We were here for a conference. We had morning & afternoon tea & dinner. Lovely friendly attentive staff, in a quirky and interesting setting with lots of history. So there see it for yourself

Easily the best place I've ever stayed. From the moment we walked into the reception area, I knew it was going to be good - and then when we walked into our room (2.3, I highly recommend it), we were gobsmacked! A stunning room and really exciting to be in. Restaurant and bar were brilliant, food, drinks and coffee - excellent. Service was brilliant throughout, including finding that rogue phone charger. Perfect location - walkable to the ferry and right in the historic precinct of Auckland's CBD, yet quiet. 10/10 all the way. If you love the classics with some artistic quirks, if you love history updated with an eye for modern beauty - do it. Best ever.

My sister and I attended the Tipsy High Tea this afternoon at Hotel Debrett. We were warmly welcomed and seated immediately. The cocktails were delicious, the food was amazing and there was a wide variety of tea options to choose from. The decor and set up of the room was also beautiful. I'll be recommending this experience to all my friends and would love to make a return!

I absolutely loved my stay at Hotel DeBrett. The staff was so kind and extremely helpful.from helping bring my luggage to my room, to their dining recommendations. The room itself was quite charming, I loved the design and decor. It was such a comfortable stay, I was sad I ever had to leave!

If you have a family, sofa beds should only be used in an absolute crunch. It's beyond time they get an update as they are very uncomfortable. For the price, I would expect nicer, especially since they factor that into the Occupancy number.

Also, just a small thing, but it's also time for the TVs to be swapped out for something more modern. Was there for the Women's World Cup, and the picture quality is not high definition.

Held a special board meeting here, the Drawing Room was a perfect venue, full of personality not dry and boring. The food was delicious and the staff very genuine and attentive.

Terrible food. Another joke of an effort by so called chef nick holland. No training, just make it up as you go along. Terrible experience from a Terrible cook.

Beautiful and classy (art deco meets 21st century) ; comfortable rooms (gorgeous bathroom). Friendly and helpful staff (puts the "hospitable" in hospitality). Great restaurant with creative and fresh offerings.

Convenient spot, serviceable dining, bar and coffee. Loved our stay though. Happy holidays.

The Hotel DeBrett is very centrally located to the city centre. Our room was super comfortable and very spacious. And the staff, what can we say, they were so accommodating and attentive and they made sure our stay was exceptional. The restaurant was very good for bfast and dinner as well. I would highly recommend staying at this wonderful hotel.

Room was OK (Superior Room) but hotel felt tired and in need of some TLC. Restaurant and bar staff appeared poorly trained and short staffed and kitchen looked like it needed a good clean

A small hotel in High Street, just off the main Queen Street in downtown Auckland. Easy access to shops and wharf from here.

$79 for high tea and some watered down cocktails. The high tea consisted of a small triangle chicken sandwich, a teeny scone, one asparagus roll, sliver of salmon with what they said was avocado and a morsel of something wrapped in prosciutto. All were a bite full at the most. Very heavy on the desserts and unfortunately some had gone soggy as sat out too long. I left hungry. Extremely disappointed. Wouldn’t recommend.

After checking in, we arrived in a bedroom where the AC and the toilets were not working. We called the reception and asked to resolve the issues. The toilet issue was resolved, but we learned that the AC will not be working for the next few days.the problem is that there are no windows.so we can't breath fresh air and we are just suffocating! Yet they let us check in and didn't mention anything of course.and all hotels are fully booked.not professional and clearly incompetent.

A genuinely superb hotel stay - comfortable, quiet and lots of luxurious touches to place it a cut above others. We really appreciated the staff going above and beyond to make the first night of our honeymoon special!

The team are all so very accomodating, friendly and professional. Super comfy bed and zero noise can be heard from the vibrant city streets, via the triple glazed windows. Such a lovely space and decor hence highly recommended.

In the centre of town the room was so quiet and the bed so comfortable that we easily missed our flight. Great base for a city break

Went to a birthday high tea at Hotel DeBrett. Great environment, nice and quiet, but the food was really average compared to other high teas I've had in Auckland. The food didn't seem fresh bread had clearly been sitting for hours.very disappointing.service was also average very disorganized.we waited ages before we got our tea at the end when we had finished our cakes. Don't think we will go back again. I'd had the high tea at DeBretts a few years back and it was Incredible.

Theft. The hotel took a $100 deposit from my card and never refunded it. I emailed a total of 24 times to ask them to refund my money. They blamed their bank, my bank, …. Every excuse instead of refunding me my money
