ambiance is relaxing and peaceful. Highly recommend!

Service is lacking a bit as staff seems too busy to take our order or top up the teapot. But I did appreciate the staff who took our order that we might be ordering too much. Otherwise, selection on the menu is good food is decently nice.

This is a hidden gem. If you get the chance, go there to enjoy excellent Chinese food presented with artistry. Wonderful flavors accompanied by an inviting ambiance and great service.

The staff at this Chinese restaurant are so knowledgeable about the menu and can recommend dishes based on your preferences. I tried the Braised Sea Cucumber with Tendons and it was amazing.

This restaurant is perfect for a family-style meal. I recommend the Steamed Oysters with Minced Garlic and Vermicelli

Great Braised Chinese Cabbage with Chestnut and pork broth, worth trying! If you're in the mood for good Chinese food look no further.

The Peking Duck was very tender and spiced very well. Employees gives excellent service. I liked the cleanliness and vibes. I highly recommend this place.
