I have significant concerns about the management of Herne Bay Medical Centre. Disorganized with a serious lack of follow up with patients, dissemination of important information and poor customer relation skills by one of the nurses.

Excellent doctor and service. I think it's very difficult being in any public eye in Auckland and previous reviews show just how precious people are. If the receptionist is grumpy have a thought for the amount of self entitled people she deals with on a daily basis. If I am sick I don't take it out on other people I am just glad there are people that are there for me no matter what.

2 weeks later and nobody ever returned our message regarding covid testing appointment. Absolutely gobsmacked by this organization and its poor customer service. Will be moving to another clinic as this is the final straw.

Liz Harding was the absolute worst! I never want her again as my doctor. I was unwell and was told by reception that David was all booked out. So I had to take her. She was really slack with her checks and didn't tell me what exactly I had. She gave me a Covid-19 test and it came back negative. I'm still feeling really unwell and I can't afford to take another day off of work to come back in for another damn appointment. She is slack and pathetic. Her advice to me was to "ride it out. "

Refused to help me get an urgent inhaler prescription without a $70 charge. My inhaler had run out (my fault) and I was struggling to breathe while trying to walk my dog. Unhelpful and bloody expensive.
Total lack of humanity from the receptionist…. Won’t be going back, and I live less than 400 metres away!

My first and only experience with them was during lockdown - it took me four phonecalls and ten days to get my prescription faxed to a pharmacy. Then it was the wrong prescription. No one responded to my written complaint. When I rang to ask for an explanation the receptionist sounded bored and said she didn't know what had happened. When I said I was not staying she just said ok, bye. They don't care about their patients or about accurate patient care.

A well run practice with minimal waiting times. The team have been here for many years which is helpful seeing familiar faces particularly when you are sick. Parking can be an issue as its a very popular area with numerous cafes and restaurants in vicinity. All in all a good place to go if your sick.

My experience at Herne Bay Medical was brief, expensive and inaccurate.
I came to Herne Bay Medical in need of a Hyperbaric Doctors Certificate stating I was fit to dive. The doctor I saw (Cannot remember his name) was extremely awkward and very unpleasant to be around. He did not perform any tests specific to diving (ear equalising, lung capacity etc). Instead, I got asked a few questions, assessed my balance and took a few measurements. I would expect more from a general checkup.
He then refused to fill out another prescription for me because he is not my regular doctor. I left $100+ out of pocket with inaccurate information about my capabilities. I have since then needed to see another doctor as I have had repercussions because of his inability to do his job costing me more money.
I would not recommend this practice to anyone. 0/10
