I am really disappointed with the service and experience I received at this clinic.

I moved here due to my doctor moving and was not offered an enrolment form when I came in only weeks ago to see my doctor for the first time.

I then booked my pre departure covid test (again weeks ago) as I am returning to the UK to visit my dying father, which is stressful enough in itself, and was quoted $170 and booked in with no questions asked.

Less than 24 hours before my appointment I receive a blunt text saying sorry, 'we cannot do your covid swab in our clinic as you are not enrolled here. Please book your test with your GP. Thanks'. This was at 3: 25pm and my test was due the next morning at 9am. I was leaving for the UK two days later. That in itself was bad form because when I phoned to insist on having the test as it was such late notice, I was told I can have it done but they would be charging me an extra 50 dollars and even if I enrolled now it wouldn't count as it only counts from the end of the month so no matter what I will incur an extra charge.

At no point was any responsibility taken from the practice that they never asked me to fill out an enrolment form when I came to the doctors only weeks before, nor when i booked the test itself - this was not my fault and yet I was made to feel like it was and there was no attempt at recognising this fault or a genuine apology. I was told either I had to pay more or I couldn't do it.

I find it ridiculous that a health professional couldn't have firstly an ounce of empathy for the circumstances individuals like myself are in, but furthermore, to charge more for their mistake at a time like that is appalling in my opinion. Not only this but sending a text less than 24 hours before an appointment that is supposedly unable to take place (even though it was) to cancel is not good service. The smug sounding and disingenuous apology I got at the end of the last phone call whilst offering NO real assistance really finished it off for me.

I never write reviews and am doing this because I feel strongly this was totally mishandled.

As much as I like my doctor I will not be returning here.

I can't recommend Holistic Medical Centre highly enough! Not only have they have they helped me with my health requirements that other doctors didn't (and didn't care to) understand, their service is excellent. Today I was late for an appointment due to a major incident on the motorway and they arranged things so that I could still see the Dr, and went out of their way to get my prescriptions to me. Thank you all so much.

I have only recently started going to the HMC and have been very impressed. They have a great number of services and holistic options available. All staff and doctors are incredibly welcoming and knowledgeable and were efficient with follow ups to insure I was on the right track. I will happily continue to support this medical centre.

I highly recommend this practice, if you have health issues that traditional western medicine has not been able to solve, and you are interested on getting to the root cause of you problem. Dr. Olivier works in partnership with patients, and has great compassion and knowledge, but is not afraid to recognise when doesn't know the answer, and happy to explore other avenues. I came with a multitude of random symptoms, that were affecting my daily life, and I can say that now I am 80% recovered. It has been a long road, but I appreciate that he did not give up on me, and validated my experience.

I find the doctors here to be so helpful and understanding, especially Dr Olivier Caunes and Dr Revati Chopara. Both are absolutely lovely and have been excellent in helping me with my health issues. The receptionists are also lovely and helpful. I feel the practice has really stepped up its level of service recently, it has always been good but in the last few months it has gotten even better.

I was referred to Dr. Olivier Caunes and found him to be kind, professional and extremely knowledgeable. He approached my longstanding illness holistically and provided insight and perspective I hadn't thought about before. I have also been working with Selina Singh (Naturopath) and have found her thorough and extremely helpful in my healing journey. I have recommended both practitioners to friends and family. I am very happy with the treatment I have received from the Holistic Medical Centre.

Wouldn't recommend this place. Very expensive and high turnover of doctors, so no continuity of care. Make you feel rushed. Took my daughter there for a chronic condition and she was told her symptoms were normal! Also try to sell you expensive supplements that you're not sure if you need.

This place is obscenely expensive and I had a bad experience. I attended as a casual patient to get a second opinion. I knew the initial consult would be quite a lot but even follow up appointments are extremely expensive and I can't see the justification. For a 15 minute phone consult with the GP they wanted to charge me $75! I was accused on two occasions of not having paid my account (I had) and there were two occasions of being directed to get medication/tests that were extremely expensive without being warned that they would not be funded. The one star is for Selena the naturopath, I had a consult with her and she was really knowledgable.

Absolutely horrible, do not recommend for anyone.

Receptionist is in general extremely exclusive and unwelcoming.

The prices are extortionate for the value provided and they love dragging out your appointments and then making you pay more. For example, I had booked a 15 minute appointment which ended up going over that (I was not at fault), and was charged for a 30 minute. It was not my fault the GP repeated themself multiple times, spent large amounts of time typing on their computer and spoke extremely slowly.

Seen multiple doctors and all but one refused to give adequate medication, preferring to suggest I alter my diet (which in most circumstances would be fine but: a- I have been doing so in various ways for over a year, b- my diet is in general healthy and I am healthy by almost all metrics according to blood tests. They are aware of this), and use herbal remedies that I am sure are very useful to some but I have also tried and have not worked.

