Garnet Station reviews
44What a great place! This is a home away from home type of establishment. Lovely ambiance, personal touches. Good bar and great coffee. Amazing woodfired pizzas. And they even have a tiny theatre with regular improv and music performances. This place is a station you want to be stranded at!
Update- this little place no longer operates as a cafe. But instead is a cute venue and pizzeria and bar. Hours can vary so best to check out when they are open for pizza and drinks.
The best little cafe in Westmere. We went to a birthday party here and it had an awesome private tiny theatre and private garden. There was also the public cafe with delicious food and coffee.
This place is amazing, their pizza is next level and their welcoming nature is second to none.
My wife and I were so pleased to return to this lovely venue on Garnet Road. Lisa and Verity so welcoming, engaging and committed. Enjoy the evening sunshine at the pavement tables. Absolutely delicious wood fired pizza, washed down with very reasonably priced wines and beers.
Comedy and music nights in the Tiny Theatre out back.

For the price, the quality is exceptional. In fact they are beyond what I expected, even though I'd read the reviews and not only do they provide excellent protection but they look fairly good too. Anyone who buys a brand name is nothing more than a fool.
Garnet Station is such a cool place to dine. It’s very relaxed, almost like hanging out at your friend’s place. We had the prawn starter and the polenta fries, and later the pizza, followed by tiramisu. Everything was delicious, and we bought agreed the tiramisu was better than you’ll find in Italy! Great wine options also, and Verity is a wonderful host. We will be back!
The food is delicious, great wine selection, and amazing that this place has a performance space to see great indi shows. Love it!
I have never eaten there but attended lots of Sunday night standup there, however before a show I found myself there a few hours early so popped into eat.
The service is friendly and charming. The food delightful. The coffee, spot on. Next time I'm on the line up ill be early and have something yummy to eat and relax before the show.
Such a fun place to visit, great hosts, delicious food, and really cute decor. Highly recommended.
Was expecting the fried chicken would be a bigger meal but in general the pub is nice if you don't drink fancy cocktails, very expensive
A lovely spot with a very good vibe. We absolutely loved the pizzas and had a great dining experience! We'll definitely be back and I can see us becoming regulars:)
Warm ambience. Rustic. Down to earth. Food is good. Friendly, engaging staff. A little expensive for what it is and I preferred it when it was a neighbourhood cafe more than a restaurant.
My handsome boyfriend and I had a fantastic time at the Garnet Station. We really enjoyed their humus for "Starters" and smoked paprika chicken for our "Mains" and the chicken meat tasted succulent. For our dessert we had their Sticky Date cake. Verity and the waiter guy gave us a wonderful customer service and made us feel welcome. Overall, we had a remarkable time. Definitely going to recommend my friends to make their debut at Garnet station.
Such a good time! Laughed at comedy in the gorgeous cute 'tiny theatre' til I nearly peed myself so brilliant! And.the lemoncurd baked cheesecake is to die for. Highly recommend and I will be back for sure!
A great community cafe open Wednesday to Sunday Afternoon and evening. Excellent lineup of organic wines beers on tap retro and funky decor. Great people
What a fabulous little spot. Excellent pizzas and wine choices. Can see why it is popular with locals, and the small theatre out the back made for a wonderful evening. We will be back
A group of us (actually, more than half the audience for Caitlin Smith's concert for a birthday celebration) were quite disappointed by the way we were ordered out of the performance space when the musicians took a break, by one of the staff members who needed to reorganize the chairs to fit in more people.
Always fun and a pleasure to dine and wine at Garnet Starion with Verity and Lisa. The lamb Pizza is just heavenly
Lovely food, lovely atmosphere, lovely people and gorgeous coffee. They open late which I love and are very accommodating. They even keep a collection of rugs for people who feel the cold to use. Lots of indoor and outdoor seats. We moved out of Auckland recently and will really miss our beautiful Garnet Station.
Great local cafe beside Westmere School. Great coffee, wide ranging menu with plenty of healthy options. Seating out side in the afternoon sun. Out back behind the counter is a large bungalow style more tables to eat at. Wood fired Pizza also on offer. Seating up.the side also now under cover. Highly recommended. Well worth a visit if you are tired of the clinical aesthetic currently in vogue. A real homely and relaxed place with friendly staff and owners.
