Fifteen years ago I bought a small, but intriguing oil-on-wood painting that was so evocative. I keep it to the left of my computer, and now as I'm in the thick of writing my PhD, I will pause when I get frustrated or confused or puzzled, and let my imagination just rest on it for a few minutes. Her art settles my thoughts and prepares me for what's next.

I found Artist Gabriella Lewenz' use of color and light viscerally moving, and couldn't resist buying a wine barrel stave painted in gorgeous textural blue hues with detailed superimposed patterns for my house in France. Such a treat to come across a talented purist of this ilk.