In conclusion, do not visit this practice. If you insist on somewhere holistic find somewhere else, and if not then save your money and go for somewhere cheaper.

P. S. I am posting this from an old account as I would like to remain anonymous, they have plenty of my personal information there and do not feel comfortable with them knowing who I am.

Dr Caunes is fantastic, highly recommended, I can see from some reviews that the holistic approach is not for everyone but it works for me.

I see Dr. Olivier Caunes here, and he is an absolute treasure. He has really helped me through some difficult times. He has excellent “bedside” manner as well as being very knowledgeable and thorough. He treats every health concern like an investigation and is determined to see you feeling happy and healthy again. I really enjoy his approach and feel so much more hopeful about my health.
The administration is also friendly and its easy to make appointments. They have a very useful reminder system for those who are absent minded like myself. Thee office is very nice as well.

Although expensive & I feel rushed, I would rather go to the Holistic Medical Centre, if able to focus on the consult & concentrate on the info, given, it is clear the Doctors (& a long time ago I saw a Naturopath) all know what they are doing on a cellular level & understand how to get to the bottom of health issues. They are one of the only places that suggests testing for the right things based on symptoms, such as Vitamin D.

It is important to learn about health naturally to avoid as many antibiotics & surgeries as possible. I am grateful there are Holistic Practices.
(Re: another review I have read, no they are not quacks, it is clear that the Doctors & Naturopaths at this Centre have sound medical & Holistic knowledge). Taking the Holistic approach does take time as it works more gently.

I would hope that with support NZ can afford more Holistic Medical Centres so it is not so expensive.

One of my clients went there and got an excellent review of her gut health last week. The doctors there are working with nutritional medicine and general practice with a busy workload.

This team of people did wonders for me and I really couldn't praise them enough. I was feeling awful and the normal doctors couldn't find anything.turned out I was so deficient in vitamins that I had burnt out. The team basically saved me (and my family) and supported me getting back to work and back on track. In particular Dr Olivier Caunes was fantastic. So great to have people looking at the full picture, proper diagnosis and having the technology that normal practices don't have. FULLY recommend.

This place is run by a bunch of supplement-pushing sadists. I suffer from severe obstructive sleep apnea and have provided my diagnosis to them as well as seen them regularly for almost a year now. I have been prescribed medication to help me get better rest throughout the night for several years now with little noticeable side effects - despite these imbeciles insistence that it is akin to ingesting cyanide. These criminals force me to come into the office once a month to have the same pointless convo with the rotating staff of quack doctors. I made sure to call ahead when I was running low (because they won't supply more than 1 month at a time, even though it is perfectly acceptable practice in NZ to prescribe a 3 mo supply) and am assured that they are calling the script into the pharmacy that day. This has been a recurring issue since my GP left the practice unexpectedly several months ago (don't blame her). I have a big job interview the next day and need to make sure I get a good night's rest. I made sure to explain the urgency of the request to the receptionist who made it seem like no big deal. She then sends me a text message 24 hours later that I will need to come into the office for another pointless "exam". I say sure, when can I come in? Not for another 3 days, and we can't write you a temporary script to hold you over until then. Utter sadism is practiced here along with voodoo supplemental snake oil salesmanship. These are textbook patient abandonment, and I will be sure to file a complaint with the relevant bodies! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

As a 60 something pakeha male I've always had an aversion to things medical, so it was with great reluctance I did as ordered by my boss. I'm glad My Honey made me go. Dr Olivier was persistent and I eventually took all tests as requested. Luckily a clean bill of health for this dude, made all that much easier by the great team who work there.

Disappointing unfortunately. Well-meaning staff, but expensive and not worth the extra you pay for the holistic approach. They run a tight ship exactly to schedule which is great in that there is no wait time - but when your allotted time is up, you are shown the door. I never felt fully listened to or supported here.

The Holistic Medical Centre is amazing! I moved to this area over one year ago and started seeing Olivier Caumes as my GP. I love the way that they combine traditional and natural methods.

I am very impressed with Olivier. He is very professional and highly skilled in many facets of medicine. He is very thorough, considering various treatment options, conventional and holistic, alternative.

The whole team is fantastic and I would highly recommend them to anyone. They genuinely care.

Really pleased to have taken more ownership in my health.

We're all responsible for our own good health (fitness, diet, stress) and it's easy to just go to your GP to get help you when you're sick, as opposed to working with your GP to figure out what's actually causing you to be sick in the first place.

Having someone that is prepared to ask more questions about your lifestyle is essential. If your GP doesn't ask you about your diet (amongst other things), then they're just not doing their job properly.

I have been a patient of HMC for the past 6 months, and I love their approach to health and wellbeing.
The consults with the Doctor and Naturopath were very thorough helping to take my health to whole new level.
