Final Touch

The team did a fantastic job of taking the stone chips out of the bonnet of my car. They were efficient, friendly and knowledgeable and I was very happy with the price - a cost effective way to bring my car back to a showroom shine. Would highly recommend and use again. Thanks team!

Highly efficient and commendable customer service. Did PPF wrap on my car and after a month there was an issue with the bumper PPF, Gordon replaced it instead of trying to fix it. Very competitively priced and have quality branded options to choose from.

Amazing service from Gordon and his team, super friendly and helpful on the phone and in person. Got my Toyota Hilux ute ceramic coated and then had to get some contamination fixed a few months later as a result of the ute being sprayed by angle grinder iron sparks. My experience of having Final Touch repair stone chips of my Porsche 718 Cayman S has been very disappointing. The work was far below the quality expected, they didn't even finish the work (they pretended they did) when I came to pick up my car, that was unbelievable!

I dropped off my car at 9: 00 am and both of Grant and Gordon told me that I could pick up my car around 3: 00 pm, Grant also said he would give me a call once the work was finished. But I had been waiting till 4: 30 pm and no one gave me a call or text message. I had no idea what was going on or whether the job was done or not.

When I got to the shop myself and found my car parked outside the front door of the office, I checked around the car and spotted a few stone chips on the front bonnet were not touched-up/repaired at all. At this point, Grant popped up and asked me if I was happy with the repairs? !

I also texted message Gordon and asked him if he or the team could take a look on the stone chip hitting on the right headlight of the car, he told me that they should be able to improve it at least, but when I checked the car, the headlight was untouched, it was exactly the same as I dropped off my car in the morning. They didn't do any work on the headlight at all!

Is this how you guys doing business? ! What you promise to customers, you deliver it. If you can't achieve it, you inform customers at least. You failed to deliver what you promised and you failed to inform customer the status of the work either.

You guys asked 6 hours to finish the work (according to their official website, the stone chip repair is 30 mins up to 2 hours), I gave you 6 hours plus extra 1.5 hours to do it, you did not even finish the work and no one noticed me nothing!

Don't say sorry to me, say sorry to your so called "over 25 years professional work", ask yourselves are you really dedicated to your work?

I was extremely disappointed. Hopefully every customer can see my review before they decide to have the service at Final Touch, Rosedale, Auckland. *Never* recommend.

Couldn't be happier with the result on my old 300zx, I had some fresh paint and wanted the protection of a ceramic coating. Grant went above and beyond with this car, touched up stone chips, polished lights, t-tops and mags even touched up scratched door handles, the result was quite jaw dropping. I can't recommend Final Touch highly enough, phenomenal job.

Friendly service, and accommodating with little notice, with just a few days before xmas. With that being said, we were a little disappointed following the ceramic coating of our brand new outlander. Given the money we paid i would of expected the roof to be included in this service (given it's probably the most exposed area of a vehicle, especially so when it comes to UV rays). We know it wasn't done because after getting it home and putting it in the garage, we placed a cover over it and noticed pollen still adhered to the roof, and the feel was completely different to the panels that had been treated. Disappointed really and wouldn't return for anything else.

Gordon and team were brilliant. Took my heavily stone chipped and rough, black RS4 to them. They took the time and effort to make it look very presentable. Couldn’t ask for better given how it started. Very very well worth every penny they charge. The bonus is, and you can tell, they genuinely care about cars.

Pretty mediocre clean for the price paid tbh.clearly sections were missed or rushed.
Paint touch ups look below par and I may as well completed them myself.would not recommend.

I would like to thank Mr. Gordon Mckerchar and his team for awesome finish of Hyundai IONIQ 5 with DURA-SEAL ceramic protection, window tinting & door edge protection plus the warranty. There are prefect on the job. These guys not rushing for the job and highly qualified to deliver the goods to the customer what they promised. This is my first job with them, and I have no hesitation for recommend them for any one who is looking for perfection.

The team at Final Touch Auckland did an awesome job on my new VW Golf, they took care of all stone chips, obvious scratches and blemishes with a cut & polish and a ceramic coating, instantly you can tell they have a passion for cars and take pride in their work and make the effort to go far beyond expectations, we have other another vehicle that we have already booked for a similar service, happy to recommend to all friends and family!

I contacted Final Touch regarding having my new Tesla Model 3 covered with paint protection film (PPF) and ceramic coat. Following an exchange of emails I was told that unfortunately PPF is not a service offered by Final Touch but they could arrange it to be done in Auckland. There were significant logistical issues with this so I found a local provider for the PPF, but they did not do ceramic coat. Final Touch were therefore asked to carry out paint correction along with a through preparation for PPF. After the PPF had been completed Final Touch were then to apply the ceramic coat. All the work was to be carried out at the premises of the PPF provider.

I was contacted by the PPF provider regarding their concern of the condition of the car following the preparation. After seeing the car I spoke with the Final Touch operator and told him I was not happy by the condition the car was in when handed over for the PPF. I reiterated a discussion I had had with him before any work had started and my expectations. His response to rectifying the issues was to “Blow it off with an air line and she’ll be right. ”. After some further discussion he did agree to return late the next morning to rectify the issues and meet with me. When I arrived at the agreed time I was told he had been some hours earlier and gone. Leaving a cloth for the PPF provider to wipe down and clean up the mess. A cleanup was essential before any work could commence on applying the PPF. After the PPF had been applied the Final Touch operator returned and applied the ceramic coat.
When I collected the car I was again disappointed to see the condition in which it was presented. E.g. Smears and blobs of dried liquid, which I presume is ceramic coat, across body panels and droplets of something across the windscreen. I assume that over time these will was off.

During my earlier discussion with the Final Touch operator I had asked what products I should use for ongoing care and maintenance of the ceramic coat. I was not provided with any of this information but have been able to source it the from other Detailers who use CarPro products.

My experience of having Final Touch apply ceramic coat to a new car has been very disappointing. My discussion with the Final Touch operator following the initial work left me on no doubt of his attitude to fix any future issues. I have read many glowing reviews on the Final Touch website and now question how authentic they are. Or perhaps they did not have the Final Touch operator that I did. Whatever the reason I could not in all honesty recommend Final Touch to anyone. The work was far below the quality expected and the lack of professionalism spoke volumes.

Addendum.

To avoid any misunderstanding my above comments are related to my experience with Final Touch in New Plymouth and the response from their national office.

My comments should not be taken to indicate that Final Touch in other areas may be similar. I am not in a position to comment on those. I have only had experience with Final Touch in New Plymouth and the person who is the national owner/coordinator/franchisor or whatever he calls himself.

Many positive reviews can be found on the Final Touch website but my review was removed, an act that is a breach of the Fair Trading Act. How many other non-positive reviews have been removed.

Always excellent. Have used their services several times and had a number of other car enthusiast contacts go there too.

I needed some paint cleaned up around door handles. The team was awesome to deal with and the work they did was great at a fair cost.

Stopped in to get a pro opinion on some paint damage. Gave me great advise and carefully assessed the car, didn't even charge me for the 10-15 min spent answering queries I had. Really put my mind at ease. Thanks heaps!
