Five Elements Café Bistro reviews
38Such amazing service the staff were so kind and helpful. The food and cocktails were so good! Would highly recommend
Amazing! Absolutely delicious food! Highly recommend their slow braised Lamb Shoulder and Peri Peri chicken; perfectly cooked, juicy and full of flavors! They've great selection of wines, amazing atmosphere and hospitality! We will definitely come back to try rest of the menu.
We came here for their new dinner menu and it was phenomenal. It's a small team running the place but they take pride in their food and service. Please check their dinner menu out, it's mainly Spanish flavors. The coffee is awesome as well.
Even though their evening menu hadn't started when we visited at 3pm, they made us two items off the dinner menu. Lovely friendly people. Great food.
Amazing food and atmosphere! I ordered the turmeric latte and Opera cake, the food is delicious! COVID requirements in place and respected by customers and staff.
First visit last Saturday (During lockdown). The service was very friendly and efficient. The cafe was clearly sparkly clean and the chilled cabinet was Ssooooo inviting. We left with Hot Choco, Latte & savory scones! All were excellent, we will be making this our regular Sat morning haunt, it is just too good to drive past
Collected hot chocolate, muffins and melting moment during level 3. Drinks lovely and hot, muffins delicious - very moist. Perfect melting moment.
Located on the corner of Hillsborough and Mt Albert Road.
Five Elements = Five Star Dining
5 Elements know how to serve up tasty, well balanced, healthy food and brews.
I’m really glad they setup shop and are my go to for a quick brew or something more substantial.
In the not too distant future I understand they will be serving fine evening dining too!
So watch this space - support your local and say hi to Jatin, Ritu and the rest of the team.
Yummy! Well worth finding a carpark for. Coffee was great too (I'd ask for extra hot next time). Looking forward to coming back to try a toastie.
This place is fabulous! My dear friend took ownership a few months ago and brought his wonderful family on board too.
The coffee is smooth and well blended and keeps its heat in a husky cup.
The chef makes all the meals with love and you can taste it. Our personal favourites are the eggs Benedict (which comes on a crumpet) and the salmon lox bagel.
Definitely worth a try.
Fantastic and beautiful café
We asked for Five Elements Breakfast, with poached eggs perfectly done, both of them.
Boston beans were really really tasty, they had a tasty twist that enhances the flavour. Had earl grey tea and a fantastic natural orange juice.
Definitely we will come back to try the lunch menu.
The view by the window watching the world pass by lovely.
I have driven past this place so many times. Finally got a chance to visit. Surprisingly very spacious inside. Very welcoming staff
The food was very tasty and well presented. The menu is not extensive but I think that gives the chance to do what they have well (and they do).
Definitely coming back.
Thanks
My partner and I have been to Five Elements three times and will be going lots more. The food is delicious, generous servings, reasonably priced. The decor is pleasant and the staff are very friendly and helpful. We're both vegetarians and my partner is gluten intolerant so finding dishes we can eat isn't always easy but Five Elements has some excellent plant based, gluten free items. Today I had the best baked eggplant toastie ever and Sandra had a Mediterranean salad bowl which featured superb falafel and hummus. The coffee is excellent, served in cups made from coffee bean husks. Altogether a wonderful place for breakfast or lunch and it will soon be offering dinner as well. I can't wait!
On a recent trip to NZ, I was lucky enough to have lunch at the Five Elements Cafe. The service was superb, the food served was absolutely delicious, but the most important quality was the ability of the restauranteur to observe and anticipate our needs. I went back for a second visit as it was such pleasant place to be. Highly recommended.
Went for breakfast this morning and got the baked eggs which were really delicious and the perfect portion size! My friend enjoyed the fritters. Really friendly staff and the coffee was v good too! Will be back to try more of the menu!
Been driving past this place every weekday morning on the morning commute. Finally got a chance to try it out in the weekend. First impression is it’s a lot more spacious inside than it appears from the outside with various zones for dining. We were immediately greeted and taken to a table so that removed the uncertainty of ‘Is this place an order first then sit or vice versa’. To be honest the breakfast menu is not comprehensive but combined with the small brunch menu it was sufficient. Prices are a wee bit on the high side with the exception of the coffees which were surprisingly cheaper than the vast majority of cafes. Importantly the flat white was spot on and consistent as I grabbed a second one later. The food is worth the price, well presented with reasonable proportions. Service was fine. We are looking forward to come back and try the lunch menu and soon the dinner menu of which we were informed by I assume was the owner that dinner will be offered in a couple of weeks. All in all a good experience and will be back.
Enjoyed our visit. Staff were very warm and welcoming. Felt that the menu was a little limited but staff very obliging and offered us options from the earlier breakfast menu. Food delicious and well presented. Suggest sweet biscuit be supplied with tea/coffee not savoury perhaps.
Very classy cafe. I had mocha coffee and surprised that it comes with biscuit instead of marshmallow which I personally don't eat marshmallows. Very glad that at least got a cafe that do something unique instead of general way. The egg benedicts meal also very tasty. Hopefully there will be more hot meal on menu for breakfast and brunch.
