Visited for getting my machine for service.
I was just mesmerized by the way he communicated, professional yet friendly and very knowledgeable & educative in what & how to get best out of my machine.

Very disappointed with the service and online purchase and delivery process. Waited over 12 days for an online purchase to be delivered and I am literally in Auckland. Thought buying online would be convenient and save me the hassle of going into store during the working week. After emailing customer service they couldn't be bothered helping or offering a refund of the delivery charge. It's all good, these old fashioned businesses like Godfreys will eventually die out if they don't keep up with consumer expectations of this century. Retail and consumer goods have a higher online presence these days but I think this business must be run by some oldboys club that will be the next Kodiak or Nokia. Don't buy from them, go to JB HiFi.

Bought Hoover Allergy Vaccum. Anand n Anuj were very customer oriented, they gave comprehensive information about the vacuum which led me to buy it and very friendly as well. Top marks for customer service.

Really disappointed with the service and recommendation. I wanted but a Dyson Cordless Vacuum. I very specifically asked for Dyson as I have a old V8 which still works amazing. I wanted a unit with bigger battery and wanted to get a latest Dyson. The sales rep assured me they Dyson is rubbish and go with Tinco. I was told things like its much superior and better for kids with hay fever. Been a year and a half I have had to give the vacuum 3 times to get it fixed. It finally died on me today again half way vacuuming. I would expect a 1000$ vacuum to work better or at least your sales rep would not have pushed it on to me when I asked for Dyson. Never visiting your store again. I have thrown it in the rubbish and gonna get a Dyson from Harvey’s tomorrow. Please do your research and don’t trust the the sales rep in this shop

I don’t usually do reviews but this experience definitely warrants one. I’d purchased a vacuum at the Westgate store yesterday which was great until it unfortunately after a couple hours of use had stopped powering on. I opted to take it for return to the New Lynn store as it was closer to home.

When I got there I explained the issue to young guy working who assessed it and determined that I’m not at fault, the product is defective and that I should be able to return it no problem. So then I asked if I could get it replaced and he told me he couldn’t do anything about it because it wasn’t purchased at that store and their store is franchised so they don’t faulty stock from other stores?

I’m pretty annoyed he completely wasted my time checking it when he wasn’t going to help me any further as I did upfront say I purchased it at Westgate. He very confidently turned me down on taking my faulty product but when I asked questions on how the stores operate between eachother like whether they transfer stock etc he seemed less and less certain and told me he’s not sure and that he’s just a part timer.

I contacted the head office through the website to get some clarity on this but after looking at Consumer Guarantee Rights on the Godfrey’s website there’s a section that states “If you wish to exercise any of your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 for defective products or Godfreys 10 Day Money Back Guarantee, please take the product to any Godfreys store. ” If the company says I can return it to ANY store - then where is this guy getting this idea from that I can’t return it to their store because it’s not a “company” store?

He offered to get in touch with his manager but I didn’t want to proceed further there. It left me feeling like if I wasn’t spending money at THEIR store that they don’t want to deal with me. Will head back to Westgate then.

All I wanted was a hose only.was given the runaround.fair enough if you don't have it, but to be told to go to Henderson store who will have them in stock, when they don't, is annoying and a waste of time.the guy at Henderson was great though.said the hoses are generic, asked what size I needed and said it will arrive in a couple of days.

It's annoying to have to travel back out Henderson when I live in New Lynn, but at least I know Henderson are helpful and knowledgeable. If your looking to spend $ for a big purchase, go give it to the guy in Henderson.who's helpful with the small stuff.

Also, I phoned their customer service number to ask if stores kept this generic hose in stock, she said every store is different and offered to put me through to the closest store. I told her what happened and asked if the stores were franchised (cos no one seems to know what each store has). She told me they weren't.and that was it. Maybe Godfreys don't have a computer to check store stocks

Don't let them hustle you with their we will look after you act. As soon as something wrong they dismiss you. I had to call their head quarters in Australia to sort my issue out.

Very happy with our new Bissell Steam Power Fresh Mop slim.purchased one evening and got a phone call 9.00 am the next day to confirm arrival. Tested all functions today, it's fast and effective! Bought the German Bodenstaubsauger vacuum cleaner from here last year October. After trialling multiple options decided to spend a bit more but get something that cleans amazingly well with less effort compared to other vacuum cleaners. Comes with 5 year warranty plus 10 free annual service. This is much lighter to other bagged vacuums (I dislike bagless vacuum cleaners). Took it in on Sunday for this first service and Anand at the store was very good. Not only did he have a warm and welcoming personality but assured me he will service the vacuum and get it done within 1-2 days. I am not sure why there are so many negative reviews here but I will only by all my cleaning appliances from this store

Terrible customer service. Definitely not going back to this store.
Purchased a vacuum from them that had just lapsed it's warranty, nonetheless I needed a $5 plastic replacement clip and so I gave them a call. I was told that I'd be called back with an update on the part but no call back was made. I called the next day and again no one returned my call. Tried this again the 3rd day and they passed the blame onto their colleague who wasn't working then. Finally I decided to visit the store and spoke to 2 of the most unhelpful staff. Rather than try and help me source the part they pretty much fobbed me off, one even suggested that I purchase a new vacuum? ! Great solution there buddy!
Maybe take some initiative, get on the phone with the parts centre, perhaps speak kindly to your paying customers and everyone walks away happy. Shocking customer service.

UPDATE- I've just read through other people's reviews and it's always the same problems, staff not calling customers back, arrogant and unhelpful staff etc. Now I only spoke to 3 on the phone and met with 2, so there might be someone else there that actually knows how to treat customers and take initiative, but definitely not this lot.

The service from the New Lynn team has always been outstanding. When I recently visited the store to get some help with my older vacuum, the guy went out of his way to ensure that I got the right part so I wouldn’t have to send it in for an expensive repair. The team has definitely won my loyalty. Thanks.

Indian Salesman tried hard to rip me off by trying to sale an expensive Vacuum Cleaner while I was there for a part for my Hoover Tranquilly. I ended up buying that part from another shop with $20 dollar whereas I had been quieted $59 at this shop. Absolutely disastrous experience!
