3We have had our iSmart controller now for 6 months and have noticed our savings have improved the more we have fine-tuned the settings. Our hot water cupboard used to be the warmest place in the house during winter. Now it is like a normal cupboard and we're paying less on the power bill.
This is a clever piece of equipment that works well in a standard situation and compliments our solar panels even better. We noticed a saving or around $1 per day while still on mains power, with the solar panels we are saving more as we only heat the tank when the sun is at it's optimum during the day. If the clouds are over we still get hot water as we get the power from the grid.
Had been looking to controll my hot water useage better via a timer but stumbled across the ismart controller so decided to give it a try. I did do a bit of homework on it and concluded it was just what the doctor ordered. Was very pleased to learn that it was exclusively designed and manufactured in New Zealand and they are preparred to warranty it for 3 years and not the standard 1 year like most! I did watch the installation videos on youtube and installed it myself which was very easy.
After living with the system for awhile now im very happy with how easy it is to use and very informative, and its surprised us (a familyof 2 3yr olds and a new born) as to how its made us more aware of how we use our hot water without it being restrictive at all.
All in all i can highly recomend this product as it does do what it says and is very easy to use!
