Hunters Corner Medical Centre reviews
25Called the receptionist to book an appointment got greeted with a very rude and ugly demeanour! Needs communication training is an understatement. Don’t understand why she is so rude to people seeking medical help the reviews here isn’t lying. The local doctors at Mangere, Ōtara and Mangere town centre are more appealing.
Doesn't even deserve one star. Abysmal service from receptionist, years of mistakes/mixups/rudeness. I have finally had enough of this continued incompetence and have transferred to another practice. Check their other reviews. Avoid at all costs. Was a great place when Dr Prue Waters owned it. Dr Peter Ting is great but he needs to do something about the sustained incompetence at the front desk.
I have been a patient here since I was a baby. Nearly 32 years. It was fine until the last 2 years or so. Dr Ting is ok but sometimes asks like he doesn't care, just wants to get through as fast as possible.
I don't need to see the doctor often but when I do they tell me to wait till next week. (3rd time in 2years its happened) I asked the receptionist if there is anyone else I can see cause I need a medical for work and she just said in a angry voice "NEXT WEEK! ". They also have put the price upto $41. I'll be looking for a new doctor now.
Really I wish I had an option to give NO STAR. Absolutely worst practice in Auckland. Never have my family encountered anyone polite at the reception. Never have they ever had any pleasant conversation over the counter or the phone. Absolutely pathetic practice. And you are paying for the service which is another level of fraud.
Hi
I am the Uber driver that picked up one of your patients (Joan Corpret) from 11 Edward st to be drop off to your medical centre after i had picked her up from this address i noticed there was no drop off address in the app i then called reception and spoke to a very unprofessional staff, pls note that for me to get pay for any trip i need to have a drop off address before commencing the trip, i told her that there is no drop off address and asked her politely if she could resent the address so i can get paid for this trip she was very rude and started calling me names over the phone before we finished our convo she hung up on me i told her if she did her job properly we wouldn't be having this conversation.
I really believe she needs to be disciplined for her action.
Kind Regards
Uili Misa
Used to be great but now just is a total disaster from start to finish.
I am now looking for a new doctor as are other friends and family who are at the same practice.
- Update: I thought I would give them another chance for a while but they are getting worse not better.
A family members experience with Peter Ting today where she was told she could not discuss a couple of health issues with him but had to choose just one and make another appointment with him to talk about another issue was the last straw.
Absolutely disgusting treatment from a "medical professional".
I finally changed doctors today. I rang Hunters Corner Medical Centre 3 times today. The first time someone hung up, the second time someone cut the line while it was ringing and thank god, the third time they answered. The receptionist has a rude and unhelpful attitude, she could not help me find a suitable booking. 2 weeks is a ridiculous period to wait to see a doctor. I asked if I could be on the waiting list if there were any cancellations and her response was "thats too hard. The phones are too busy". So she is well aware the phones are ringing but cannot be bothered to pick up. It is not that hard to tell customers to please hold but completely ignoring the call is unacceptable. A receptionist should not be asking why I need to see the doctor as this is a confidential matter. My family has visited this practice for the last 30 years and I can't believe how poorly it is now operating and not to mention they make you wait sometimes over an hour from your booking time to see the doctor. Absolutely ridiculous, I hope they are able to view these reviews and recognise they need to make a change.
Iv tryd to get prescription for my medication 3 times on different occasions and was never successful. Its always the same reason, no available appointment. Its very sad.
All I wanted was a prescription for my ventoline inhaler.
I'm changing my GP ASAP.
Total waste of time and very poor service.
I was a patient here for a very long time. Absolutely terrible now. No customer service, no available appointments, almost impossible to get anyone to answer the phone and no reply to my email either. Took them almost a month to send my medial records to my new doctor's office. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere.
Used to be great but now just is a total disaster from start to finish.
I am now looking for a new doctor as are other friends and family who are at the same practice.
Receptionist is terrible can't hear her at all.can't ring too make regular appointments line always busy.
Worst medical center I have ever been too
Drs aren't nice either not sympathetic too my condition that has NO.cure
My family have been with this medical center since Dr Koelmeyer moved to this facility and we have gone through 3 gp's here. I would recommend it, however, I've been trying to call the line to book an appointment but the line has been down. Disappointed as I think it's a pretty decent center now, but there's no news anywhere or alternative line for me contact.
I see I'm not the only one who has an opinion about the receptionists as they are the face of the center.
Been a patient since Dr. Koelmeyer days and it’s sadly difficult to get through to book an appointment.
Firstly the receptionist sounds miserable over the phone. She doesnt sound happy at all, and to top it off she is very quiet making it hard to understand what she is saying. Secondly she does not know how to pass on information or call back like she said she would. This has happened twice now. I recieved a txt message saying to collect medication and was given the wrong one after i specifically asked for an alternative. Wasted my time. Not sure if these guys actually care about my daughters needs. Im not happy with the service!
I gone thru my worth experience. But i guess i am not the only one who is talking about customers service and call delays by reception. My mother fell at work so she was complaining about pain on her chest and shoulder… i took her to GP so she was booked. I can understand that but then if GP booked for 2-3weeks. Secondly, then they suggested me to take her to White cross. After that i sort everything out from white cross Otahuhu. Thanks to those guys. Just Today, i need a medical clearance certificate for my mother so she can show at her work and it took me whole day with very rude behaviour of one of the nursers at evening.
Medical services are great but customer service is pathetic, you need to value other people's time and treat your customers with respect.
The best medical centre that my family have had the privilege to be apart of. We moved out of Auckland and miss their Exceptional care and service by all members of their staff. Helen is wonderful, always welcoming and caring. Carol, a great nurse and Philipa Johnstone a superb family doctor, who is empathetic and understanding.
We have moved to New Plymouth and cannot find a medical centre such as this gem.
Dr Waters was our family doctor for the past 30 years seeing three generations of patients. Sadly she's moved on and having moved out of the area so have we but I'll always have great respects for Hunters Corner Medical Centre and the staff for the great service over the years.
Pretty solid service, under both Pru Waters and now Peter Tan. Will try slot you in where they can get a space. Can sometimes be hard to contact over the phone.
Dr Peter Jiang cheers for always going above and beyond for your patients. We arrived late today and he still went out of his way to see my son. A very knowledgeable and empathetic man.
