KAGE - Brickworks (New Lynn) reviews
52Says they’re open til 10pm, however we turned up at 8: 50, it wasn’t full at all, multiple empty tables, and we were refused entry? If you don’t take customers after a certain time, maybe advertise this on your website. Drove from 30mins away to be turned away.
We had a dinning experience today. Fish tasted awful and not fresh. I returned the food and complained but no action at all. They want us to order again. No discount and the acting manager is not apologetic. No restaurant etiquette and no value for money sorry to say that.
We won’t come back here anymore. So Disappointed that this has happened before Christmas Day.
We enjoyed our meal. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We ordered the beef fillet (medium rare) which was well plated and delicious. The desserts - tiramisu and banoffee pie - were also tasty. Would dine here again.
We had a voucher. Not allowed dog box. Manager was self righteous and upset my wife. Won't go back and recommend not to take your partner there.
Was told to take a menu and sit down, she would be there shortly. Did as we were told like we'll behaved pensioners.
Sitting waiting to order breakfast with coffee however the young lady spent the entire time we were there talking to some young people over where the coffee machine was didn't even look back where were.
Two couples left, she arrived took dirty dishes glanced at us with the menu waiting to order. That's as close as we got to ordering brunch as it was 11.30am.
The young guy by machine was more interesting than making money.
The wrinkle and the fish was over fried. The cajun chicken also over fried. Presentation was nice, ambience good, service acceptable. Overall ok. Don't think will go back again. Thanks anyway
I don't know if it was just average everything because it was quiet the day we went but.it I felt a little like we were hassle being there.
Very great atmosphere. Service was also great. Fish ‘n’ chips were all of very high standard
Wonderful service and great selection of food! Lovely place to spend my birthday dinner. Loved the prawn dish!
We ordered chicken bao buns, pulled pork roti and crispy calamari which we never got - we got served a portion of Cajun chicken instead. Anyway, this cajun chicken was super dry like it was a yesterday's chicken, with too much of that dry crust. Pulled pork roti wasn't possible to eat without having heaps of water and I couldn't eat after all as it was worth a dessert menu - way too sweet, couldn't even taste pork, too much of a sweet sauce. And buns themselves are fine but the chicken again is very dry in them. After that we had some belly troubles. So never again.
Stopped in here for coffee, the service wasn't great. We had a toddler with us who was enjoying her fluffy but as kids do made a bit of a mess with it and the spoon that came with it, we cleaned it all up with the serviettes at the table but when the woman working there came to grab the items which was just some cups and teaspoons and the serviettes which we had all piled together nicely she made a rather rude comment about "the mess". It's not like we left it all there for her to clean up. Was no need for it
Few weeks ago we tried out this place and was surprised by how nice the food was. Green curry was beautifully made, wanted more pork bao buns. Wouldn't mind trying something new next time.
Does however, take a wee while for food to be made but allgoods at least it was worth the wait. Also, lovely service by waiting staff.
Good place for light lunch. Good coffee. Steamed bao buns lovely. Iced coffee good. Chips v good. Inside and outside dining options. Update: They do a great toasted sandwich too
All the food were tasty but nothing different. The highlight was the turmeric chicken roti. A bit disappointed that the creamy drinks were not available.
Watch out if ordering from the app as it seems to charge a random surcharge (we ordered from the waitress instead).
Great! Got the pork belly. 9/10. Wouldve been ten but for me personally I like a bit more crunch to my crackling. The potato served with was cooked real well and had a nich crunch to it. Staff were friendly and music playing was fun.
Not the cheapest place in the world but I think it’s fine for what you get.
I don’t know if you care about music swearing but there was a bit of that so maybe take care bringing your kids at night haha.
Nice one!
Superb meals, great portion sizes from the varied menu. We enjoyed the flavours and everything was perfectly cooked. There was a bit of a wait between the meals coming out at the beginning but not too long. The deserts were tempting but the mains filled us up so we'll save the sweets for another visit. We had Chicken Salad, 2 x burgers Ribs, Fish n chips and a pulled port roti.
Great restaurant. We come to Auckland every year and try other restaurants but get the wonderful meal here.
We could not have enjoyed our starters and meals more. Flavours were superb. Happy to recommend this place to anyone.
This is a relatively beautiful restaurant and quite easily gets full a lot of the time so decided on a take away.
Anyway it's a really authentic food which for me at least is excellent.
The consistency has been great that we always recommend this place to friends and family and they have loved it to.
