Hospice Shop Howick reviews
6 Small update. I went in one day and staff are always polite and friendly to me. But this one situation bothered me. An asian lady in front of me was paying in cash and was short 60 cents. The man behind the till wouldn't let her get the items. Fair enough sure but I mean 60 cents. Anyway, she's looking embarrassed and he's not budging so I grab out some coins for her and pay the 60 cents. She thanks me, slightly embarrassed, I say no worries but then as I go to pay for my things the man says to me "thanks" as if I saved him from an awkward situation. She was in the awkward situation, not you and I paid for her sake, not yours. Please people do a bit better, at least don't make it uncomfortable like this.
It's okay, quite small, not a lot of things, you may find the odd bargain. We normally shop for kids things, the children's section is small, not a lot of toys or books, the items are decently priced, some a little pricey. Staff so far have been very polite and welcoming to me and 2yr old daughter.
One of my favourite stores. Lovely staff & great quality products at a fantastic price
Drove across town, arrived at Hospice Shop Howick at 2.47pm. Their sign is still by the outside footpath so I assumed the shop is still open until 3pm. The woman at the counter looked up and said they were closed. Wasted trip, won’t be coming back even if they are open from now on.
Was all the way across town and saw this shop as I like the hospice shops around my area thought would be good. Was very disappointed in staff as were blunt and rude when I asked if a small side table was for sale apparently it is more important to keep all there precious tables for display rather than sell and raise money for charity won't bother to recomend or visit again.
Don’t come here if you have young children. We were made to feel extremely unwelcome by staff.
This place is VERY proud of their junk! It is WAY overpriced, and I would personally recommend going to the Warehouse, or Eastgate Op Shop, or the Salvation Army Op Shop nearby-ish.any of those options is MUCH better.dont waste your time! Or better yet, go check it out for yourself, and write a review on them, so they can get the clue that their stuff is not worth what they ask, or anywhere near, really!
