Howick Village Flooring Xtra

We have recently carpeted our apartment and used Howick Village Flooring Xtra as the provider. Mal Ali assisted us with the carpet selection. He was extremely helpful throughout the process and we cannot thank him enough for his expertise and service. We live on the North Shore so were out of district and this was not a problem. Mal travelled to our apartment and the process went smoothly. We recommend Mal and his team. Natalie was also very helpful scheduling the laying of the carpet.

Tried them out with a small shower room vinyl job, took over a month to do the job (two weeks the initial install then another two weeks waiting to finish) after I paid deposit. In the end I had to finish the siliconing myself, they used clear on white vinyl & white tiles which only magnified the poor fitting instead of white which is standard practice. Poor communication even though I emailed the best time to come & finish the job, they got the installer to contact me to arrange a date, then after I removed the doors & prepped the floor again the installer tx me to say couldn't make it & would be available next week some time. Its not my problem they've got other customers waiting, they shouldn't take on work that they cant do in a reasonable time. Wont be using them for my kitchen flooring (which I never offered them to refuse?) or for anything else. Very disappointing.

I highly recommend Flooring Xtra, especially Hayley Jamieson who was an absolute pleasure to deal with. The installers were also fantastic - they were friendly, efficient, and did an excellent job. On the day of the installation, they even helped move the furniture and were willing to do anything to make the process go smoothly. Overall, they were gems and I couldn't have asked for a better experience.

We were affected by the Auckland flood earlier this year. I would like to put on record the help we received from FlooringXtra and Mal Ali. Ours was not a huge job and it was much delayed waiting for an insurance settlement but at all times Mal offered real practical help, no matter how often I had to delay the start Mal was always patient.

After spending approx $15,000 with this branch you would think they would offer top class customer service. But NO. If I could give no stars then would have opted for this. Left me with a job incompleted and blamed it on their carpet layers saying they have no control over booking their jobs, even though their carpet layers are saying they schedule all their work. Regardless of who is blaming who, and who isnt telling the truth, my initial order for 3 different requirements was placed with Bruce from Flooring Xtra when he first visited my home. The order was then given to them because they said they would be able to get all three requirements done. (This was for new carpet for a bedroom, laminate flooring for two large lounges, and to re carpet multiple stairs.) Regardless of who is blaming who, the Howick branch should have sorted out another layer to get the job finished, once their layer said he hadnt been scheduled to do my stairs and COULDNT reschedule with me direct, as Flooring Xtra do all their scheduling. But NO. Gill at Flooring Xtra just gave me a list of other layers who "might" be able to help (this list had 2 wrong telephone numbers, rest just do repairs so werent interested, and other two Í couldnt get a hold of at all). So basically they told me it wasnt their problem any more, and left me too it. Appalling lack of service. Its easy to give good service if jobs go smoothly. But a company's worth is really shown when there is an issue and they show no interest in sorting it at all. I would never have given Flooring Xtra this order in the first place if I had known that they werent going to complete the total job. (It was made totally clear to me at the beginning, because I had the carpet already for the stairs, that I would pay the carpet layers direct for the labour, at a pre agreed price, however Flooring Xtra were always co-ordinating the carpet laying in the bedroom and the re do on the stairs). Ive finally found a reputable carpet layer to complete the job and believe now that Flooring Xtra misquoted the price for the stairs. Is this why you just abandoned me?

Thanks to Bruce and Gill at Flooring Xtra Howick and to the fantastic team of installers! I am very happy with the quality of the carpet and how amazing it looks. The installers are certainly efficient at what they do, including ripping out all the old carpet and moving the furniture for us. They were very friendly and obliging and made it a lot less stressful. I highly recommend using Flooring Xtra.

We asked Flooring Xtra Howick to install carpet in the large area of the church, lobby and offices at St Luke's Anglican Church in Manurewa after they had tendered a successful quote. All stages were seamless and professional from offering carpet choices and colours to completing work within a week so services were not disrupted. Due to the inevitable Covid effect, the carpet was delayed from Australia, but the carpeting team fitted with our timetable for the actual work. This was done mainly by 2 courteous and professional young men who had the areas stripped and tidied before laying the huge swathe of carpeting. The transformation of our area of worship and environs is a constant delight. Thank you Flooring Xtra Howick.

A great experience. Gill and Bruce were knowledgeable and helpful and went out of their way to ensure we got what we were looking for and fitted in with our time frames. Installation of the laminate was professionally done and the end result is better than I had imagined. The carpet layers did a great job but a little more communication would have made the process easier for us. Very happy with the end result.

Having consulted extensively with different companies and products, I sent an online enquiry. I was promptly replied by Gill. I than popped into Howick Village Flooring Xtra, met the team, Gill & Bruce, both were exceptional, efficient, having good product knowledge and professional at all times. Gill popped around to offer her expertise on my laminate options that would blend with my existing wall colours, furniture and furnishing. Bruce was very knowledgeable as well, with his measurements and attention to detail.

Installers were fantastic, credit to Rob & Riccardo, who completed the job in one day, superb installers.

Being a person with attention to detail, I was utterly thrilled with the level of service and final finished product. The laminate flooring looks fantastic.

On the whole, a very professional & exceptional team; highly recommended. They surely will be my first choice for another flooring project coming soon. Well done team!

I have consulted 4 different flooring companies before making a final call on who we will use and Flooring Xtra Howick delivered the best service and price.
Bruce has called me a day after my online query and was at my house doing measurements few days after that. He was super knowledgeable, friendly and efficient. Gill was our consultant for choosing colour and actual product. She was incredible and made us feel special because she put a lot of time into going through all possible options in terms of colour, texture etc. In other shops, we were left to our own devices.
After we made a decision, Bruce gave a the best quote and the final installation was done in 1 day!
Definitely will only be using Flooring Xtra Howick going forward.

Excellent service. I highly recommend Flooring Xtra Howick. Firstly Gill at the store was very helpful and gave us great advice. Then Bruce went out of his way to pick up the flooring from the supplier and delivered it to our house, as we needed it urgently. We definitely recommend this Flooring Xtra branch.
