Hospice Shop Takanini reviews
19Beautifully displayed op shop and colour coded clothing racks which makes things easier when shopping and nice home decor aswell. Awesome!
Beautifully displayed op shop, colour coded clothing racks and home decor, just makes the experience that more easier and it looks great. Loved my visit here
Prices are so high for a hospice, such a disappointment it's getting to the point where its cheaper to go to Kmart.
Amazing friendly staff! They have THE BEST bargains by far:) would highly recommend visiting
Recently purchased a record player from here - it needed a new needle but now plays beautifully. A great find! Grandson is over the moon!
Thoose old lady customer service looks unfriendly and grumpy. Not even said hallo so rude with bad manners.
I have nothing but praise for this store and staff. I’ve purchased many items here, at my own choice of item and accepting the price asked. I always wash what I purchase at op shops before using it myself. Doesn’t everyone? What condition are any items you have dropped off at an op shop. They are doing their best for a very worthy cause, and I remember that when I drop things off or purchase from them. Please don’t knock them unless you are willing to do better.
This op shop had some attractive set ups, but overall I didn't buy anything.
The prices are too high for a Hospice, particularly for the mediocre offerings. The staff do not seem very confident, I asked for the price of an item and the retail assistant had to ask four people before they arrived at an answer. Staff were not particularly friendly either.
I did like the green table but did not buy it because I do not have a dining room nor house to put it in. But I digress!
Overall verdict = meh.
I bought a couch for 350 I so wish I seen it before buying it because its got so much dog hair and the lady we bought it off didn't even care it had dog hair. Omg you wouldn't believe how much dog hair it is. If they don't keep there couches clean what else do they not keep clean? Not happy with this purchase I see why they have a sign saying no refunds. Because everything here is all dirty. Check before buying don't even go in here. Not worth it at all. So guttered in the couch. I wasted 350 for dog hair! Stuff this hospice shop. Kind regards
The manager Dawn is brilliant. I had a delivery issue, Kelly and Dawn were amazing and got it sorted straight away. I absolutely enjoy looking around the store, you get some really good finds. I admit you get the few odd items that are overpriced. However, if you know what it's worth you'll be fine.
This store is just the best. The Manager Dawn and the other staff members are always there with friendly welcoming smiles, I have always been amazed at the compassionate way Dawn handles herself when dealing with the customers that are poor and desperate to cloth their children. I would have to say I am a better person after visiting this store with the staff who give of their time freely so money is made to look after people in their final days. Nursing people of any religion Left are the grieving families who need that oh so beautiful embrace to know somebody cares. I love what this Takanini store stands for and I just admire Dawn and her staff and I feel like I am a family member when I enter the store.
Too often we let stores know when we are upset with the service but hey I do it myself but also I let stores know when I have good service,
I hope the new year coming is a good year for Dawn and her staff. I look forward to the bargains I get at the store.
Cheers Annie
I asked for the price of a towel. The assistant asked senior staff. She said just look at the price of the others. They were $2.00. She then said, you can have it for $3.00. I walked out. Last visit. I'm a student, I'm not stupid.
I'm relatively new to the area and I've been here 3 times. One item of clothing was filthy the first time and they put it right back on the shelf. So over priced on most things too. The staff I've seen each time are quite abrupt and rude. I absolutely support hospices and I love what they do (actual hospice not shops) but I'm not really interested in the lack of community spirit here. I would expect way better and I hope to see some improvement. It's not hard to be polite and friendly to customers/supporters.
Tidy & was served by a nice team member. This store is small & has over priced itself on some average/mediocre products.
Love visiting here staff are wonderful and you get great deals for its value.
I Recommend you visit this wonderful and friendly place grab yourself a bargin:)
What an awesome place to shop. Great, clean second hand clothes at an excellent price. I commented to the dashing sales assistant that the dress I bought could have been sold in a Parnell second hand shop for $50! Will definitely be back!
Why are the goods so expensive? Esp the furniture. Some of them can nearly reach $700. How can you put a price like that on goods that are donated. For a shop that claims to donate to hospice, i think its a rip off. Some goods are dearer than goods that are brand new.
The staff are terrible, wouldn't recommend to anyone! Saying such things as "You are too big for that" and raising the prices of some items marked lower
Extremely rude staff. We had an old dinner set that we no longer needed. It was all there, and the staff member pulled out each piece noting any minor scratches and then questions "well would you buy this? " she turned us away.
