Humbug Cafe reviews
68Only had coffee there, but the big man on the machine crafts a banging coffee. Cheers big boy!
It was such a cosy corner despite it not looking very modern and the food tasted so fresh and good with the staff being so sweet and helpful. We got the mince lamb, the moccachino bowl and french toast (sweet) both were nice big portions for the price and the savoury warm mince paired well with the sourdough bread and was great this cold day. The french toast was a tad bit too sweet fore but nonetheless delicious and moccachino was perfect and had enough caffeine to last me days. Do give it a visit.
Love the big breakfast, worth your money and they make nice coffee too. Definitely I'll go back there next time.
Nice enough place, but could do with a few more vegan options. They do a vegan breakfast which I have had before, and enjoyed but other than that it’s pretty much toast/bagels. Would be nice to see some vegan options in the cabinet.
OMG Salmon & Prawns Rostie - absolutely you have to try this! Totally love Humbug Cafe for great kai, hot flavoursome coffee, lovely lovely wait staff. No better to place to be for Sunday Brunch in Waitākere
Dropped in today 18/12/22 small coffee and slice carrot cake.coffee tastes burnt and cup barely 3/4 full and you should go to Piccolina, Rosebank Road, and see their carrot cake slice that's the same price ($7.50) but twice the size! No excuse for this Humbug!
Good service and coffee but the special of the day did not live up to the 'hype'. Burger meat dry. Fries ok
First up tne cafe which has an airy relaxed vibe to it.
The first sip of coffee (flat white) and it's tne BEST I've had in a very long time.
The food was tasty and plentiful (awesome home made baked beans.
Humbug has it all, including the staff who were helpful and friendly.
Five stars was a no brainer.
Funky cafe; great options available from past experience. Friendly staff and decent parking close by!
Good service. Yummy food. Good vegan breaky. Eggs slightly over. But overall great experience and would come back:)
I came here for the first time with friends today. And I got to say that the staff are welcoming, friendly and are willing to help when needed. The food is very tasty I got the beef smoked cheese caramelized onion burger with chips and a very good iced coffee. The place itself is clean tidy and spacious and has a really good vibe about it. I would highly recommend this place! And I'll definitely be back!:)
I got the crumbed chicken burger and it was bland and dry. The banana smoothie was good but I will no be coming back I strongly recommend not to go here!
All of the food and drinks were over priced and were not up to the 32 dollars I spent which was basically like putting money down the drain.
We have been here a number of times. Still great food and attentive staff. Will keep on coming back.
Had the bagel with salmon and cream cheese, had to assemble the meal myself and the bagel was hardly toasted and stodgy, my partner had the humbug grill which he’s had before but this time it was presented so poorly, overcooked Eggs and yucky baked beans, they were sweet and tangy just very odd. My mother in law ordered a simple poached eggs on toast with a side of baked beans, once again over cooked eggs they were also misshapen, and the beans once again were tart and odd.maybe undercooked? The service however was good and the food came out quickly, such a shame to see the humbug fall from grace.
I've been here three times in the last month and every time there's been an issue. Drastically overcharging for an iced coffee ($10 for a latte cup is insane), today's coffee was so burnt and terrible it was un drinkable, the food was rubbery and tasteless and half the mushrooms had to be pulled out as they were inedible. Not sure how this place is so busy considering the below average food and coffee. We'll be finding a new regular spot.
Still as good as it has always been. Great coffee and great people
Still a great place to go
Sat outside and menus were given and order taken without having to go in. The food was all delicious as were the drinks. Berry pancakes for the 5 year old, loaded chips were the best!
Didn't find the breakfast satisfying. The mushrooms were dry, the toast wouldn't cut, disappointed. However, the young man who served us was a pleasure.
Parking's at a premium but the food is worth it.
Reasonable pricing & the setting gets plenty of sun.
A popular local Glen Eden Cafe. The menu is varied with many options. The food was well presented and delicious and perfect portion size. The staff seemed a bit "lost", constantly wandering around the Cafe with coffee looking for who ordered it and we had to remind them of a couple of items we ordered. Overall, not a bad experience.
Delicious vegan breakfast, I especially loved the roast potatoes (so crispy). My oat milk flat white was well made and there is a nice selection of T2 teas
